If you will allow me to continue, I'd like to make an analogy. Simply put, the founders created a federal govt the was light and effective and didn't hinder freedom and states rights - a formula one race car so to speak.

Now FedGov™ has grown in size,scope and destroyed states rights and controls EVERYTHING - a semi tractor trailer.

So the President is like the driver, however electing a conservative isn't going to turn a tractor trailer back into a formula one race car. The problem is the government itself, not who is driving.

Thyere’s no prospect of war breaking out between the euro countries as the EU breaks up. There just isn’t and that is the point that you avoided. Changing the subject to the US Civil War reinforces my point about seeing everything through a Civil War prism.
