At his daily briefing, White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the administration is “disappointed by the Pussy Riot verdict. While we understand the group’s behavior was offensive for some, we have concerns about the way these young women were treated by the Russian judicial system.”

All of the above you wrote is out of topic.
OK, let’s imagine Orthodox pope in bed with Putin, so does the Church.
What about millions of ordinary believers? Do they deserve such an insult from a group of deranged leftists as well?
Do you really think a gay pride event like this in German church back to 1930s could prevent a Hitler’s rise? I’m sorry, it sounds simply stupid.

Absolute nonsense. Your ravings are obscene.

Also, I dare you to burst into your closest mosque and do exactly what the three females did in this Christian church, and see the reaction.

The trio were guilty of the crimes of breaking into a church and desecrating it. Had a bunch of protestors broken into a mosque in the US to protest the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood over our government, they would likely get far worse than 2 years in jail. None of this is to say that the message of the politicization of the Russian Orthodox Church or the increasingly anti-Democratic and neo-Czarist nature of the Putin regime is wrong. But as medium is message, then so to the legitimate means of a protest decides how a the message is seen. Breaking into a church undermined any political capitol the three had in Russia. Their actions spoke the anti-religious bigots in the West and to the arts world. And the protest by these foreigners only heightens Russian paranoia. If Pussy Riot wanted to help the Putin Regime, they could have done nothing better.

Russia sending three criminals to jail is not a concern of the US. Russia's support for Iran is.

Melas, these women desecrated the Amvon (Nave) of XXC (Hram Hrista Spositsela - The Cathedral of Christ the Savior). Only clergy are allowed to be in that area of the church. In the US their crimes would amount to a hate crime as well as criminal trespass, creating a public disturbance and if their were any minors there at the time, endangering the welfare of a minor considering the vulgarity they used...

The sentence might be a bit long, I am not going to debate that, but they most certainly deserve to be locked up.

They attacked the Church and it's believers in their "performance"...look it up.

“It hardly rises to the level of desecration. These girls are going to do prison time for publicly voicing anti Putin sentiments and nothing more.”

Are you simply ignorant or willfully trying to distort the facts, along with the rest of our leftist media?

These women got on top of an altar during a mass and sang a song called “holy sh-t” In my book, that’s anti-Christian hate speech. Not saying they should have gotten 2 years, but they’re hateful bigots, and they should be condemned, not lionized. And you should stop peddling leftist lies.
