If there is one thing that anti-choice activists do that makes me see red, it is when they parade out their poster children: men, women and children who were "targeted for abortion". They tell us "these people would not be alive today if abortion had been legal or if their mothers had made a different choice".
[....]
The narrative that anti-choice crusaders are telling is powerful, moving, and best of all it has a happy ending. It makes the woman who carries to term a hero, and for narrative purposes it hides her maternal failing. We cannot argue against heroic, redemptive, happy-ending fairytales using cold statistics. If we want to keep our reproductive rights, we must be willing to tell our stories, to be willing and able to say, "I love my life, but I wish my mother had aborted me."
An abortion would have absolutely been better for my mother. An abortion would have made it more likely that she would finish high school and get a college education. At college in the late 1960s, it seems likely she would have found feminism or psychology or something that would have helped her overcome her childhood trauma and pick better partners. She would have been better prepared when she had children. If nothing else, getting an abortion would have saved her from plunging into poverty. She likely would have stayed in the same socioeconomic strata as her parents and grandparents who were professors. I wish she had aborted me because I love her and want what is best for her.
Abortion would have been a better option for me. If you believe what reproductive scientists tell us, that I was nothing more than a conglomeration of cells, then there was nothing lost.

This is one of those times.
Sounds like they need to be committed.
Perfectly said.

Good grief!
So do I.
This is something I’ve asked pro-aborts for years. “If you could have, would you have supported your mother’s desire to abort you?” I guess I finally have my answer.
If you truly believe that way, then put a gun to your head and pull the damn trigger.
But no, you have to be a whiney, ignorant coward instead. If you feel you are a "useless eater" then end it....for the sake of humanity!
“Before the age of 14, I had never been to a sleepover, been allowed to talk to a friend on the phone, eaten in a restaurant, watched a television show, listened to the radio, read a non-Christian book, or even worn a pair of jeans.”
Oh, the horror!
Well MIZZ Beisner you can always perform a post-birth abortion on yourself at any time. I promise we won’t stop you.
I would post pics of the 1st trimester aborted....but last time I did that, I got in trouble.
Living with the guilt makes them crazy. One clear moment is what they fear the most. Much better to be a lunatic.
It never fails. When these people hit bottom, they get out their shovels and start digging.
well.. if life is that bad. They can always self abort...
Agreed, life is work, getting ready for work, hate job, budgets, getting laid off, business failures, failed marriages, finally turn to booze, some relief.

Barack - Is that you? For once - I agree with you. I wish you were aborted too.
But... You mother did finish college and became a feminist. Don’t you remember? She took her clothes off and posed in the nude. Became a communist and all that stuff.
If you truly believe that way, then put a gun to your head and pull the damn trigger.
Even that would be the coward's way out - abortion means death by dismemberment or chemical scalding.
Reading that made my skin crawl..
no worries, when the health starts to go, I will use freon in an closed comfortable car.
@LynnBeisner Hi there. I saw your heartfelt piece on abortion. Is this something you're able to talk about on TV? Am assuming not...

when you grow up and realize that you have been a burden to your parents, the proper response is not to wish that were dead, it is to do everything you can to show GRATITUDE for their sacrifices. This writer could shower her mother with love and financial assistance. She could honor her in numerous ways.
Nobody enters life without causing a certain amount of hardship on others. We don’t kill ourselves. We thank our parents and do the same for the next generation.
An aborted baby has NO choice. This idiot a$$hole is now an adult and is capable of making her own choices.
If she feels she is not “worthy” to be alive, then she should pull the damn trigger!
Apparently, even the Christian ones didn't really "stick" with her.
Rope + Tree, Train + Tracks, Vein + Razor, Tylenol + Vodka, Toy Gun + Cop, Ledge + Jump ... Honey, there are hundreds of ways for you to make up for your mommy’s “mistake”. Writing this infantile screed is not one of them.
She still can.

... she must really be angry at her mother. I read her as saying she wishs her mother would have waited to have her so that she would have been a better mother, instead of the apparently deficient mother Ms. “Beisner” perceives her to be.
Sicking.
I believe each person has some worth. They (and we) just need to find it.
You stop that right now! Life is WORTH living, no matter what troubles we come across.
I do pray you were being sarcastic.
Wow. Do they actually think something like this actually helps their side?
been praying for 20 yrs, no ones listening, health still good, but at 60, won't be long.
At college in the late 1960s, it seems likely she would have found feminism or psychology or something that would have helped her overcome her childhood trauma and pick better partners.

Good God Almighty.
I read the article. I read where the mother was brain damaged, abused and was in poor mental health.
That being the case - Thank God she didn’t go on to college and learn “feminism or psychology”.
Female mass murderes are rare. But if this woman would have learned that crap?
The world would never forget her.
she is an evil representative of the PRO-DEATH cult that seeks utopia through power and coersion and desires less human competition for the limited amount of pie the world has to offer...
eugenics in all of its forms are simply a tool of evil to be used to perpetuate even greater evils...
we have a long road to recovery...
What’s more shocking is the comments applauding her “brave” article.
I hate it when the moral authority of science is misused in this way.
A fetus is indeed a conglomeration of cells, as is every other living thing.
Science does not have, and cannot have, any input on what value we should assign to particular conglomerations of cells.
Now where are all the Feminist psychologists preaching empowerment?/s

The author of that piece thinks that an abortion would have helped her Mom, but what she doesn’t realize is that her Mom didn’t have to feel guilt or remorse that afflicts women who abort their babies. An abortion would have only added to the problems she had. At least her mother made one wonderful great choice, the decision to give birth to her daughter!
I think I will pray for this woman. I hope she comes to understand her intrinsic worth, as well as her Mom’s worth.
Perhaps it is YOU who is not listening? 60 years old and health still good? That is an amazing feat!!
You are wrong....He IS listening!
Just do me a favor....start looking for the “little miracles” we unfortunates dismiss in life.
They occur everyday. Unfortunately, we, as man, refuse to see them.
I was in highschool in Rochester, NY in the 60's. College wasn't pushed for females back then. Most classes females took were geared toward clerical work: typing, shorthand, bookkeeping. The only languages offered were French and Latin. Having a baby out of wedlock back then had more of a stigma attached to it, but if a person really cared about making their life better, they didn't have to have an abortion to do it.
What guarantee was there that this moron's mother would have finished highschool and gone on to college, even if she had had an abortion? This dope thinks that her mother would have been helped to pick better partners by feminism and psychology courses? I don't think feminism courses even existed in colleges during that time. And you don't learn how to pick better partners by taking a course. If you have half a brain, as you get older, you realize the patterns in your life that cause you to make bad decisions. If you don't learn from past mistakes, then you really don't want to change the way your life is going.
Even the useless blob who authored this pathetic piece has a soul. God will require it one day. “Then they will know that I am the Lord, as I make their land a desolate waste because of all the detestable things they have done.” Ezekial 33:29,
” make no mistake, this person isnt ignorant or misguided or self loathing at all...
she is an evil representative of the PRO-DEATH cult that seeks utopia through power and coersion and desires less human competition for the limited amount of pie the world has to offer..”
YEP!
Actually it is a horror. It's insane to raise kids that way.
No kid should be raised in that strict of an environment. More often than not kids I have seen raised like that rebels when they get out in life via drugs, alcohol, porn or sluttiness or become atheist.
Her life has been a “Herculean struggle”? Here we come to the heart of a liberal. She thinks she’s a hero and wants everyone to know it. Liberals - self-centered.....self-absorbed......self-serving.....self-congratulating.....
Finally, some of it just doesn't make sense. In one part the author says if she'd been aborted her mother could have become a professor, but in another she claims her mother was brain damaged. Jokes on the contemporary state of Academe aside, which is it? If you're brain damaged, you probably are not going to have an academic career.
Well, the least the author could do is commit suicide. Better late than never.
