Obama's Second Term Transformation Plans
American Thinker ^ | August 18, 2012 | Steve McCann

Posted on 08/18/2012 10:03:57 AM PDT by Focault's Pendulum

The 2012 election has often been described as the most pivotal since 1860. This statement is not hyperbole. If Barack Obama is re-elected the United States will never be the same, nor will it be able to re-capture its once lofty status as the most dominant nation in the history of mankind.

The overwhelming majority of Americans do not understand that Obama's first term was dedicated to putting in place executive power to enable him and the administration to fulfill the campaign promise of "transforming America" in his second term regardless of which political party controls Congress. That is why his re-election team is virtually ignoring the plight of incumbent or prospective Democratic Party office holders.

The most significant accomplishment of Obama's first term is to make Congress irrelevant. Under the myopic and blindly loyal leadership of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats have succeeded in creating an imperial and, in a second term, a potential dictatorial presidency.

No you did not.

Your sort of "Purity uber alles" "conservative" are the useful idiots of the Democrat propaganda machine. If you refuse to see the assault on the Constitution the last 4 years of 0 have been, your are simply to pig head blind stubborn to be voting.

Or a Patriot. Actively abetting the destruction of your country in a fit of childish petulance because your candidate of choice did not win the nomination is about as far from patriotism as you can get.

Yes, I did hear the same about Clinton. He was going to put people in FEMA camps... remember black helicopters? Every single election, the GOP tries the scare tactics to get conservatives to vote for their liberal.

BTW, freepers have been asked to lay off the personal attacks over this issue.

“As you know, you go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.”

Donald Rumsfeld

I may not agree much with Romney ....but unlike Obama, he DOES have the executive skills and experience to get the job done.

“The most significant accomplishment of Obama’s first term is to make Congress irrelevant.”

The most significant accomplishment of Obama’s second term will be to make the Constitution irrelevant, thus insuring his third term ... etc.

That one looks like he’s half-bred as a high-vaulter! Lots of bounce and spring in his gait. I hope & pray you’re right.

To me, as much as I don’t want Romney either...now that he’s got Ryan on the ticket, it’s a bit easier to stomach.

But that said, this election to me is like, what if you could vote to take Hitler out of power before he took complete control? Would you vote to stop Hitler?

While history repeats itself, and there are strong similarities repeating today, I do realize not everything is the same. But the path Obama and his cohorts are on, is too close for MY comfort....and VERY Hitleresque.

So I therefore, in good conscience, CAN vote for Romney, if it means getting the evil that is Obama, OUT and GONE from destroying this country further.

You’re right FRiend; Actively abetting the destruction of my country is just what you cannot convince or coerce me to do. As far as childish petulence, check a mirror.

We are not looking for "purity". We are looking for just a base degree of conservatism in a candidate. It is not too much to ask for. The further left the Dems move, the Repub leadership, their strategists, consultants e.t.c. follow along closely behind. This time they moved right off the plantation. I guess they wanted to keep up with their current opponent in liberalism.

This throwing around of the "purity" label just takes away whatever credibility you have. The Mitt campaign among conservatives has been reduced to hyperbole.

I feel we have to play with the cards we're dealt. Unless something changes and because my overriding concern is to have my vote truly count towards getting rid of nobama, I find myself reluctantly voting for Romney.

Same here.

Agreed. This paragraph from the article is compelling:

Many Republicans and conservatives dissatisfied with the prospect of Mitt Romney as the nominee for president are instead focused on re-taking the House and Senate. That goal, while worthy and necessary, is meaningless unless Barack Obama is defeated. The nation is not dealing with a person of character and integrity but someone of single-minded purpose and overwhelming narcissism. Judging by his actions, words and deeds during his first term, he does not intend to work with Congress either Republican or Democrat in his second term but rather to force his radical agenda on the American people through the power he has usurped or been granted.

Actually, the TRUTH doesn’t hurt at all... My apologies to all for the earlier multi-posts though.
I don’t presume to speak for any other FReeper, but my life is not lived in abject fear. I don’t believe that one mere man or woman can destroy the republic, any more than I believe that Mitt the Lesser can or must save it. The republic lives here, in this website, in my neighbors who “don’t follow politics”, in the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who DON’T think of the country, the military and the media exist for their personal glory or to further their social agenda. There are many millions of us that don’t live our lives at the minute by minute dictates of the President or the TV. You see, we realize that we serve a larger purpose than padding our bank accounts and acquiring stuff. I truly feel sorry for those who have laid down their principles, their morals, their patriotism and their faith to buy into the lie that “Mitt is our only hope”, but I’m damned sick of the personal attacks from the left wing; and don’t kid yourself, that’s where you’re standing now.
