Invoking his 2004 battle with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., thinks he can impart lessons to Barack Obama learned from his failed White House campaign as the president faces criticism from a group of former special forces and intelligence agents for exploiting sensitive national-security information and bragging about killing Osama bin Laden for political gain.
In a letter to Obama supporters, Kerry warns that “attacks, smears, and lies” can be effective, lamenting he learned the hard way eight years ago that “even completely baseless attacks can stick if people don’t call them out quickly enough.”
“No matter how self-evidently false the attacks are, or how disreputable the people telling them may be, there’s no attack that can’t take hold,” Kerry explains.
The problem for the Massachusetts Democrat, however, is that none of the substantive charges made by the more than 250 Swift Boat veterans have been debunked.
Kerry himself never responded to the charges, other than to call the veterans liars; and his campaign simply ignored most of the accusations presented in the group’s No. 1 New York Times bestseller “Unfit for Command.”
The group’s members included Kerry’s entire chain of command in Vietnam and most of the 23 men in his own unit; the gunner from one of his boats; the doctor who treated him for his first self-inflicted ‘injury’ which inexplicably led to a Purple Heart; and POWs imprisoned during Kerry’s 1971 Senate testimony accusing U.S. service members of being war criminals
Ultimately, Kerry never sued the veterans and refused to sign the Standard Form 180 request to release his full military record to the public during the campaign.

During August of 2004, in the couple of weeks after the DEm convention where Kerry famously “reported for duty” and the GOP convention, it was the SwiftBoat Vets that came out swinging against Kerry and rightly pinned the “unfit for command” label on this traitor and Communist sympathiser.
For their troubles, the Swifties were labeled “vigilantes” by Karl Rove and George Bush.But they managed to color the debate in the month of downtime between the conventions when Rove and Co. were asleep.
They did the country a great service by honoring their oath.
The following month, it was Buckhead on FreeRepublic that exposed the Dan Rather/CBS fake Texas ANG letter.
The result was that Dan Rather had plenty of time to find out what the frequency really was in retirement.
John Kerry is a fraud, a liar, and a traitor. If he tries to oppose the SEALS, he needs a trip back to the summer of 2004 in short order.

My analysis is that the strategy is a multipronged attack.
The Messiah lacks the resources and most of all talent to defend all the attacks. The Chicago mob lacks the ability to determine which battles need to be defended and resources expended.
At some point, one of the flanks may be turned and it will be all over but the voting.

Obama drafs out BJ Clinton for the DNC Convention and now drags out Lurch in defense of attacks from honorable and brave military men for Obama taking credit and leaking intel on OSama bin Laden’s killing.

Obama lost veterans (27% of voters) by 55/45 in 2008. Today he is down 58/34 and many of the so-called swing states our “friendly” polls survey have sizable veteran populations. The largest group of veterans is over 65 and older Americans not only don’t support Obama, they will vote in large numbers.
