I took the same enlisted oath forty years ago and also served honorably. A decade later on took the Officer’s oath and faithfully served in that capacity. Don’t attempt to wrap yourself in a flag, you aren’t the only veteren here.
Bottom line is you need to stop peddling “surrender monkey sophistry” that is attempting to tyranize me or others into accepting Horse Manure (Romney) or Pig Manure (Obama).
I speak to you sternly this way, because I think YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT!

Folks aren't saying you cannot. Unfortunately objective reality is saying you cannot. Barring a black swan event your choice is Romney or Obama. Also unfortunate is the fact that if you do not support Romney with your vote then you are substantially supporting Obama. Why is it that the ABR crowd won't declare their preference that Obama receives a second term? I can see how that would be a defensible patriotic position. I.e., bring the nation to such a devastated low that fervor for freedom would ring anew. I disagree with that tactic but at least it doesn't deny the unassailable truth that trashing Romney benefis Zero. |

You and others of your persuasion sat the last election out, maybe thinking “with a Marxist in the presidency, we’ll get the people to demand a REAL conservative next time”. Guess what, we didn’t. now we’re facing four more years of treason,, bankruptcy, wrecking of our armed forces, and a permanent leftist majority in the Supreme Court. Conversions do happen, even later in life. The best gift you can give this friend is an understanding of how the real world works. I prefer horse dung. As a farmers son I have dealt with both and can assure you that horse dung is good for flowers and vegetables and doesn’t smell too bad. Pig chit is just plain nasty.
