Irrelevant.
Fact, I know several small to medium-size business owners who are sitting on all their cash because of 0bama’s business killing policies.
These people tell me that if Romney wins, as soon as he takes office they’re going to start to spend those cash reserves, invest in their businesses, hire more people, etc.
I’m also told if Zero wins they won’t. In fact a few say if that happens they may close or move offshore.
I realize this is just anecdotal evidence as opposed to the purists reams of statistics of Romney’s term as Mass Guv., but I’ve known some of these guys for years and they’ve probably forgotten more about how to run a business than you or I will ever know.
Besides, Romney doesn’t eat dogs.
And frankly, I don't believe you when you claim "I support Romney now because ..." etc. Reading your posts and seeing how much confidence you place in the guy, I think you've always supported him but pretend otherwise on FR because you know you're in a despised minority.
An "America hating Marxist" --?? What the hell do you think Clinton was? How about Hillary? And if Obama was as powerful as you want to frighten people here into thinking he is, how is it we're even going to have elections? IF he's going to "destroy" America, what's preventing him from doing it before November? The truth: Obama is a weak fraud but the GOPe finds it to their advantage to exaggerate his power in order to frighten conservatives into voting for Romney.
Keep dreaming that Romney is "politically accountable to the Republicans." It is 100% wishful thinking, and YOU KNOW IT. If anything, if Romney gets a landslide, God forbid, and becomes a mandate defacto leader of the Republican Party, it will be the other way around as moderate Republicans scramble to get a piece of Romney's action. You think the same Congress too timid and weak to oppose Obama in any meaningful way, would oppose Romney? So ... this cowardly Congress is afraid of a skinny fraud but would stand up to a hardball political animal like Romney? Don't look now, Stick, but that's nuts.
You who claim to be so aware of all the power dynamics should know this. And as I say, either you DO know it perfectly well but choose to deceive FReepers for your own reasons, or else you are as willfully gullible as Charlie Brown playing football with Lucy.
Those jobs are still there -- they're just not active because of the envirowhacko aqgenda. And pal, take another gander at Romney's position on that agenda.
You are in a state of pure panic and hysteria. It's that simple.
Then what's stopping him from doing it before we have elections that might throw him out?
Are you really that naive?
I think that question is for YOU.
You sanctimonious purists are going to cost some of us money.
Gee, maybe I am being a little strict demanding 100% fealty to conservative principles. So help me out, here -- please list the items in Romney's record that a conservative who's ready to stop being a "purist" can support. Not what he says he'll do, but what he's DONE. Please, as a purist who is willing to make some compromises, as I would have had the nominee been Newt, Cain, Bachmann, Perry, or Santorum -- I beseech you, please SPECIFY those aspects of Romney's political history and philosophy that a purist like me doesn't have to compromise.
Palpatine, as you know -- the "purist" charge is as phony and deceitful as Romney himself.
But Jim, Romney is registered in the Republican party!!!! If you don't vote for him, you're just being a purist! /s
“You think the country will be better off after second Obama term, but I’m the pollyana?
LOL — please pardon me while I laugh in your face.”
You mean it won’t? But I’ve told that it will. A politician wouldn’t lie about that would they?
/Sarcasm
“Dont you realize this is exactly the sort of comment idiots like Media Matters picks up to show how Neanderthal we are?”
Have you ever considered the possibility that there are a large number of Neanderthals posting here?
So how many people have to die before you will be satisfied?
I think there is a miscommunication here or something. I was NEVER talking about death. I am talking about the folks on the left who will repeat every lie spewed out by the media without a second thought, and vote accordingly.
For most Americans of younger age, they have had it pretty nice growing up in the USA. Perhaps if dad doesn’t have the money to pay for darling daughter to go to college, and they had to work for that degree themselves, they might start paying real attention. (pain)
I know the people up thread deliberately took what I said out of context, so I didn’t respond.
No I think they took what you said in the manner you intended. You are wishing hardship on other people.
Its disgusting
Yes, you caught me. I also want dirty water and dirty air. Oh, and by all means, lets throw granny over a cliff. Good grief.
And that party is within our grasp. If we are set to the task and patient, the GOP will be ours (the Tea Party's) within another five years.
If you don't like what the GOP establishment is doing, fine. Get yourself in a position to fire them.
We'll win, 'puss. Without you.
In looking back at our posts to one another last night, I believe we totally misunderstood one another from the get go. The written word often causes confusion that the spoken word doesn’t (or does in some cases). You misunderstood my response about some inane comment McCain made and I responded in a somewhat smart alecky manner. It was down hill from there, lol. So I will apologize for the tone of my posts.
I asked what LOR was and immediately realized what you meant the minute I logged off. So we are good on that.
Your question “what would the gop have to do or say that would make you not vote for them” was posed not only to me but to others on this thread. I thought I had given an adequate answer, but perhaps not.
I am pretty active in trying to get TEA party backed candidates elected. As of right now, they run with an “R” behind their names. So until the time comes, if it ever does, that the TEA Party actually becomes a third party with adequate funding and access to ballots in all 50 states, I guess I’ll be forced to vote for the Pubs. I think a lot of people are trying to change the complexion of the R party and infuse its’ population with more conservative candidates. I am of the opinion there has been a lot of progress.
As far as Romney goes there is no doubt that he was the GOPe’s choice. However, an awful lot of people also voted for him. (As well as some dirty politics, but that is another subject for another thread.) The only answer I can think of to cure that is voter education, a tall bill to fill. In short, the GOPe didn’t do it all on their own during the primaries. I hate it...he was my next to the last choice .
I am not typically this wordy. I really wanted to do a rewind on yesterday evening and answer your question to the best of my ability. If this isn’t adequate...it’s all I got.:)
“The GOP will be ours (TEA party) within another five years”.
I believe that as well!! And if not a viable 3rd party could be formed and the R party will die a slow and peaceful death.
Dang, you are an impatient kind of Freeper. :)
Had you read the entire thread you would know that I signed off for the evening.
Since I don’t think we have crossed paths before..I am flattered...flattered I tell ya...that you would care about my politcal views. :)
Please check out my post 174.
I get from your answer that the Republican party could do basically: "Anything, as long as the Tea Party hasn't split into a third party."
In 2012, the Republican party asks you to vote FOR a politician who was the original author of ObamaCare AND whose record illlustrates a complete political career of advancing the homosexual agenda, tax-funded abortion on demand, activist judges, and the global warming agenda.
If we seriously want to salvage and rescue the Republican party from leftist ruin, we MUST vote to see that such a candidate loses; if he wins, the Republican party will get WORSE -- and please spare the hysterical wailing of "If Obama wins, there won't be a next time!" Ask yourself: If Obama was that powerful, why doesn't he just "take over" now? I'll tell you why: it's because he's a scrawny fraud, but the GOP's only argument to get you to vote for Romney is pure, blind, fear of Obama.
Romney's RECORD proves he's against my and America's best interests. For the Republican party, he is destructive, demoralizing, insulting, and ruinous. Liberals guarantee bad outcomes -- voting for liberals is ALWAYS a mistake, and Romney is a liberal. He guarantees a bad outcome.
A hard and much-denied truth is that the ballot doesn't give anyone the option of voting "against." Only imagination does that. In Realville, you only get to vote FOR on any ballot, anywhere, ever. It's a hard, cold, fact of life. Though many who agree that Romney is a liberal tell themselves they are voting "against" Obama and not "for" Romney, it is only talk. In action, in reality, they are on the verge of voting FOR a full-blown freedom-killing liberal on the false pretense that they're voting "against" Obama. Wrong -- they're voting FOR liberalism, whether they mean to or not. THAT IS REALVILLE.
I'm voting FOR a plurality. It's the best way to USE my vote to weaken whichever liberal wins in 2012, Obama or Romney. I can't vote "against" either one of them -- I can only vote FOR minimizing the winner's mandate, and that's what every single third party vote does.
Life is filled with “bad choices” which are unavoidable. The German choice was between Hitler and the Communists. Ours is between a Communist and a Moderate.
How many times have you voted for a candidate for which you were filled with enthusiasm? Romney does not hate America unlike his opponent.
How many times do we have a chance to choose a person we believe to be supremely superior? Get real.
As I said, this is like refusing to throw water on a blazing fire because you don’t like the color of the bucket.
Do you really believe that Romney will take more steps to increase abortions than The Disaster? Particularly with a more conservative Congress than the one we have. I don’t see it.
None of Romney’s actions have been on a Federal level and would not be attempted when he is elected.
Do you truly believe Ryan would be a part of such things? I am not Catholic but believe him to be a man of utmost integrity who stands by the Church’s doctrine with regard to life.
