Your right, we should obey the people who lead us to where we are today because they were not brave enough to stand up to the left. Romney is now mister nice guy. He could treat his primary opponents like trash; lie, cheat and steal in the primary, but God forbid he say anything too nasty about Obama. Any Freeper here could come up with plenty he could say, but he won’t because he, like McCain, doesn’t want to make the left and the media mad. He wants to be their friends.

Sorry, I don’t believe the world will end because of Obama. That’s the left and gop-e tactic to force us to vote as they want. The people in the military will obey the president to a point—my husband was in the military and works for & with them. Yes there are some K/A’s, but our troops will stand up to evil when they see clearly what is happening.

At best Romney is apolitical or bipolitical. I definitely don't agree that he thinks like Paul Ryan. Ryan clearly bases all his thoughts on core principles and values, while Romney is much more of an "ends justify the means" type.

I read that Reagan didn't become a registered Republican until he was 51, and that he was a long-time admirer of FDR. Politicians sometimes change their views. Time will tell whether Romney is sincere or not.

I'm willing to look at where Romney's ended up, rather than where he started, with the hope that his metamorphosis is real. But as you say, with sufficient conservative pressure, the point is moot.

In reference to the similarity with Paul Ryan, what I meant was that they are both intelligent, logical and analytical, particularly in regard to fiscal matters, which would be a massive improvement over the current economic idiocy emanating from the White House at present.

Folks like to say 2012 is the most important election of our lifetimes. I tend to disagree. 2008 was the most important. And America lost. The malignancy is fully embedded in the system now.

That's how I see it. That's why I can't get so enthused about this time.

Acts of civil disobedience are welcome.Just stay home. Let things get real bad so we can actually rid ourselves of the entire lot of them , progressives and leftists. Let the parasites eat themselves out of house and home.

Why vote for Romney? He will refuse to undo most of what Obama has done, allowing the People to be enslaved.Ryan is just bait to get Tea Partiers to vote. We learned all that with McCain/Palin and its post election analysis in 2008, and the Palin Rope a Dope up to “ I am not running!.” So SICK!.

Stay home, and let the RNC and the DNC eat the cake of their own undoing. I would love to see the GOP dead, out of business, a defunct party which is out of touch with the people. I have no intention of legitimizing them in any way, certainly not with my conservative vote.

The GOP has one last chance to put a conservative in as the nominee instead of Romney, at the GOP convention, and if they do not, then the GOP can join the ranks of the history of the extinct.

The future of the USA is in the Tea Party, not in the GOP and why should the Tea Party join the GOP to defeat Obama, we can do it ourselves, without ANY GOP in 2016?

I don’t like Romney. Never have. But, I like Ryan a lot. Romney showed me with his choice of VP that he is willing to make bold moves. Like it or not, we either get behind this ticket and support it or we have 4 more years of Obummer. This is not rocket science. If the ticket is good enough for Palin, Gingrich, Cain and others who I’ve supported and respect, then it’s good enough for me. Not great... but, good enough.

Politicians sometimes change their views. Time will tell whether Romney is sincere or not.

I am very much hoping that Romney is the man who spoke to the student body at the Citadel this year. If he is that man then he will eclipse Reagan making him look like a weak kneed moderate.

But and it’s a big but, I expect Romney will work hard at gaffing his way to defeat and I am already certain it will be deliberate.

I think it means that there are 3 bases of republicanism — fiscons, socons, defcons. Romney’s got the fiscons, probably the defcons. He’s throwing us socons under the bus.

Conservatives are no longer the base of the GOP. They never liked us and now they think they can operate without us. They may be right, maybe win this election without us because zer0bama is such a crappy president.

No matter who wins this next election, conservatism loses.

Sarah is right—We MUST support Romney and Ryan and give them a Tea Party Congress and Senate. I bet —with TEA party support Romney may well become another Reagan-—When his two terms are up they will be carving his face on mountains. Just a guess—and I have been wrong in the past-—but it is possible.

I think Catholics are also a cult, because they follow orders from the Pope. We had a catholic president named JFK, and he was the first president to push for and get passed tax reduction, during my lifetime. He turned out just fine.

If Romney is elected I could’nt give a rat’s behind about his religion since he is not running for Pope. His dad was also most likely the same religion as him, and he was a very popular governor of Michigan for many years. I am not aware of any Mormon edicts he forced on Michiganites.

I have 2 kids about to graduate from the 27th highest rated university in the WORLD, university of Washington. My biggest issue is if there will be suitable jobs for them or they will end up as statistics along with the 50% college grads who can’t find jobs. It is obvious if Obama gets 4 more years, the economy will look like Greece.

My issue is economy, not religion.

“I worked for both Presidents Reagan and Carter, as well as Generals Haig, Vessey, Ross, Kingston and others, writing reports, analysis, summaries and assisting in briefings. You are WAY off base here. Do you truly believe that Mr. Obama is better on national defense and social issues than a “President Romney” would be? If so, have your family commit you on a 72 hour hold.”

Well isn’t that lovely! And totally irrelevant. I don’t care if you once served under U.S. Grant, R.E. Lee, John J. Pershing, George Washington...et.Al. That doesn’t make you any of them....and it has no bearing on what I asked. (BTW - IF you insist on continuing to wrap yourself in a U.S. flag by quoting your “brillant” military career...we are going to have to bury you....stop it - it is immodest and sounds like a PX trooper)

Palin ONLY mentioned FISCAL CONSERVATIVES as the “Base” of the party. Why did she not mention the others? Especially the SOCONs. I want to know IF she has sold us out like the rest of the GOP establishment.

I DO question Romney’s military credentials. He was playing Mormon Missionary selling snake oil when he should have been serving in the military. Of course, Obama was being a community organizer. In my thinking a Mormon spreading a false Gospel is NO better than a community organizer spreading racial division; both are snake oil - both hurt people. Either man is ONLY as good as the military officers he surrounds himself with. I don’t know what Romney will pick as military advisors...maybe that new Lesbian general? After all, he is for homosexuals (more than Ted Kennedy!). She out to be a good advisor to him.

On Moral issues. Well, Myths record is pretty bad....just as Obama’s is. I see no gain in that arena.

So, it looks like ONLY fiscal conservatives will benefit from a Myth election.

Why else did Sarah say what she did. I am concerned and feel betrayed by her. Once again here is a direct quote from the article you posted:

“’It’s all about the independents, Shannon,’ Palin said. ‘We don’t have to just keep on preaching to the choir, there, of the hardcore base of fiscal conservatives within the Republican Party – we got ‘em; Romney’s got ‘em. We’ve got to reach the independents.’”

Sarah...what about SOCONs? What about DEFCONs? Sarah....what in the world are you saying????

I hear you, but my gut tells me Romney really, truly is pro-life. As a Mormon bishop, he was very forceful in trying to talk women out of abortions — which is exactly why the left never trusted him when he said was pro-choice!

I have friends and family members who abhor abortion but have been wishy-washy about the abortion issue. SOme of them have come to realize that the law itself matters; others, I'm still working on.

Let's give converts to the pro-life position credit for their sincerity and turn on them only if they actually betray the cause. (Here's an example of a faux pro-lifer: Bob Casey Jr in Pennsylvania. He is ostensibly pro-life, but worked hard to elect Obama. He can go scrath.)

I am getting very, very worried about the course of the direction this nation is going. If Obama is re-elected, we could very well end up having a second American revolution.

You say that like it's a bad thing. This country has needed a second revolution since at least its 200th birthday.

“Patience, don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.”

No damnable fool. You cowardly surrender monkeys that are wanting to elect a abortionist, homophile, big goverment statest, and Mormon Cultist are the ones CUTTING FOR YOUR NOSE TO SPITE YOUR FACE. He is NO better than Obama. As JR is finding out, Romney learned his ability to lie from his Mormon Missionary training. They are very good at deceiving the population.

This ONE THING AT A TIME nonsense keeps getting pushed around. It is just more of the same lies that I have been voting for since 1976. The GOPe has been telling lies to SOCONS since I have been voting. I have held my nose and let them lie to me for all those years. NO MORE. Either give me an acceptable (folks - I’ NOT asking for perfect - just a balanced SOCON, DEFCON, and FISCON) candidate I can vote for. At best Romney is only a FISCON; and I doubt that is true. His record in Mass. is deplorable in the extreme. He has already said he will do NOTHING about the homosexual agenda or attempt to turn back the repeal of DADT foisted on us by a lame duck congress. ALL THAT MATTERS TO ROMNEY IS TO MAKE THE COUNTRY SUITABLE FOR MORMON EVANGELIZATION. That IS NOT a good thing.

I would rather vote third party and hold Obama in check. Strangely, he is the ONLY thing that currently (remotely) unites the GOP. Take him away and all HELL will break lose. Only a true conservative GOP POTUS tied to a GOP controlled congress will do good. A liberal GOP POTUS tied to a GOP congress will produce LIBERAL things. At least the OBAMINATION forces the GOP to unite to hold him in check. It won’t happen under ROMNEY. Ryan will have ZERO positive effect on Romney and he will do more good staying in the House.

Romney is a total phoney. Only fools buy into his baloney.

I WILL NOT SUPPORT HIM ANYMORE THAN I WILL OBAMA. However, Obama CAN be used to keep a united front against him and keep getting us more seats in congress. A Romney administration will be a disaster that will lose seats and then lose reelection.

STOP trying to push Romney Cyanide Koolaid on folks and think the intelligent ones will drink it without a bloody fight.

Then FRiend, for goodness sake, IF you really hate Romney then don’t support him. What follows is a really good quote of Jim Robinson that he posted today:

Bottom line, it’s all about religion. This country and our constitutional government was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and beliefs and will work under no other belief system. Our rights come from God, not government. Look it up.

The godless left has been working to destroy that through their liberal progressive statist politics ever since the founding. And they’ve made great strides in that direction since WWII. Obama and Romney are two sides of the same godless liberal progressive coin.

Oh, you say he’s a devout Mormon so how can he be godless?

Well, the same way that the godless leftist Harry Reid claims to be a devout Mormon and the godless abortionists Obama, Pelosi, Biden, et al, claim to be devout Christians.

These people are pure evil and they’re trying to turn our constitution on its head. As Ryan readily admits, our rights DO come from God and our constitution was designed to defend them and to RESTRICT government from intruding into areas of no constitutional concern to it.

Must I remind you that the lying etch-a-sketch myth Romney advocated nothing but godless leftist positions including abortion, homosexualism and statism for almost the entirety of his adult life while at the same time claiming to be a devout Mormon and high up muckety muck in his church!!

This is EVIL!! Romney is an evil godless man and he lies for power!!

Seems like it's a pretty "viable" way to ask a question.

Obama is very obvious an clear evil like a known poison - you recognize what you are getting. Romney is more insidious. Candor7 said: "The future of the USA is in the Tea Party, not in the GOP ..."

The "TEA Party" is free to organize itself and conduct a convention at which it can propose its own candidate for the Presidency.

The reason I don't see this happening is because most TEA Partiers recognize that if they can't convince a majority of Republicans to their way of thinking, then there is little chance that they will be able to convince a majority of Americans to adopt their principles.

Whichever party wins, there are going to be great changes in our future and great suffering. It will be helpful during the difficult times ahead if we manage to avoid having a Supreme Court which rules that people have a "right" to Social Security, or a "right" to publicly financed healthcare, or a "right" to publicly financed contraceptives.

We won't avoid that if Obama wins. The suffering will be compounded and last generations if the Supreme Court basically orders the government to raise taxes and print money.

I see no fiscal miracle wherein Romney/Ryan or any alternative candidates solve America's problems in a single term or two terms. There is no way to solve the problem of having committed 100 trillion dollars of future taxes for spending on unConstitutional entitlement programs. Whoever is your ideal candidate, there is no way that such a candidate would be able to accomplish very much.

The reality is that we can't pay for what has been committed whether the economy grows or not, whether taxes are raised, lowered, or remain the same, and whether the Federal Reserve prints boxcars full of cash or not.

Maybe it is because Romney’s words don’t match his acts. In cases like that, I look at what people have done, not what they are saying.

Romney has spent the past two presidential election cycles lying about Reagan. He has said that Reagan was pro-choice like him, which is a lie. Reagan signed a law that was less pro-life than before but it never came close to stating a woman had a right to murder her child as Romney did. That difference did not serve Romney’s cause so he ignored it, preferring to assassinate Reagan’s character and memory than tell the truth. Of course Reagan was no longer around to defend himself which was all the better for Romney. He could pretend without anyone confronting him.

Reagan’s remorse was obvious and immediate when he saw what the dems did to the abortion law allowing for the health of the mother. With Romney’s so called conversion, he believes that human embryos should still be used in experimentation and abortions are ok as long as they are a part of Romneycare or the if individual state says it is ok to murder the innocent. Romney says he is pro-life but to this very day he continues to extol Romneycare which provides $50.00 and free abortions. No remorse. No I’m sorry I ever signed that. Nothing but how much he believes it is the conservative answer to healthcare.

So, you tell me, which should we believe, the words of a pathological liar or his actions which prove him to be a liar.

The reality is that we can’t pay for what has been committed whether the economy grows or not, whether taxes are raised, lowered, or remain the same, and whether the Federal Reserve prints boxcars full of cash or not. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Exactly. And then what? We conservatives have them exactly where we want them.Down and OUT for good.

We end them at the ballot box or on the streets. Makes little difference to me at this point.

As a matter of fact , this social evolution is inescapable, and so lets get on with it.Let the progressives of the GOP and the Liberal fascists of the Dem party do their worst. They will anyway, no matter who is elected, Romney or Obama.

We conservatives must remain and continue to organize to take our country back. That does not mean accepting Mitt Romney as a presidential candidate, which leads entirely away from what the Tea Party represents.Sarah Palin , as it turns out, is as bad as all the rest. She heard her nations call, and turned us down.

So here we are, going into November, and on our own without any viable conservative representation on the presidential ticket. And we have the bastids of the GOP and the DP right where we want them: over extended, Utopian, and ready to FAIL. The People will not stand much of it any longer, whether its from Obama or Romney.

The Tea Party will save our nation, all we have to do is remain organized, and be ready to represent Americans and enforce the constitution, because its as sure as hell that no one else will.
