First New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was rebuffed by The Boss. Now another well-know liberal musician has spurned the advances of a right-wing politician-fan.
In a brutal Rolling Stone editorial, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello calls Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's recent vice presidential pick, the "embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades."

I hope Ryan just plays Rage whenever he goes on rallies just to piss off Morello. This POS is one of RS’s favorite lib musicians who loved to rip on Bush at every issue. Morello’s only talking point is he was a ‘I used to volunteer for the republicans now I’ve seen the light blah blah’.
Tom Morello—commie born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I really hate that he’s such an awesome guitarist.
I just read his Wikipedia entry. Maybe he associates with the Chicago-Kenyan in the White House.
"His mother was a schoolteacher from Marseilles, Illinois, who earned a Master of Arts at Loyola University, Chicago and travelled to Germany, Spain, Japan, and Kenya as an English language teacher between 1977 to 1983. His father was a Kenyan participant in the Mau Mau Uprising, and served as Kenya's first ambassador to the United Nations."
He is a privileged elite.
I’ve never heard Rage Against The Machine.
Can anyone name a song they did?
Most of them have cuss words in them.
Celebrity worship is a sign of neo pagan decadence. The opinion of a pop culture guitarist is simply not that insightful or important. The fact it makes national news reminds us just how vapid large segments of the population has become.
“commie born with a silver spoon in his mouth.”
Isn’t that the way it always is...people who have actually LIVED under Communism and made it to the USA 100% HATE Marxism! By the way, how did his family make their money? Most of these red-diaper brats come from families in monopoly-type entities like utilities, don’t know their ass from their elbow about real businesses.
They have one good song...seriously, Renegades of Funk...that is it.
So, I encourage everybody to find video of Ryan with that song on it and play it on your FB and blogs lol.
Make sure you download their music for free if you like it.
Just STFU and play.
Nothing says “Fight The Man!” quite like drawing a paycheck from Sony for the last two decades.
One of their songs plays at the end of The Matrix.
They probably paid $50 for their Che T-Shirts.
As someone who has been in Iron Maiden tribute bands for years I can easily say that Tom is a talentless hack. My son agrees.
Oddest thing. I have never heard of this guy Tom whatever, but I have heard of Paul Ryan and fully expect him to take the oath of Vice President while, at the same time, this guy Tom something continues in his role as an insignifcant nobody.
“Wasted Years”: 2008-2011/2.
This guy doesn't get that the machine is a suffocating, oppressive; overreaching government bent on stamping out individual liberty?
Sounds like the dude is raging against freedom and freedom of thought.
He needs to change the band name to just “The Machine”
Truth is Ryan probably just plays RATM during his P90X workouts and doesn’t even listen to the lyrics.
#40 all-time on Rolling Stones’ most recent Top 100 list.
Well I'm sorry but that's just foolish. Morello love him or hate him is one of the best 100 guitarists to ever live, no question about it.
I absolutely love IM thru Powerslave. Later stuff not as much.
Have you listened to Iced Earth- The Glorious Burden? Every patriot who likes rock and metal should. Sons of Liberty too.
Morello is a perpetual teenager, mad at his parents because they didn’t buy him a car when he turned sixteen. He isn’t so much a guitar player as a dj who uses a guitar as a turntable, for which he is decently talented, strictly as a guitarist, he is barely functional. For as long as he has been a figure in pop music, he’s always been an attention whore, and always been a hipster commie. RATM had several catchy tunes, but every last one of them is needlessly political and wrong in it’s message.
Morello is a miracle of marketing and not a lot more. The irony is incredibly rich here.
Ayn Rand raged against the machine!
The Founding Fathers; the original Rage Against The Machine people!
It’s funny that you say that because I listen to their one good song in my workout playlist.
Never heard of him.
I suspect that Joe Satriani can play circles around him and if you think anyone you've ever heard of is an awesome guitarist, then try stacking them up against Tommy Emmanuel.
I bet even Prince could play circles around him.
The students in Tiananmen Square raged against the machine!
Lech Walesa...well known for raging too!
Also his great uncle was Jomo Kenyatta, the President of Kenya for two decades. Maybe his politics are a way of getting back at his father. During the Cold War, Kenya was one of our staunchest allies in Africa, still are. Kenyatta was one of only a few anti-Communist leaders in Africa during this time. I believe the US Navy maintained a base in Mombasa for a presence in the Indian Ocean. Today the Kenyan military is at war with the Jihadis in Somalia.
His bragging right and broken record talking point is that he volunteered long ago for the GOP convention many years ago during the early 90’s.
Honestly, I had the EVIL EMPIRE cd many years ago and those bass lines are his. BUT just like Newsmax guy who asked a sargeant in Iraq many years ago why he plays Rage Against The Machine when they are heavily liberal, the soldier responded ..
“I listen to their songs, but I don’t hear them”.
The Hungarians in 1956 and the Czechs in 1968 raged against the Machine.
Who is this anyway? Another drug-addled “musician”?
Exactly! So blind to their own machine-making mechanism!
I hear there’s a little raging going on in Syria too
I had a college friend from The Gambia. I believe their entire army fought with the allies in WW2 perhaps less than a dozen individuals — but the U.S. had an airstrip in the capital city?
If Tom Morello really cares about the “poor”, why doesn’t he donate most of his wealth to charity, or contribute extra amounts to the Treasury... instead of hoarding 60 MILLION dollars?:

Rage Against the Machine sucks either way. I can’t stand their music whenever I happen to hear it. Most of their lyrics are indeed of the pinko leftist kind anyway, so not sure how Paul Ryan can tolerate it. This response by that idiot band is obvious.
Exactly what you said.....these rich commies celebs/musicians are good at demanding that other people pay up....as for themselves — not so much.
I wouldn’t go so far to say a talentless hack, but I would like to hear how he sounds without all of the effects. That said, Mark Tremonti has more talent in one finger than Morello possesses in his entire body.

Tom Morello
you can tell a lot about a man by his enemies.
Wow, someone who’s never worked for a living bitches about a conservative politician, wow, rare like four leaf clover. Thanks ConservativeStatement.
I agree. he has a good guitar tone but overall medicocre guitar skills. He should have to get on stage next to Dave Mustaine so Dave can teach him how to play the guitar.
Just more lefties who talk big game, but are totally full of bullshit.
