As the Biden-Clinton chatter swirls, best-selling author Edward Klein says the White House has “put out feelers” to the Clinton camp about the veep spot.
Here’s the transcript from CNBC’s The Kudlow Report:
KLEIN: Larry, just before we went on the air tonight, I checked with my sources in the Clinton camp and I took notes because I want to be careful. And here is what they told me: Up until just a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary would accept the vice-presidential nod and replace Joe Biden. Bill Clinton was, I’m told, urging his wife to accept the number-two slot. He saw this as a great launching pad for her for running in 2016. But, then, Hillary had lunch in the White House a couple of weeks ago with Valerie Jarrett, Michelle’s best friend, senior adviser to both the first lady and the president. And she told Valerie Jarrett that she would not accept the vice-president spot. The lunch was ostensibly about other matters, but it came up. The vice-presidential thing came up. Hillary felt burned out after four years as secretary of state. But I’m told there were more important reasons for her not accepting.
KUDLOW: Such as?
KLEIN: Number one, she felt that if she were on the ticket with Obama and he lost, she would be tarred as a loser when she tried to run in 2016. On the other hand, if she was on the ticket and he won, and he continued his far, left-wing socialistic policies, she would have to defend those policies when she ran in 2016.

Hillary would win over a lot of voters who have turned away from Obama, but fondly remember “Clinton’s economy” and “the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years”. Responding with “Lewinski” and “is” won’t help us. We need to be ready with answers.

Yeah. Hillary’s shot is in 2016.
She needs to gauge where the economy is going to be. If she thinks it will make a tremendous recovery, she needs to be Obama’s Veep if she wants to be President in ‘16.
If she thinks it will continue to tank, then she is better off sitting on the sidelines and running against Romney (or the legacy of Obama) next time around.
Since it is far more likely to continue to flounder than it is to recover, she would be a fool, or would have to receive an unbelievably huge payoff in order to step in and save Obambi’s sorry rear end.
Maybe that’s why they put hubs daughter on NBC news tonight talking about elephants. No way chelsea is from bill/hill.
Wouldn't that be something if someone could get a cigarette butt or something from Chelsea and do a DNA match to Bill. I would love to see the results of that . . . and do it on MAURY on a special show.

The first African-American president stole the presidency from Hillary who would have been the first woman president.
He did so through a conspiracy of the Teddy Kennedy-Bob Shrum controlled Democrat Party elite and the media elites.
The party elite changed the rules of the nominating process after the process had already started by denying her delegates that she rightfully won.
The media elites allowed the boy with the Breck girl hair to stay in the race although they most likely knew there was serious scandal in the Edwards camp.
If a Republican had done what Edwards had done you can be sure that he would have been immediately outed and forced out of the race.
If more Edwards delegates would have went to Hillary early on the dynamics of the race would have changed completely and most likely favored the Hildebeast.
The Clintons are not going to do Barry and the Democrat elite any favors particulaly when an Obama loss helps Hillary’s chances in 2016 more than a Hillary vice presidency in four more years of a Barry train wreck.

That’s BS. Hillary adds nothing to the ticket. She’s yesterday’s news. Like Jack Kemp. Everyone thought Kemp was Dole’s salvation. He was yesterday’s news. The American electorate loves novelty. She’s anything but novelty. She adds no more to the Dem ticket than Jeb Bush to the GOP.

Bill Clinton is out there telling Repubs that they’ve got until November to save the USA. The only way Hillary is going to take the VP slot is if they’ve already got the mushrooms ordered for the inaugural supper.
Obama knows it. The Sept 2008 threats to kill Chelsea isn’t something the Clintons will easily forget.
