The AARP plays a starring role in President Barack Obama's new ad defending his record on Medicare. But that doesn't mean the group has to like it.
Hours after the Democrat's campaign released its new commercial, AARP Senior Vice President John Hishta bluntly denied any involvement in the ad and scolded Obama (as well as Republican challenger Mitt Romney).
"The next president and Congress will decide the future of Medicare, and the candidates owe voters straight talknot just 30-second adsabout what their plans will mean for today's seniors and future retirees," Hishta said in a statement.
"We were not aware of nor have any involvement with this campaign ad. AARP is a nonpartisan organization and we do not endorse political candidates," Hishta said. "For the last 26 years, we've been providing voters with balanced information, without all the political jargon and spin, so they can make their own decisions on Election Day."

....no endorsement, but you kissed his butt so many times he got chapped cheeks
Biggest line of HS since the last time they opened their mouths!
AARP LIES and Seniors DIE.
Non-partisan my ASS.
LOL. Read no further.
Great fun is returning the membership card cut up in their postage paid envelopes
I toss junk mail from that socialist, socially pathological organization in the trash.
Hey AARP, you were a major help in getting the seniors to elect BO, so quit bitching about him throwing you under the bus. Live with it, we have to.
How is AARP doing with their membership these days?
“AARP is a nonpartisan organization.... “
“...we’ve been providing voters with balanced information, without all the political jargon and spin....”
B/S.... lies, lies and more damn lies.
Party-line shills at AARP upset, pass the popcorn.
Not much, because this won’t last long.
What we are seeing here, and in the media, is the realization that they will not likely be under the protection of the Obama and Democrat mobocracy, so they are hedging their bets.
AARP is in bed with Obamacare. Now they are crying foul?
Would be like MSNBC being part of an Obama ad and then appearing outraged... We are a non partisan news organization. LOL!
If you give the Devil a ride, he’s sure as hell gonna want to drive.
Well, the AARP sold its soul, it doesn’t look as if it’s going like the payoff.
As I am approaching the age of a senior citizen, I started getting letters from AARP. What pests they are...
Finally I took a big black sharpie and wrote on their membership application “UP YOURS, COMMIES!”, and mailed itback to them at their expense. Only had to do it twice and the letters from them stopped for good.
LOL! Hey AARP, “UP YOURS, COMMIES!”
“AARP is a nonpartisan organization”
I was an AARP member until they endorsed Hussein. I dropped out the next day.
Pure BS - AARP supported especially Obama’s cuts in Medicare so they could make big bucks in selling gap insurance to those who would no longer be able to get Advantage coverage within the system - they betrayed the elderly for whom they claim to be looking out......
Yeah, right. Too late.
This looks to me like the AARP is losing business to those new, proudly conservative, competing senior organizations that have sprung up and begun to thrive ever since the AARP openly supported Ubama and his Mengelecare. If the AARP wants to let the Democrats give them their talking points, then they can die with them.
Same here (basically).
I let my "subscription" elapse and now immediately throw away everything I get from them.
Here’s one place to get the video
If AARP is not happy it has a lot of ‘splain’ to do.
