HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
At the corner of Champions Forest and FM 1960, a north Houston crime spree came to an end.
After a short pursuit and subsequent crash of a stolen vehicle, Harris County Precinct 4 County Constables captured three adults and a juvenile accomplice.
Investigators believe the suspects committed a half dozen violent carjackings in a matter of six hours.
"If you want a definition of why we build prisons in Texas, it's because of these four individuals. These guys are violent individuals," said Chief Mark Herman.
Aiding in the apprehension was Ryan Hansen, a civilian fire arms instructor who witnessed the crash and watched the occupants flee.
"I realized suddenly that they were being chased," said Hansen.
That's when Hansen decided to put the concealed carry lessons he teaches at the range into real-life practice.
"As I was running after him, I was able to draw my weapon and get him to the ground and hold him there until a police officer could come and grab him," said Hansen.

This is Texas. I don’t think they do the whole “back on the street” thing. Especially for charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
That dumbass who got caught in Killeen planning a Fort Hood massacre just got two life terms plus 60 years. And he didn’t actually do anything. Given the average lifespan of inmates in a Texas max, he’ll probably only serve five “and a box”.

Yup. Our prisons aren’t equipped with revolving doors in Texas. We have plenty of extra cells here - so many we rent some of them out to other states - so it isn’t any trouble to lock this set up.
Many of the Louisiana criminals that got foisted off on us after Hurricane Katrina were shocked and aghast once they found out that 1) we don’t do the revolving door thing, 2) bail for violent crimes is significant, and 3) “five years, no probation” actually MEANS five years with no probation here, and life without parole means the only way you’re leaving is in a box.
Also, aggravated robbery? Texas law says 5 to 99 years or life in prison with a fine of up to $10,000.
Something like this, they will be lucky to get 20 years before being eligible for parole.

Wudda shock! Barack would be proud that these guys were trying to redistribute the wealth by stealing from the wealthier people. Just like Barack wants to do!
If wonder if these are some of those smart and hard-working people Barack was talking about who weren’t able to make a lot of money. But at least they were trying. They certainly were hard-working. Six jacks in six hours? I’m impressed. Smart? Not so much.
No wonder they got caught. These morons walk backward. Running backward at high speed is tough to do. Driving into boulders doesn’t help, either. Maybe they were driving backward, too.
I will long remember driving through that endless stretch of highway in West Texas, when I saw a sight more surprising to me than a UFO.
A very expensive Cadillac at high speed, maybe 90 or 100mph, on the freeway access, with a deputy Sheriff in hot pursuit, lights and siren. The Cadillac and its Nubian driver were decorated in full “pimp” regalia, the car even having a fur interior and two fuzzy dice dangling in the rear window.
And New York license plates.
I spent much of the rest of my cross country trip pondering the question of, were I live to be of extreme old age, I might see that gentleman of color finally released from Texas prison.
