Fellow Freepers,
Thought you might like seeing some pics from this morning's rally at which Mitt Romney announced Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate. The atmosphere was highly excited... it had a degree of enthusiasm reminiscent of the Palin rally I attended in Richmond in October 08. The place literally erupted when Ryan stepped out from the U.S.S. Wisconsin and walked toward the stage. It was a GREAT event!

Lt Gov Bill Bolling

Former (and hopefully future) Sen. George Allen

Gov. Bob McDonnell

Mitt Romney

Paul Ryan... the new guy on the team!

The Romney family looks on...

...As do the Ryans.

Romney works the rail...

Both candidates greet the folks.
Great photos Scott, thanks for sharing them! Looks like a great time was had by all in attendance!
Thanks! Everybody definitely had a great time. It’s good to see an injection of excitement into this ticket. Looks like Ryan brings that.
Great pictures. Almost as good as being there. I noticed Ryan wiped his face a few times, was it hot there too?
Great pictures Scott! Thanks for posting them.
Thanks for sharing!

I believe these segments will chain, but there are five segments available by clicking on the desired segment below the main playing screen.
Thanks for posting! Ryan looks so - well, normal. Especially compared to that freak in the White House!
I can't remember, were you in the front row? Wish I could’ve been there. I was feeling the energy watching on the TV, but I'll bet being their must have been awesome!
Thanks again for posting these!
Yep! In addition to the typical humidity we have this time of year, the high-intensity media lights were adding to the heat as well.
bump
&
thanks!
He is exactly that. When he came around shaking hands, he and his wife and kids seemed like any young family we'd see at church. He's a strikingly regular guy. I told him of my having once lived in Kenosha, WI for a few years and he seemed genuinely interested in what brought me there. When I shook his wife's hand, I said to her, "you're in for an interesting ride!" She replied, "Oh yeah.. that's what I hear!"
Romney made a fine choice in selecting Paul Ryan.
I sure was!! Couldn't believe it, when we arrived in the area, the VIPs had taken the bleachers to the back, leaving the barricades wide open. I took the position directly in front of the podium behind the barricade no more than 20 feet away. It was great!!!
And yes, the energy was alive... it was inspiring. I have a lot of renewed hope our side will knock that POS out of the White House in November.
Thanks for sharing your great photos with us!
I love all the gray steel in the background.
Check it out Putin in Russia and WingWang in China. Just a little message to y’all.
These guys aren’t planning on a peace time military, I don’t think.
You’re quite welcome, Kristinn!!
These are great photos!
I’d been at work all day so missed the original speeches but just watched them both live in Manassas and was amazed. Ryan ENERGIZES Romney. This is a wise choice and I’m just so relieved not to hear how bad we are, how awful America is and how the damned government can fix it all.
It was wonderful to watch...like a breath of FRESH air.
Sure hope you Virginians get George Allen back in the Senate.
The Aquafresh "R" Romney has as his logo doesn't need updating for Ryan either.
Congratulations. Nice job with the pictures. Watching on FNC I was impressed with your Governor.
I travel around and I haven’t seen hardly any Romney stickers on cars, perhaps now that he has a running mate we may see some? Need to get some for my vehicles.
This is getting typical, and how grand it is. The crowds coming to see Obama during his past campaign days seem to be long gone. That's the hope and change we like.
The country needs some R&R. Bigtime.
That's the perfect slogan.
I’m so jealous!
That’s because it’s true. A lot of us will need to learn how to breathe again.
Wow, what a day you had!
That one of his leg doesn’t do to us gals that the picture of Sarah’s legs did you guys.
Well done!
Scott, you da MAN!
Wish I had gone...had no idea The Announcement would happen or would’ve gone. Love Ryan! Looks like a lot of folks there in a rather small venue but everyone looks pumped...
Great pix, thank a lot.
I started posting that last night. Seems like a logical slogan to me.
How about these as well...
“After 4 years of a bad case of B.O., isn’t it about time we got some R&R?”
Or this one...
“We tried the O.B. method (Obama/Biden), it didn’t work...now we just need some good old fashioned R & R!”
If you can find the video on line, Mom, you must watch...it was wonderful! I had chills and cried...am now excited for this election. Can’t you just see the convention finale...the pretty wives, all those beautiful children, grandchildren, and the two hunks on stage. :)
Nice to know a FREEPer was so close to the action!! :)
Beautiful! Repeal & Restore
Thanks Mat! Was wondering if you were going to be on the scene too!
