Davidson College in North Carolina has become the first university in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served on campus.

A liberal arts college in North Carolina has become the first in the nation to prevent Chick-fil-A from being served at campus events over the restaurant's indirect support of pro-family groups perceived by some as “anti-gay.”

The student organization that controls student funds at Davidson College made the decision last week to prevent the sandwiches from being served at a series of events called “After Midnight,” when students circulated a petition expressing outrage over a Chick-fil-A’s owner’s monetary donations to groups including Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council.

Yes, I see your point: But what about the huge victory in North Carolina with Amendment One in May?

Indeed. This university is just a pocket of libtards.

Davidson is not UNC. Davidson is a Presbyterian college

It’s ok to be down on UNC Chapel Hill though. When you turn off I 40 into the Chapel Hill, you can feel the bluezone chill.

Until proved otherwise, I would opine that the alumni are in agreement with the closing Chic-Fil-A. The saying that the acorn [or apple]doesn’t fall far from the tree is accurate more times than not.

I can understand your anger Letmarch, but remember, this is Davidson College in NC, not the U of NC. ;)

Religious Life:

Welcome! Religious life at Davidson College is celebrated on the affirmation that we are all created in the image of God, brothers and sisters in the human family, whatever our creed, heritage or beliefs. As a Presbyterian church-related college, Davidson values the life of the spirit and fosters openness to and respect for the world's various faith traditions. With many religious resources and organizations on campus, we seek to be a community where everyone may grow spiritually through worship, fellowship, service, and study. Peace be with you. —The Rev. Rob Spach, College Chaplain

The title is extremely misleading. It makes it sound like a campus Chick-fil-A restaurant was shut down, when what happened is that CFA food was simply dis-allowed as a vendor for a campus event.

Now, see what the students have to say.

Alumni money talks. It is past time for many of these colleges and universities to get the message.

Yes it does, I've been preaching that Gospel for 7-8 years here and elsewhere. It's the only way to reach the educational elites.

I strongly recommend membership and donations to the American Council of Trustees and Alumni which specializes in targeting such donations.

Chick-Fil-A needs to sue the university for no longer wanting to do business with them.

Chick-Fil-A has the right to do business where it wants and the property owner has no rights.

So, if I interpret this correctly, there is no Chick-fil-A on that campus, but they are prohibiting students or others from running to CFA for carry out and bringing back to any sort of official university function?

Lol, that will really sink the CFA franchises, or increase their business in that area by 20% or more.

Tuition alone at Davidson College is $40k a year.

Can anyone imagine paying that so your kids can fight for homosexuals redefining marriage?

America's academic institutions have fallen.

I agree, after reading it more closely I see that. It is “suspended” pending a vote.
