Arizona Makes Another Stand For Rule Of Law On Immigration
Investors Business Daily ^ | August 16, 2012 | IBD

Rule of Law: Arizona finds itself in more hot water with the left, declining to give state benefits to illegal aliens whose deportations have been stayed as a political favor by the White House. Tell us again what "illegal" means?

On Thursday, Governor Jan Brewer enraged the White House, the ACLU and open-borders activists by issuing Executive Order 2012-06, stating that her state reaffirmed the intent of Arizona law on state benefits — from driver's licenses to in-state college tuition — to illegals, which is a big fat "no" to all of the above.

That was in response to the Obama administration's "Deferred Action Program," a Homeland Security order allowing illegal immigrants under 30 to avoid deportation with impunity for at least two years — an act that mimics the Dream Act, which failed in Congress.

Well, regulations aren't laws, and Brewer's reassertion of state control is an effort to say that the law — and the will of the voters — matter.

Failure or not, this move shows that the governor is refusing to resign herself to the idea that the rule of law is only what President Obama finds politically convenient — and that budgetary discipline and the will of the people are both important.

Good for her, a real hero, but she is basically alone. Every other state is simply accepting this as a done deal. Where is Congress? Where is the conservative media? Where is the Tea Party? Where is Free Republic?

Obama legalized 2 million illegals, basically because he felt like it, and cause nobody has the cojones to say NO to him. For all the bluster about the Constitution, secession, and the 2nd Amendment I see on conservative blogs and forums, when the tyrant puts his foot down, everyone falls inline behind dear leader.

I called her office today and talked to Betty. Told her to tell her thank you so much and to give her a hug for me.
Also that so many are praying for her to stay strong and we are behind her.

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite." -James Madison in Federalist No. 45

If Obama can illegitimately create illegal "law" with executive orders, then state governors -- who have legitimacy and Constitutional tradition on their side -- can do far more within state borders with their "numerous and indefinite" authority. Today, Jan Brewer has given an awesome example to any Republican governor with the brains (and the stones) to follow her lead.

I’m starting to think that it was Governor Brewer who actually gave the SEALS the go ahead to take out Osama bin Laden.

Governor Good Hair and his good buddy Davey Do-Hurst are eunuchs, as are the rest of the GOPe. Nothing will ever be done on all the illegal crap Barry and his gangsters have pulled.

I’m willing to bet that Arizona will see a substantial decrease in the number of Illegals and states like Kalifornia will be getting a well-deserved boost of those leaving, especially when word gets out that they can get a drivers license there.

When the illegals whine “what are we supposed to do” the official policy of Arizona government authorities should be “Move on, to California or Chicago”

“Move on, to California or Chicago”

I think the ‘basic’ idea has been put forward before
BUT
What AZ (and other states with some gonads) should do is set up watering stations and hand out FREE bus tickets to destination of choice or near to, mimimum 200 miles from any AZ border,
Just have the buses on call, PUT them aboard, and when loaded proceed to whereever.
Eventually Canada can handle the US Govt and the illegals.

Maybe the states could also build their own fence?

Allow for Fed Right of way, like your city or town ‘claims’ 1st 10 feet or so of YOUR property to be ROW for utilities...

Then man the fence Nat Guard or even States Militia.

Either/both will cost less - in the long run - than housing, feeding etc etc thousands of illegals etc...

Add this one to the list..By Miranda Leitsinger, NBC News
Protesters opposed to strict state-level immigration laws confronted one of the key writers of such legislation as he testified at a U.S. Department of Justice civil rights hearing on Friday in Birmingham, Ala.

Holding up small banners with the words “undocumented” on them, four self-proclaimed undocumented immigrants stood up one at a time to denounce the laws, interrupting the testimony being given by Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who helped author the measures in Alabama and Arizona.

Kobach, who advised those states before being elected to statewide office in Kansas, and others were invited to speak about the impact of such laws by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, an independent commission of the federal government. But the session was interrupted by protests.

“I have received much discrimination. I am Maria Huerta, undocumented and without fear. I have no fear! You have to respect our rights. They are civil rights,” the 65-year-old woman, originally from Mexico, cried out just before throwing the hearing agenda on the floor. “I leave it there. Keep it. You don’t know how to respect human suffering.”

If they are undocumented and want to use

•’No papers, no fear’, why bother showing up to protest what you claim does not apply to you, you are,•’No papers, no fear’The illegals have no business protesting our countries affairs. They should go back from where they came and start protesting there ?

Politics is the same everywhere, it is the iron triangle of politics, business and media, they all stick together and lie for each other. This is why we cannot do a simple thing like enforce our immigration laws.

States have lots of old school buses, that would do the job. Why not drop them off at the front doors of illegal loving governors?
