LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — First lady Michelle Obama began a two-day visit in Southern California Sunday, where she was expected to speak at three campaign fundraisers and appear on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

Her first stop was at Gwen Stefani’s Beverly Hills home, where the No Doubt frontwoman was joined by her band members in hosting a family event.

More Michelle Hollywood fundraising stops

And MORE: "Wow! The Obamas are really popular among celebrities, aren't they? They are definitely proving that politics isn't boring; it can be fun, sophisticated and a great opportunity for like-minded individuals to get together. For example, just last month, Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker held a star-studded fundraiser at her New York home for President Obama and his wife, and the same night, songstress Mariah Carey held another fundraiser for President Barack Obama's campaign, raising $2.5 million. But the celebrity support doesn't stop there; George Clooney, Ellen DeGeneres and Marc Anthony have all supported the president using their celebrity status."

Which is why any of us who contribute financially to these people are making a big mistake. Honestly, I think we should also not give our children money to buy ‘entertainment’ from these people either. I've seen on this board many threads about having Congress defund specific programs, but many of us (me included) have continued to fund people in the entertainment field who then fund the politicians who are the architects of the programs we'd like to defund.

Gwen Stefani - one more total no-talent in the Madonna/Gaga mold. All image, no ability.

If I had to pick the top ten singers of our generation now...with almost no talent....she’d make it into the top ten. I’d probably put Lady GaGa on the list, and Justin Bieber. Toss in Taylor Hicks, and Mariah Carey too.

Michelle’s got to hang out with the elite among us. No time for the little people — the people across the country, the people in “flyover” land ...nope. All too far below her.

It’s never been about the American People to this woman.

This slag’s hubby is/was bi, IIRC.

Another talentless nothing; she has a nice body and that’s it.

Add her to the list of “No $upport”.

I happen to think Taylor Hicks is mega talented. The others you listed are meh.........

And to think that Mariah Carey will be one of the new judges on this season’s edition of American Idol. Ho, hum. She will be paid approximately $18 million for her judging. That’s more money she can give to her beloved leftist candidates. It makes me sick!

If I may indulge in a story...

A long, long time ago in an entire different life before marriage and kids, I used to be heavily into the local live music scene.

One evening, I was hanging out in the bar/pool room of one of the live venues. That night's band happened to be in there, as well. Nice guys, down-to-earth, and pretty fun to hang out with. The lead singer was dating a non-descript dirty blonde, seemed like just another groupie. She was wearing jeans and an old army jacket, nothing really special whatsoever about her. The only thing that I remember about her was that she had an exceptionally foul mouth. Literally, every other word that came out started with "Eff".

I'm hardly a prude, and even I was like "yeah......you're kind of overdoing it here, sweetie."

Fast Forward about 7,8,or 9 years. I'm in Atlanta for the Rolling Stones concert. "No Doubt", Gwen Stefani's band, opens for them. She prances out onstage. Says "Hey Eff***** Atlanta! How the EFF are you!" and so on.

I said ....".....Aha! I know who you are......." :-)

It was a good lesson. Fame and fortune doesn't buy class and refinement.

Appears Ms Stefani has been spending her money on enhancements. Her Dr. thanks her for this months Ferrari payment. To bad she can't buy some intelligence.

I think Michelle is a late-blooming, wanna-be groupie.

Here she hangs out with Gwen Stefani and a few months ago she said that she would like to be Beyonce (because musicians seem to have fun, she added). She seems to be in awe of these people whose behavior is hardly admirable. The immaturity of this woman, who wants to be like someone else because it would be "fun" (how important and significant a goal!) and her husband is obvious and disturbing. Neither seems to have shed their teenage behaviors and tastes. Of course, that is the least of the faults with them.

Another worthless pop star bimbo.

Not surprised.

She’ll be in the discount rack soon enough, behind such music luminaries as the Bay City Rollers.
