Just because there won't be an industry to inspect doesn't mean the jobs won't be created. And after some suitable amount of time, a study can be commissioned to evolve the inspectors' duties to include some other activities that can be vaguely defined and will absorb the former duties so the new jobs can continue to screw the taxpayers.
Perhaps they can paint yellow lines around hazardous areas...?
save a bunch of money and just pay every cameraman be an inspector too. they get close enough and see everything.
