Flagler sheriff's buyback nets 71 guns (FL)

Guns were to be unloaded and stored in the trunks of cars or back areas of pickup trucks, and participants were instructed to stay inside of their vehicles while the deputies retrieved the items, Johnson said. After checking all of the firearms, the sheriff's office said none of them had been reported stolen.

Another buyback arrives next week in Volusia County. On Thursday, Daytona Beach police will host their annual Kicks for Guns program from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the John H. Dickerson Center, 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Police officials said more than 700 guns have been turned in over the past three years by the community.

Another opportunity to pick up some nice inexpensive guns, this time in Volusia County.

Most of the guns are ones that are never used in crime, but belong to widows who are defrauded of their true value.

“..what do the cops do with the guns?

They screen the turn-ins and cull the quality firearms for their personal collections. The citizens may be stupid enough to buy this drivel, but cops aren't.

Maybe it is nature’s way, natural selection in operation.

It can be accurately said that children raised by two parents are in a “success” mode, but those raised by a single parent are in a “survival” mode, with a 60% greater chance of becoming criminal offenders.

This is because in “survival” mode, someone is either a predator, or they are prey. And one of the purposes of predators is to cull the sick, lame and stupid from the “herd”. Predators choose them because they are easier, and able to give much less resistance.

People who are able to defend themselves are terribly hard for predators to prey on. It is just easier to choose those who are helpless, for whatever reason. If they make themselves that way because they are stupid, it is not the fault of the predator.

How many of these guns were used in the commission of a crime?

Kill someone, then turn the gun into the police in a “no questions asked” sort of deal. Score some tickets to a game, and get rid of a murder weapon with ZERO chance of it being tied back to you.

The damned fools in Flagler County elected a sheriff from NYC.

Ever wonder what kind of guns are surrendered in a gun buy back? Crap, mostly. You can find a gem once in a while, but mostly these are typical of 9 out of 10 gun buybacks. There is nothing here a serious criminal could use to commit a serious crime. Most are broken or just cheap crap that sat around for decades, some even used as kid's toys. It's mostly crap. Buybacks are worthless.
