Lawsuit: Cops ‘forcibly removed’ tampon from mother during traffic stop
dailycaller.com ^ | 8/10/12 | Steven Nelson

Posted on 08/10/2012 7:08:35 PM PDT by Albion Wilde

A Florida woman claims that police pulled her over for a minor traffic infraction, strip searched her on the side of the road, and “forcibly removed” a tampon that she was wearing....

The woman... filed a lawsuit against the Citrus County government, Sheriff Jeffrey Dawsey and six unknown officers last week seeking damages....

The policeman, the lawsuit says, then pulled her over, approached with his gun drawn and put Tarantino in handcuffs while her two small children — ages one and four — watched...

Over the next two hours, five other policemen arrived, including a female officer, and Tarantino was “frisked and strip searched twice at the side of the busy road, in plain view of passers by.” During one of these searches, the female officer “forcibly removed” the tampon...

They sexually abused her and terrorized her toddler and infant. But at least they didn't shoot her dog.

Technically a tampon is concealed, but it’s the “weapon” part they’re going to have a hard time getting to ...err...stick?

Good thing she wasn’t stopped in front of the White House...they might have ate her dog.

This story - if true - is appalling.

However, something smells very shi....er...very Obama-y here.

I’d pause a while to check the er...background...of the claimant.

Doesn’t look good. Let’s wait and see what unravels on this one. Some people have some great sounding stories that vaporize over time.

We’ll see.

If the officers are guilty, I support throwing the book at them.

I’m outraged at this. Six f’n cops - they need to downsize badly if this is the cr@p they are doing on taxpayers money. They need to lose their jobs and spend some time in the slammer. I hope, then, her husband sues them all over again!

I’m willing to wait a bit for more info...This doesn’t sound logical at all. To remove her tampon (as claimed) the officer would have had to remove her underware and have her naked on the side of the road. Others (including the police dash cam) would have seen this. And if her tampon was properly inserted it would take a bot for someone else to remove it.

A man's truck broke down in the hot desert, he had no choice but to continue on foot, but soon, found himself crawling, near death when he spotted and rubbed a bottle..you guessed it, a genie popped out, said he was a gov't genie and offered 3 wishes.... you guessed it, the first two were an oasis and riches, but for the man's last wish, he wanted to be surrounded by the most beautiful women in the world.......... he immediately turned into a tampon.

The moral of the story is that you can bet any deal offered by the gov't will have strings attached.

Hard to see how they can explain this, unless they had her license plate on a list of suspected drug dealers. Even then, pretty hard to explain.

Here's her photo, from The Blaze's version of the story. I must say, she does look as if she's on drugs or something. But that would hardly be enough in itself:

Driving through my local town (small town Oregon) last weekend, I witnessed a young woman pushing a baby-laden stroller who was surrounded by three KFPD officers... One motorcycle and two patrol cars. I wanted to shout to them that they should call for more backup, but didn’t have a good angle.
All three cops sporting skinheads.

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/police-364905-dunn-anaheim.html latest update on the Anaheim police riots ~ which, BTW, stopped yesterday morning when the Anaheim cops, and cops from surrounding jurisdictions, finally got their act together to round up a criminal gang that’s responsible for about 99% of the stuff behind all the bad police work. They nailed 49 certified gang members. Early morning hours stuff ~ rather than just broad daylight weekend gun battles in residential districts.

The officer or department may have a history with the woman. In the photo I do get the impression that may be true. Pictures can be very misleading though. It does make me wonder what else her kids have seen in their lifetime though. What a mess.

On another thread they’re talking about officers that shot a dog at the wrong address, during a raid. Kids were reportedly hand-cuffed next to the dogs body.

When are these idiots going to come to the realization that it just isn’t worth the downside to conduct these no-knock drug raids?

Update: the police issued the following statement
Ref: Civil action filed on August 3, 2012, by Leila Tarantino, Plaintiff

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office wants to go on record as saying the allegations made in this lawsuit are not only ludicrous, but completely untrue. Yes, a traffic stop was conducted on July 17, 2011. The plaintiff was issued a criminal citation for violation of restrictions on her driver’s license. She also was issued a written warning for rolling through a stop sign.

No strip search was conducted, and the plaintiff’s tampon was never forcibly removed by any deputy.

It is the Sheriff’s Office intent to aggressively defend itself against these malicious allegations.

Issued 08/10/12

IMO, we can cut to the chase and find out who was the cop who cited her and where were the other 5 cops assigned at that time. The Sheriff should already know that and tell us.

I must say, she does look as if she's on drugs or something.

I couldn't disagree more. She looks like a typical, sleep-deprived young mother who needs to run a comb through her drip-dry hairstyle, who is disgusted and shamed and mortified. There are no bags under her eyes, no edema, no skin lesions -- what makes you think she is on drugs?

It pretty obvious if they pulled out her tampon she must have been marked as person who was known to be involved in the drug trade or culture...

The police seem to have disregarded her 4 th amendment rights as there at last in the article there is no probably cause...to pull her over...

Sounds like they went on a fishing expidention and came up with nothing....

I guess the police rolled the dice thinking if they found something illegal it would cover their asses but and they lost since she was clean...

Dash cams are pointed forward. Maybe they had her stand on the other side of the cars, out of the view of the cameras.

Officers can issue false statements too. I’m not going to say that’s what is happening here. Once again, we’ll have to wait.

Some people get very angry when they come into contact with officers. This woman may have gone postal on the scene. She was sited for violation of restrictions and rolling through a stop sign. The violation portion is probably what really rubbed her the wrong way. A judge is going to angry over that. She knows it. The cops wouldn’t let her slide. She’s going to get even.

I don’t know if things are worse than they were years ago, but I was a juror earlier this year, and the defendant was lying his ass off. The other jurors bought off on it. His story was very outlandish. It worked.

That sounds like what may be happening here.

She has no recourse on the charges, so she makes as outlandish a story as she can, hoping her portion of the charges will be dismissed.

If she was resistant and abusive during the traffic stop, a supervisor would probably be called in. A female office may have been too, to lend a modicum of female perspective to the situation, a defensive mechanism.

I won’t be surprised at all to see others at the scene.

No, thinking to start the balling rolling or stop it. Everything is long and drawn out. They are going for a jury trail according to the attorney. This mother will be haunted if this is her town - until it comes to trail.
