The shooter entered the building at 801 G Street NW at around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. He approached the front desk and said he was an intern before pulling a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun from a backpack.
The guard confronted him, and they had an altercation before the shooter fired, striking the guard in the arm. Despite his injury, he gained control of the weapon and held it on the suspect.
Authorities found two loaded magazines with 15 rounds each in the suspect's backpack, as well as Chik-Fil-A promotional materials, NBC4's Jackie Bensen reported.

FB lists Floyd Corkins who attended George Mason, a Floyd Corkins II, who also is showed attending George Mason, and a Floyd Jackie Corkins from Herndon. Not much info on any of the three names.

WASHINGTON — The man who allegedly shot a security officer at the D.C. headquarters of the Family Research Council expressed opposition to the group’s positions on gay marriage and had a Chick-Fil-A bag on him when he entered the building, according to multiple media reports.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, officials with the FBI, the Metropolitan Police Department and the Family Research Council would not confirm the reports that the suspect expressed his displeasure with the FRC’s opposition to gay marriage. Law enforcement officials said the matter was still under investigation and it was too early to speak to the individual’s motivation.
The incident could be handled as an incident of domestic terrorism depending on the suspect’s motivations, an FBI spokeswoman told reporters on the scene.
NBC and ABC7 identified him as 28-year-old Floyd Corkins of Virginia. Fox News obtained photos of the man, apparently taken by a witness, that show the suspect in handcuffs and his bloody shirt fully unbuttoned.

So he works for the Arlington, VA school system. He’s gay or he’s a raging atheist. Could be either one or both. I guess they could always add those to the mental illnesses they use to deny people the right to obtain firearms. But then no liberal would be able to own guns.

As usual FR is way ahead on breaking news, but for this story I doubt the MSM will ever tell us anything about the Perp.
Live in a distant suburb, 30 miles from the closest “city” and have a clear field of fire. I’ve been at personal defcon 3 for some time and will ramp it up to defcon 2 around November 1st...that means all mags and firearms loaded, safeties on but otherwise ready to go.
The FRC now know that they have a guard willing to take a bullet to protect them. Whatever he’s making, they should double it.
