Don't think this thread made it to 25 yesterday. I don't know what Arbitron is telling him about his selection of guest hosts, but FR’s lack of interest speaks volumes...

At least give us Mark Steyn or Walter Williams. But I am pretty bored by any of the other substitutes.

Steyn and Williams both have a great wit.
Wheres Roger Hedgecock? at least he is intelligent and in tune with politics.

One thing is certain, Rush is single handedly keeping AM radio alive.
With half his brain tied behind his back. LOL

Have you ever considered Matt Drudge as a sub?
His show was great, although it was heavily dependent on show prep.

Interesting article here about why King Obie may start have problems with the youth vote...
http://www.businessinsider.com/the-looming-gen-x-revolution-of-2020-2011-8
To the Gen Xers, blaming, complaining, finger pointing, excuse making and especially feeling sorry for themselves by Boomers and Millennials are like nails on a chalkboard and Friedman hasnt said it explicitly, but has implied that Boomers and spoiled Millennials are on notice because of it.

Well, I am a Baby Boomer, and never got nothin from nobody hardly ever.
I funded the retirements of the WWII folks and my parents.
I served on fast attack subs during the Reagan years and never even got a GI bill.
At anyrate, I have been working all mylife, in the “system” since I was 14.
I don’t want to hear any whining from Gen X or Gen Z.
Suck it up kids! That’s what adults do.

In my gut I know Romney “could” be a great president.

HI HIP HOORAY FOR MITT ROMNEY AND THE PAUL RYAN'S EXPRESS !!!!!!
Lets get rid of Moochelle and the Kenyan. Let's flush Eric Holder and Lisa Jackson down the toilet. Let's rid ourselves of these tax eating parasites! These would be deconstructors of America. They are doomed on Nov 6th when a wave of poplar revulsion and disgust throws them out on their arses and in Moochelle's case her ample arse.

Rush is just kidding himself and destroying his own numbers without Mark Steyn.Mark Belling is solid stolid MidWest. Mark Davis is a guaranteed snooze fest and should get the hook. I used to like Mark Steyn but now I can't listen more than 30 minutes because his constant joking and humorous asides are too busy and frantic for me. His act has worn thin.....for me. Walt Williams is a numbskull on trade, is a free traitor, so of little interest to me but I'll listen 30 minutes before turning radio off

Why is it that everyone is energized about Romney Ryan except Dems and folks at FR?
I never saw a politician that was without controversy, but I think Romney could be fair and balanced in governing.
He is telling Conservatives that he hears us when he calls on Ryan to be VP.
He is not cowering from Obama like McCain did.
If we can get a conservative Senate I think Romney will do fine.
I would have preferred Rick Perry, but he was attacked ruthlessly and unfairly and was not on his game due to back surgery and medication.

I feel the same way.
I don’t begrudge Rush some time off .. especially now that he has his special Kathy to share it with ....... but, darn it, it’s hard not to have his program on each morning.
However, I have 24/7 and I can go to the archive and replay all his “first hour” portions for the past 2 weeks. That helps a lot.

Steyn never gets time for show prep, and is not by nature a radio guy.
He does remarkably well for a fellow that just gets the 3 AM call up.
Rush is the consummate radio professional.
He has time for show prep, he knows how to use the pregnant pause when speaking.
He is serious yet humorous.
He can relate to the little guy and the guy in the penthouse.

Mark Davis’s problem is that he is so condescending.
He is a good radio talent, but he is not that conservative and he is a condescending schmuck.
Also he takes his radio skills over the top, and wear them out.
I hate the way he makes sound effect noises and pats himself on the back all the time.
I don’t miss the self termed “Talk show boy”

I think Urbanski is right about Romney.
Folks here at FR are far to quick to paint him with the sins of Massachusetts.
He was the Governor of a deep blue state, he had to do the bidding of his constituents, yet he vetoed over 700 bills in his term.
If he was Governing Texas there would have never been a “romneycare” which would be more appropriately called “Masshole care”.
Ma is the land of Teddy Kennedy, Barney Frank and John Kerry who served in Vietnam if I recall.
