When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over

August 13, 2012
By Jim Karger

“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.

And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.

Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.

If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.

The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.

And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, citizens who don’t seem to understand that the Bill of Rights has been overruled, and that specifically includes, but is not limited to, the right to protest and engage in civil disobedience.

Also ignored (as if it didn’t even exist) is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 which generally bars the military from law enforcement activities within the United States.

According to Public Intelligence:

“…for the last two years, the President’s Budget Submissions for the Department of Defense have included purchases of a significant amount of combat equipment, including armored vehicles, helicopters and even artillery, under an obscure section of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the purposes of ‘homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities.’ Items purchased under the section include combat vehicles, tanks, helicopters, artillery, mortar systems, missiles, small arms and communications equipment. Justifications for the budget items indicate that many of the purchases are part of routine resupply and maintenance, yet in each case the procurement is cited as being ‘necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities’ under section 1815 of the FY 2008 NDAA.”

And, they are not just arming cops and weekend warriors for domestic purposes. Active duty Marines are now being trained for law enforcement operations all over the world (of which the US remains a part) specifically to deal with civil uprisings, and the US government knows that civil uprisings are coming to a town near you just as soon as the fantasy of a healing economy is shattered, the US dollar fails, and unemployment goes to 30%+ in real numbers.

And, to you tough-talking Neo-Cons with your AR-15 rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, here is the reality: they will take your guns, and no, all your Second Amendment bluster aside, you are not going to do anything about it. You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state-of-the-art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day — for nothing. You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply.

That is your choice… for the moment.

Yeah, she is kind of flaky that way. All over the place and not making any sense.

As Adm. James Bond Stockdale put it,
"This is a very important lesson. You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end—which you can never afford to lose—with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be."
For those not familiar with the name, Adm. Stockdale spent 7+ years in the "Hanoi Hilton".

Photobucket I used to enjoy shooting with my Daughter. She loved being at her grandparents and my Father had built a table in their huge rural yard. Our favorite shooting game was to line up empty 12 gauge shells and shoot them from about 50 feet with a Daisy model 953 targer air rifle. If you did your part it would hit them every time. We would keep score and I usually won but not always by any means. I never could get her Mother into shooting. This is her holding a Colt H-bar which I really wish I had kept.

“pretty good indicator of those limitations.”

I agree, and as I said in another post, they’ve saturated their audience and won’t gain much more. What they have to propagandize is the start of their collection efforts long enough for the average idiot not look too hard at first. Still, the end result is nothing but chaos if they do.

As another poster put it, some people will only serve as human light bulbs to show when the attacks start by being the first to be detained.

They are deaf, dumb, and blind without us.

Yes, they are. They certainly are. Heh heh heh. In addition to Rule .308 and Rule LPG, there's Rule TCP/IP, Rule IOS - and a host of others.

I agree it may not be quick by any measure. What I perhaps should have said is, the quicker the better. If any civil unrest drags on the people will suffer more and more and look to government for even more ridiculous solutions. Add in to that would be foreign aid to the fed instead of to us as they see the fed being the final winner.

How much more public outrage will arise if the US Military were at home, killing US citizens who don’t want to turn over their guns?

The Left would applaud them.

“..The conversation would go something like this....”

Actually, it would go more like this:

Officer Friendly and Agent of State Accompanying:
Where are they? (once)

You: No gots ‘em.

Where are they (twice, raises rifle)

You: I told you. Ain’t got ‘em.

Where are they (grabs one of your children or your wife and places gun to their head.)

You: Hey! What the hell are you doing?

Where are they? (pulls trigger, grabs next screaming child).

If it comes to door-to-door, they ain’t worrying about warrants, or your rights, or anything else.

Do you think for one minute these animals wouldn’t hesitate to do you, your kids, your wife, and everyone in the house as an example to the rest of your recalcitrant neighbors?

And it would be because you resisted arrest, you had drugs in the house and a lot of cash, you were a white supremacist racist paramilitary extremist, etc., etc.,

Never forget who these folks are, never forget WHAT they are. They’re NOT your countrymen any longer; they’re the enemy.

AN ACTUAL CRAIG’S LIST PERSONALS AD

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

Date: 2011-11-27, 1:43 am. E.S.T.

I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled
the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend’s purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I’d like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn’t expect you to actually crap in your pants when
I drew my pistol after you took my jacket.. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. my girlfriend was happy that I just returned safely from my 2nd tour as a Combat Marine in Afghanistan .. She had just bought me that Kimber Custom Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn’t it?!

I know it probably wasn’t fun walking back to wherever you’d come from with crap in your pants. I’m sure it
was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].
After I called your mother or “Momma” as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of
what you’d done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, — on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was extremely grateful!
I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go’s, along with all the cash in your wallet. (That
made his day!)

I then threw your wallet into the big pink “pimp mobile” that was parked at the curb ..... after I broke the
windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver’s side of the car.
Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA’s office and one to the FBI, while mentioning
President Obama as my possible target.
The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).
In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you’ve chosen to pursue in life.. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky. Have a good day!
Thoughtfully yours, Semper fi,
Alex

I grew up in the late 50’s early 60’s in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I remember talking to a lot of Cubans who never believed it would happen to their nation until it was too late.

Dead on! Nothing like a $5 billion satellite surveillance system being taken out by a $1,000 network switch or 50 cents worth of wires. If a national asset is turned on the people, the people that work that asset can disable it fairly quickly. Deaf, dumb, and blind won’t win a war. Even the military has plans of what to do in case a military asset is used against the nation.

And it is no longer simply a question of the internet, and people dialing up with 1440 baud modems...

It’s MUCH more complex now. People might fear what would happen to them if the internet went down, but even beyond individual users, there are tens of thousands of businesses in the country that could not run without it. Include in that summary government itself.

My point being that the government wouldn’t just shut down the net some night, because the results would be catastrophic.

Also, with all the other platforms and technologies these days, there are tons of other communication pathways/protocols. If the gummint decides it needs to shut down the net, it is committed to shutting down all the cell phones as well, and indeed the land lines. Cell phones worldwide can get/send emails/video/images to/from the net.

“3) If the shtf, we need to have rally points set up so we’ll know where to meet up. It’s the fact that we’re isolated that makes this all so scary.”

...and safe. No one knows, so neither will they. No one knows where a strike might happen or what assets they’ll bring to bear. So, the situation is fluid. Be prepared to get anywhere well outside town, 100 miles away if need be, maybe even across rivers or lakes, on foot or by limited vehicles like an ATV, dirt bike, or donkey. Just keep your mind and options open. If the time ever came, I have no doubt you’ll figure it out along with the rest real quick.

Much appreciated. Insurgency is not really all that complicated... it's responding to it that's a whole 'nother ball of wax.

And you're quite correct about the brother-in-law who knows a neighbor who has a nephew; it's that sort of connection that's impossible to prognosticate or prepare against. Consider the strict scrutiny we employ in Afghanistan, in the middle of our most secure areas, yet the insurgents still find ways to a) penetrate; b) kill; and c) collect intelligence beforehand.

It's not rocket science or machismo. A quick look at the numbers, effort and risk involved and it's easy to see that door to door confiscation is not a succesful plan of action. As another poster said, the entire Metro DC area was tied up by two guys. How much did it cost to respond to the DC snipers? How many resources, over what period of time, and what kind of a logistical and managerial headache did it produce?

Multiply by a few more and you can induce paralysis. And this doesn't even factor in the media campaigns that insurgents would wage.

Proclamation of Citizen Command Council, January 20th, 2016
Any military personnel apprehended in the act of warrantless search or seizure in the Central State Region are subject to summary execution. This policy of armed resistance will remain in effect until the proposed cease fire is agreed to and all military forces (but not municipal, county or State law enforcement) are withdrawn.

Nothing happens in a vacuum. My facetiously silly proclamation example aside, one cannot simply discount public relations and insurgent media theater any more than, say, one can simply walk into Mordor.

There is also a difference, often forgotten, between stating that any individual would successfully resist with armed force and survive; and that armed resistance itself would be collectively effective.

Americans, as a whole, have been mostly willing to die for their country and their Constitution. Far fewer have been willing to die for a Leader or a policy, however sympathetic they might be.

I suspect that the most committed and determined anti-gun activist would nonetheless shelter armed Americans in his basement and hide them from inspecting State forces if he knew that refusal would result in his later beheading by the rest of that insurgent unit, were he to betray them.

War is ugly, insurgencies are foul. Shining knights in State armor don't exist, and neither do pure hearted Galahads of resistance. Hopefully some really smart people are in sufficiently influential places to ensure that such a forcible approach to bankrupt public policy, is a really unwise idea.

“...just the ones we need to be effective: Black, evil, assault weapons...”

My friend, a skilled man with even an old WWII Enfield, Mauser, or Garand and the will and determination of a person fighting for their very life can create living hell for these folks. A scoped deer rifle as well. Any gun will get you a better gun.

Look at the little stamped metal WWII Liberator .45 pistol. It probably put more German 9mm MP38/40s, FG42s, G43s and Mauser rifles into the hands of partisans than we realized.

It’s the will, not the weapon.

They can ban, demonize, scream and caterwaul till the cows come home. If we roll over and play good doggie, they’ve won.

If we instead show that we’re willing not only to piss on their legs at every opportunity but also “sic balls, Chopper!!” how enthusiastic do you think they’ll be to play out their little fantasy when people on their side start waking up dead?

Sure, some folks will give up. Not everyone is a warrior, not everyone is a sheepdog. Pretty much always has been that way. I imagine that a good many folks during the American Revolution were as pissed off at the Patriots as they were at the Brits...and they did nothing except watch out for which flag to fly at the end of the day.

But there are others - millions of others - who will carry the fight right to the living rooms, bedrooms, restaurants, etc., where these cretins congregate. It would be “War to the knife and knife to the hilt.”

It won’t be easy, it won’t be cheap, and it won’t be painless. Idiots like this *sswipe who wrote the article don’t seem to understand that.

Those who let slip the dogs of war are often the most surprised when the other side lets their OWN dogs slip as well.

What’s that old saying - it ain’t the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog...or something like it?

And this piece IS pure agitprop; it was written to elicit exactly the reaction it’s getting out here, right now. Guarantee we have the other side trolling this thread, right now, taking and making notes.

That’s how they operate.
