WASHINGTON — When the jubilant couple were wed in June, they exchanged personalized vows and titanium rings, cheered the heartfelt toasts and danced themselves breathless. Then, as the evening was winding down, unexpected questions started popping up.
One after another, their guests began asking: Are you going to have kids? When are you going to have kids?
Tom Lotito and Matt Hay, both 26, could not help but feel moved. They never imagined as teenagers that they would ever get married, much less that friends and family members would pester them about having children.
“It’s another way that I feel like what we have is valid in the eyes of other people,” said Mr. Hay, who married Mr. Lotito in June before 133 guests.
As lawmakers and courts expand the legal definition of the American family, same-sex couples are beginning to feel the same what-about-children pressure that heterosexual twosomes have long felt.
For some couples, it is another welcome sign of their increasing inclusion in the American mainstream. But for others, who hear the persistent questions at the office, dinner parties and family get-togethers, the matter can be far more complicated.
Many gay men had resigned themselves to the idea that they would never be accepted by society as loving parents and assumed they would never have children. They grieved that loss and moved on, even as other gay men and lesbians fully embraced childless lives. So the questions can unearth bittersweet feelings and cause deep divisions within a couple over whether to have children at all, now that parenting among same-sex couples is becoming more common.
The process can be also daunting logistically and financially, as would-be parents wrestle with whether to adopt or use a surrogate.

That’s certainly a much better choice.
Maybe a baby will grow in Tom’s tummy.
On one hand, a baby adopted is a baby not killed through adoption.
On the other hand is a baby raised by two males with one common set of family instincts.
There just may be a reason that hetero couples have two sets of instincts when it comes to baby-raising.
There is a same sex parent child issue case going on right now in Vermont. Google “Ken Miller trial”.
I guess a lot of straight assholes are interested in this outrageous, destructive experiment.

What a sick,sad situation in which to bring an innocent child. Same sex couples are too selfish in promoting their fantasies to consider the toll their lifestyle will take on a child.

Tom and Matt are a genetic dead end, and they need to accept this fact. Do not look look for a woman as a surrogate mother Tom and Matt, as statistically you two will be separated within a few years anyway, assuming you don’t succumb to disease first.
I am still looking through my high school biology text to see if
“fertilized excrement” can render life.

I am pretty sure that in all the history of this planet, there has never been any living thing that has resulted from homosexual sex. Not one single thing. And yet, people in NYTimes-land seem to think otherwise.
Oh, thats right ... what they meant is, "will you find a surrogate female who is willing to be fertilized in a lab and carry the resultant offspring to term, then find a "family friendly" court to allow said offspring to be adopted by two buggering males in their 20's?"

Think about it. With me—I couldn’t image my life without my father AND my mother. They gave me meaning (and unconditional love—both maternal and paternal—both necessary to be able to emotionally connect and be successful in all types of natural relationships as an adult.
With biology you get a connection to the past and future-—when I married and had children. It is the Law of Nature-and makes life meaningful-as God Designed—the teleological end creates the most happiness for both the natures of women and men—long term happiness. Any other hedonist acts—usually destroy long term happiness.
Biology gives those children a rich history where they can truly understand themselves in ways which not knowing their biological family prevents. Sperm donor children when grown—most were desperate to find their “biological” father. It is an innate desire—to know your genetic history.
Marx wanted to destroy all biological attachments— so loyalty never goes to your relatives-—it goes to the State. Biology—esp. the mother/child bond is extremely strong and families are the most likely to have support of each other to oppose the state. Artificial family units—not with a man and woman—will pervert the reality of any child—being sexist—where their world is warped so they will not be able to function in a more normal way with all human beings. Especially intimacy will be perverted. It can not be normal—because they don’t have “normal” modeled at the crucial formative years.
The agitprop to get mothers to desert and kill their own offspring has been ongoing for decades—the BF Skinner conditioning through textbooks and TV, since the Feminist movement. It is conditioning so women will be okay with giving their children away to the State. Abortion/daycare destroys maternal instincts and that connection needed for bonding and Trust.
Normalization of anything—is easy if you get the children while young. It creates the Worldview-—like the world when slavery and pederasty and homosexuality were “normal”. It took generations of education and Christian Ethics to rid the world of that slavery and pederasty and homosexuality—the ideas that they are”Good” and “NORMAL”.
Now, with technology (TV and the centralized school system)-—they are able to “Normalize” anything in one generation. Even in less time, since they are destroying the minds of children through cognitive dissonance in the schools and with drugs and sex ed.
