(08-13) 16:06 PDT MARTINEZ -- A fire broke out in the light oil processing unit at the Shell refinery in Martinez Monday, the second East Bay refinery fire in a week, authorities said.

The fire began at about 2 p.m. in the refinery's light oil processing area and was knocked down at about 2:15 p.m. by Shell fire crews, said Erin Hallissy, a spokeswoman for the Shell Martinez Refinery.

The cause is still under investigation.

Oh I am sure it was just a coincidence. I don't think anything that has happened in the past 4 years has been a
coincidence it is all by design IMO. I was wondering how Obama would get past the high gas prices unscathed they are already blaming higher prices on the fire 2 weeks ago. Thew news doesn't mention that before the fire gas in Cal was almost $4.00 a gallon ($3.94)

Gas prices will go up even more. They’re bound to go up anyway, with oil prices projected to go way up this fall and spring. Then there are Syria and Iran.

Did not obama say he thought $5.00 gas was too cheap. no coincidences here, just like he let the BP oil spill, and spill, and spill, then gave Brazil 2 billion for an idea...yepper, I’m voting Obama /sarc9 bad sarc

I’m with you. There has been problem after problem with refineries all around the country. What the hell?
