Twenty weeks pregnant with twins, but last week she had an abortion
LifeSiteNews ^ | 8/13/12 | Kelly Clinger

August 13, 2012 (KellyClinger.com) - Wednesday is late term abortion day at Orlando Women’s Center (the clinic where I had my abortions 12 years ago). When I first started visiting the sidewalks of abortion clinics to pray and minister, I had no idea that late term abortions were even legal. I remember hearing about the Partial Birth Abortion Ban in 2007 and assumed (like most) that this stopped abortions late in a woman’s pregnancy.

Shock can’t even begin to describe my feeling when I first counseled on late term day. “These girls are so pregnant,” I kept thinking to myself. Of course that’s silly since there’s no such thing as being a “little pregnant”, but I couldn’t get over the size of their beautiful bellies so full of life. These women have felt their babies kick. Many of them even know the sex of the child and this is sometimes the reason for the abortion. These girls have carried these babies for six months. They are more than halfway done!

I just cried and cried. I couldn’t even speak at first. Not only is the size of their bellies overwhelming but the hardness of their hearts is just as shocking. I began to think about family members, friends, and co-workers of these girls who know they are pregnant. Is our society so lacking of accountability that they will return to their lives and no one will think this is a problem?

This past Wednesday my friend John posted a picture of a girl who arrived at OWC to abort her twin baby girls. She already had daughters and didn’t want anymore. She was about 20 weeks along, but because she was pregnant with twins, she had a big belly. Within a few hours, the picture went viral. I began to get phone calls and emails from friends who had no idea abortions like these happen. Many offered financial help and many offered to adopt her babies. Thousands of people all of over the world were praying that this girl would change her mind…and thousands were saying the picture was a hoax or that what she was doing was illegal.

I found myself repeating over and over again, “Abortion is legal in America up to the day you give birth.” In fact, in our nation’s capital, there are two doctors who “specialize” in abortions this late in pregnancy. One of those doctors has been working with a suspended license for several years. The Partial Birth Abortion Ban only stopped the use of that procedure late in a woman’s pregnancy. Now, as long as the baby is dismembered before removing him or her from the womb, it’s perfectly legal. Look up the laws in your state. Keep in mind that in any state that has exceptions for the health of the mother, this can mean that if a woman has bad heartburn that’s a threat to her health. A late term abortion starts around $2,000 and can go up to about $15,000 depending on how far along a woman is in her pregnancy.

I’ve been to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. They have piles and piles of hair shaved off of Jews in the concentration camps. They have millions of pairs of shoes belonging to children who were killed simply because they were Jewish. The pictures of thousands of dead bodies piled on top of each other are shocking and appalling. At one point I decided I couldn’t look anymore. I was disgusted that this could happen without a revolution rising to overthrow a government that would accept murder as status quo.

I know it’s controversial to say this, but abortion truly is the holocaust of my generation. What if we had the bodies of 50,000,000 babies piled on top of each other in a museum somewhere? What if we took all of the clothes they will never wear and toys they will never play with and you had to pay to see them? If each of us had to watch a late term abortion, surely there would be a revolution, right?

After the Holocaust ended, German civilians were taken to Buchenwald concentration camp to see the atrocities that happened there. Over and over they were heard saying, “We didn’t know.” Now, because of the internet and social media, we have no excuse for ignorance. The hands of America are covered with blood…perhaps her eyes and ears are covered as well.

The girl I mentioned earlier ended up aborting the twin girls in her womb even though we had every kind of help she would ever need ready for her. She admitted that she didn’t want girls and that she had no compassion for the babies she was carrying. Through a two day process, she actually had to go into labor and deliver her sweet babies into a toilet. Abortions like these happen all over the country every day. I hope that this girl’s picture made many so outraged that they are provoked to do something. When I spend hours on the Planned Parenthood sidewalk alone, I want to cry out “WHERE IS THE CHURCH?”

Its not abortion, its murder. And until America calls it what it is and puts it on display it will never change a bit. And if you think this woman cares one way or the other you’re nuts. She’d murder them in an instant.

If you’re black, the most dangerous place to be is in your mother’s womb. Hate to say it but it is true.

It disgusts me to see too many women of all backgrounds who casually get pregnant and decide, “I guess I’ll keep this one...I guess I’ll kill that one.” If you don’t want any more kids, it’s easy to get your tubes tied or get that thing stuck in your arm where you can’t get pregnant for five years. Find yourself something better to do than having sex with some random loser.

The Top 5 Countries with the Highest Total Number of Abortions

Country
Number of Abortions
Abortion Rate

China
7,930,000
26.1 per 1,000 women

Russian Federation
2,287,300
68.4 per 1,000 women

Vietnam
1,520,000
83.3 per
1,000 women

United States
1,365,700
22.9 per 1,000 women

Ukraine
635,600
57.2 per 1,000 women

List Notes:

The number of induced abortions declined worldwide between 1995 and 2003, from nearly 46 million to approximately 42 million. About one in five pregnancies worldwide end in abortion. (a.)

Most abortions occur in developing countries - 35 million annually, compared with seven million in developed countries. A disparity that largely reflects the relative population distribution. Of the 33 countries with relatively complete counts, the numbers of legal abortions were greatest in the Russian Federation and the United States—more than one million each in 2003 (a.)

For every 1,000 women of childbearing age (15-44) worldwide, 29 were estimated to have had an induced abortion in 2003, compared with 35 in 1995. (a.)

The lowest abortion rate in the world is in Western Europe (12 per 1,000 women aged 15-44). The rate is 17 in Northern Europe and 21 in Northern America (Canada and the United States of America). Many of the most dramatic declines in abortion incidence between 1996 and 2003 occurred in Eastern Europe, which includes several countries of the former Soviet Union. These countries had some of the highest abortion rates in 1996, and despite significant declines, they continued to have the highest rates in 2003. The average annual decreases in abortion rate ranged from 4% in Hungary to 12% in Bulgaria, which represent net declines of 26% and 58%, respectively. The declines in this region represent a continuation of a trend that began in the early 1990s. (a.)

Legal restrictions on abortion do not affect its incidence. For example, the abortion rate is 29 in Africa, where abortion is illegal in many circumstances in most countries, and it is 28 in Europe, where abortion is generally permitted on broad grounds. The lowest rates in the world are in Western and Northern Europe, where abortion is accessible with few restrictions. (a.)

Abortion is the greatest holocaust in the history of mankind.

And it's been going on as long as people have been around. The main thing it has done is to shift the time of death back a few months from post-birth to pre-birth because of advances in sterile surgical procedures. But people's hearts have always been this hard.

True, but people's lives, at least in much of the world, have never been this easy. And there have never, in all likelihood, been more potential adoptive parents than there are babies available for adoption.

I can't imagine what these volunteers are going through. May God give them strength.

Another term for “hard heart” is “numb heart.” Often people who act with the herd in the darkest of times, just can not stand the pain of dealing of realizing and confronting darkness. So they accept the line that evil is good so they don’t have to face the truth live a life of struggle.

It’s painful to care about the beautiful babies in that stranger’s belly and it feels hopeless when the “rule of law” or the balance of power is unanimous in condemning the innocent and precious.

Imagine you lived in Nazi Germany and were not numb, knew what was happpening and wanted desparately to stop it. I think this is where Christians are headed in America unless we come back to God as a majority.

It was street preachers who went a long way to rob the radical left in the cultural war among young people in the 60’s and 70’s. Pray for street preachers.

It gets colder. When Obama was a State Senator in Illinois, he voted against the BAIPA. Born Alive Infant Protection Act. He voted to leave a live infant, born during a partial birth abortion, in a utility closet to die. No medical help for these live infants allowed. Watch Jill Stanek’s testimony on you tube. At least it used to be on you tube. I haven't checked lately.

I want to cry out “WHERE IS THE CHURCH?”
The answers to ending abortion have been given. We only need respond.

Ending Abortion

Let me repeat in the clearest words in my disposal. I would restate our thesis in two propositions. Proposition #1 There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion. #2 The principal source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist. --Fr. John A. Hardon
http://www.therealpresence.org/archives/Abortion_Euthanasia/Abortion_Euthanasia_003.htm
-------
Prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is efficacious, and it is the way to secure the graces necessary to put an end to abortion in the world. Mother Teresa of Calcutta said, "If people spent an hour a week in Eucharistic adoration, abortion would be ended." (Adoration Chapels)

The heart of the apostolate of every pro-life worker should be a weekly Eucharistic holy hour dedicated specifically to the end of contraception, abortion and euthanasia throughout the world. It is necessary to pray first for the end of contraception because abortion and euthanasia are logical and natural consequences of contraception. If man dares to usurp God's prerogative and determine when life begins, it follows that he will also dare to determine when it ends. --Rev. Victor P. Warkulwiz, M.S.S. http://www.perpetualadoration.org/sf1999.htm

No. Until we credit it to who is doing the murdering, it won't change.

There is no man that can force a woman to have an abortion she doesn't want, nor any man that can prevent a woman from having one if she does.

The Holocaust of Abortion lies squarely at the feet of America's women. No amount of prevarication, rationalization, or deconstruction can change that fact.

“A New President, Trapped and Blinded

As everyone knows, our new President, over whom we have rejoiced, does not share this reverence for the beginning of human life. He is trapped and blinded by a culture of deceit. On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, he said, “We are reminded that this decision not only protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters.”

To which I say . . .

No, Mr. President, you are not protecting women’s health; you are authorizing the destruction of half a million tiny women every year.
No, Mr. President, you are not protecting reproductive freedom; you are authorizing the destruction of freedom for a million helpless people every year.
No, Mr. President, killing our children does not cease to be killing our children no matter how many times you call it a private family matter. Call it what you will, they are dead, and we have killed them. And you, Mr. President, would keep the killing legal.”

Well, Father, on October 18, a significant part of it will be in NYC yukkin' it up with a couple of pro-abortionists.

But now, back to your regularly scheduled homily.

These figures you've cited here are interesting, and I thank you for posting this. In a few cases some questions can be raised.

I'm not alleging deliberate falsehood here: I'm saying all the figures require scrutiny because they do not represent "apples to apples" comparisons. What is needed is a more accurate evaluation of how pregnancy and abortion rates are reported from country to country.

Someone tell my why she can abort two fetuses and there’s no criminal charge but if I were to run a stop sign in my car, hit her car, and kill her and the two fetuses I would be charged with three deaths.

The pro-choice crowd would say to you....

Because the mother has chosen to have those babies - you thwarted her plans by killing all of them. You are a criminal.

However...if those babies somehow wind up inside her, and she does not want to go through pregnancy, labor, and delivery “against her will” (that’s their new catchphrase) - then the babies must go.

Because those with the power have decided that the lives of others hang in the balance of someone else's choice simply because of where those lives reside.

She can decide to keep her unborn baby on Monday, decide to off it on Tuesday, change her mind on Wednesday, etc. etc. Their location, because of our laws, makes their existence under control of the whim of someone else. Sickening but true.

What makes my mind want to explode is that there are women out there who would rather see their child - THEIR CHILD - die than be given to someone else to raise.

What they don't realize until later is that they haven't eliminated that baby. They have only made themselves the mother of a dead one .... one that died by their hands.

Not according to Christian theology. Killing a human being that is premeditated and intentional and not justified by self defense is murder.

Rape is legal in Muslim countries. Theft is legal by governments around the world. Murder was legal in any number of countries when practiced by government. Just because a government sanctions rape, theft and murder doesn't make it any less rape, theft and murder now does it?

You’re right.

There are more black babies aborted than born.

This was part of Margaret Sanger’s goals when she started Planned Parenthood.
