Posted on 08/11/2012 8:20:36 AM PDT by Kaslin
Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., is coming out swinging against President Obamas record of failure by attacking his belief in the role of government in the economy.
Im proud to stand with a man who understands what it takes to foster job creation in our economy, someone who knows from experience, that if you have a small businessyou did build that, Ryan will say, according to excerpts of his speech released by the campaign.
Ryan then praised Romney for his career at Bain Capital mentioning that companys role in launching Staples, especially before offering this implicit rebuke of Obamas attacks on Romney: We Americans look at one anothers success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted, Ryan plans to say.
He will also say: We can turn this thing around. Real solutions can be delivered. But, it will take leadership. And the courage to tell you the truth.
Here are the available excerpts from Ryans speech:
Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history. Following four years of failed leadership, the hopes of our country, which have inspired the world, are growing dim; and they need someone to revive them. Governor Romney is the man for this moment; and he and I share one commitment: we will restore the dreams and greatness of this country.
For the last 14 years, I have proudly represented Wisconsin in Congress. There, I have focused on solving the problems that confront our country, and turning ideas into action; and action into solutions. I am committed, in mind and heart, to putting that experience to work in a Romney Administration. This is a crucial moment in the life of our nation; and it is absolutely vital that we select the right man to lead America back to prosperity and greatness. That man is standing next to me. His name is Mitt Romney. And he will be the next president of the United States
Let me say a word about the man Mitt Romney will replace. No one disputes President Obama inherited a difficult situation. And, in his first 2 years, with his party in complete control of Washington, he passed nearly every item on his agenda. But that didnt make things better. In fact, we find ourselves in a nation facing debt, doubt and despair. This is the worst economic recovery in 70 years. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for more than three years, the longest run since the Great Depression. Families are hurting. We have the largest deficits and the biggest federal government since WW II. Nearly 1 out of 6 Americans are in povertythe worst rate in a generation. Moms and dads are struggling to make ends meet. Household incomes have dropped by more than $4,000 over the past four years. Whatever the explanations, whatever the excuses, this is a record of failure.
I represent a part of America that includes inner cities, rural areas, suburbs and factory towns. Over the years I have seen and heard from a lot from families, from those running small businesses, and from people who are in need. But what I have heard lately troubles me the most. There is something different in their voice and in their words. What I hear from them are diminished dreams, lowered expectations, uncertain futures. I hear some people say that this is just the new normal. High unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt is not a new normal. Its the result of misguided policies. And next January, our economy will begin a comeback with the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class that will lead to more jobs and more take home pay for working Americans.
I believe my record of getting things done in Congress will be a very helpful complement to Governor Romneys executive and private sector success outside Washington. I have worked closely with Republicans as well as Democrats to advance an agenda of economic growth, fiscal discipline, and job creation. Im proud to stand with a man who understands what it takes to foster job creation in our economy, someone who knows from experience, that if you have a small businessyou did build that. At Bain Capital, he launched new businesses and he turned around failing ones companies like Staples, Bright Horizons and Sports Authority, just to name a few. Mitt Romney created jobs and showed he knows how a free economy works. At the Olympics, he took a failing enterprise and made it the pride of our entire nation. As governor of Massachusetts, he worked with Democrats and Republicans to balance budgets with no tax increases, lower unemployment, increase income and improve peoples lives. In all of these things, Mitt Romney has shown himself to be a man of achievement, excellence and integrity.
We Americans look at one anothers success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted.
The commitment Mitt Romney and I make to you is this: We wont duck the tough issues we will lead! We wont blame others we will take responsibility! We wont replace our founding principles we will reapply them! We will honor you, our fellow citizens, by giving you the right and opportunity to make the choice: What kind of country do we want to have? What kind of people do we want to be? We can turn this thing around. Real solutions can be delivered. But, it will take leadership. And the courage to tell you the truth. Mitt Romney is this kind of leader. Im excited for what lies ahead and Im thrilled to be a part of Americas Comeback Team. And together, we will unite America and get this done. Thank you.
I just googled Paul Ryan. Top of the list is an Obama ad...
Who is Paul Ryan
check out their talking points
Attitude is everything and by Obama and his lapdogs constantly telling us “It’s bad everywhere, you can’t expect things to be good” just bogs people down and discourages hope.
THIS is TRULY an election of hope.
Nice speech! Yep, that’s what I want to hear about our future! Not the government is always good, so give it everything you’ve got, and anyone successful is an evil rich bastard! This is America, not AMarx-ica!
1) With this ad coming out so quickly by jug ears and team, apparently they already know who Ryan is.
2) With this ad coming out so quickly, you know jug ears and team are sh*tting bricks.
The Left always tell us who they fear!
Planning responsibly for the future vs. spend-it-all-now-in-a-desperate-gamble-that-something-might-work.
Folks, this election will be the Adults vs. the Children.
They had ads prepared for each potential pick. They are not stupid. I suspect only a totally unexpected pick could have caught them flat footed. They’ve had weeks to work on this.
I believe Romney has won countless conservative votes because of his Ryan selection.
I still think they’re crapping bricks :-D
I use Bing not Google
“...our rights come from nature and God...not from government...”
“...we promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes...”
“...government by consent of the governed...”
“...we will lead...”
“...we will not replace our founding principles, we will reapply them...”
Bing is my preference as well. I almost never use Google
But typical of the left
With Ryan on the ticket, there is hope. I pray Ryan is a good balance. He’s the one I was hoping for all along. Glad Mitt and I finally agree.
The only time I use Google is when I get a phone call from a number I do not recognize. I have a audio ID, plus I have MagicJack so the number shows up on my screen and I will not answer my phone if I don’t recognize the number. Same with my cell phone
I believe so too
“You’re either part of the solution or part of the problem”.
Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history
Romney is a leader in deception, the background of a liberal and a godless character.
I think all the Cloward and Piven followers are crapping in their pants. Their dream of total anarchy is in danger.
Get over it dude. We have one chance to beat the horrible Obama, and all you can do is hate on Romney? Are you really for Obama?
I just saw Obama’s “Who Is Paul Ryan” add linked above. That was all I needed to see. R-R, 2012.
I wish the Republicans would say
“well one thing is certain, Obama didn’t build it. Obama didn’t build anything because Obama has never DONE anything. well ... he did destroy the economy of the greatest country in the world. Oh .. OK... I’ll give him that.”
I think all the Cloward and Piven followers are crapping in their pants. Their dream of total anarchy is in danger.
Absolutely. The Marxist in the White House thought he was going to bamboozle America through the next election with a focus on tax returns and the murdering of spouses by his opponent. And like Greece wait until we would have passed the point of no return to rile up the masses to rally for burning it all down and replacing it with their promises of a marxist utopia.
Unfortunately for Obama and the commie party they will now have to speak to the American public how they are going to deal with the fiscal calamity we are facing.
Reaching the debt ceiling and another potential downgrade of America’s credit ratings are not far off.

Thanks for the post.
All business, you did build it. Without you, the true entrepreneurs, the business (regardless of size) would not exist.
Nice work... thank you.
Bookmarking this thread just for that post. Thank you.
Dumb question but, no. I'm for GOD, not the godless!
not having any skeletons in his closet.
He HAS deception in his heart. What kind of cover do you think deception would use? A godless liberal like him?
Get over it dude.
YOU won't get over it because YOU, now, SHARE in his evil work! How do you plan to get rid of that eternal mark?
2 John 1:10,11" If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES in his wicked work."
Thanks....I need to know PR’s background.
Yes, in spite of 'help' from government, many small busnesses are succesful.
That’s IT, in a nutshell!
What’s not to love?!
He won't throw granny off the cliff, but he will throw you off the cliff!!
Isn't there a photo somewhere of BO throwing his granny's ashes over a cliff?
>> I’m for GOD, not the godless!
So after prayerful consideration, you believe that the best plan for your country, this troubled world, and God’s Kingdom is for you to agitate here on FR for four more years of Barack Obama?
“I still think theyre crapping bricks”
No wonder they’re always cranky, nasty and mean.
So, if Romney is 'liberal and godless', what does that make 0bama? You know what they say about 'the lesser of two evils'. Just pretend you're voting for Ryan.
So far I think Ryan is a great choice, seeing how the left has come out in full attack mode. They definitely have their collective panties in a wad over this guy!
You are kidding right? No matter who wins they will have plenty of opportunity to create havoc.
On a related note ... here is Ryan after his debate with Joe Biden ... :-)

I will. He "inherited" 4.5% unemployment and $1.87 gasoline.
in his first 2 years, with his party in complete control of Washington, he passed nearly every item on his agenda.
And they had already been there 2 years since 2006, helping to create a "difficult situation" to make Republicans look bad.
So if you want to play politics, lets make sure we place the blame squarely where it belongs...with the progressives, Nazi Pelosi and the RATs.
