Add the National Republican Congressional Committee to the list of conservative groups capitalizing on former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina’s secret meetings with lobbyists at a Caribou Coffee near the White House.
President Obama has repeatedly promised that his would be “the most transparent administration in history,” but the House Energy and Commerce Committee released a report yesterday showing that high-ranking Obama staffers, including Messina, used private email addresses to bypass these rules and meet with industry lobbyists.
“I will roll Pelosi to get the 4 billion,” Messina wrote Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America lobbyist Jeffrey Forbes from his personal account in March 2010.
The NRCC has bought ads on Facebook targeting their 160,000+ fans, asking them to sign a petition demanding “transparency from the White House.” The ad graphic features Messina’s picture and his “roll Pelosi” quote.
“Democrats can’t run on ObamaCare. They can only try to run from it,” NRCC digital director Gerrit Lansing said. “This is a prime example of learning about what’s in it and how it was made – after they passed it. The more America learns about what’s in ObamaCare and the secretive lobbyist deals President Obama made to pass it, the more they are determined to replace Democrats in order to fully repeal it.”

While the meetings have been extensively reported before by ABC News and the New York Times, a new report published Tuesday by House Republicans exposed a raft of email messages between industry lobbyists and Obama administration officials deliberately making plans to rendezvous off-site to avoid detection.
In several cases, the officials’ messages were sent from non-governmental, personal email accounts, which Republicans allege was intended to keep the correspondence from the public record.

Other emails show then White House chief of staff Jim Messina using a non-governmental account to discuss language for the health care reform bill with a pharmaceutical industry lobbyist. In one message from March 2010, Messina assures the lobbyist he would overcome opposition from then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to achieve more favorable legislation.

Arcapita was Caribou Coffee’s majority shareholder. In 2002, Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s involvement[6] with the bank led to a protest of Caribou Coffee. That same year al-Qaradawi stepped down as chairman of the bank’s Sharia board.[7]...
In 2011, Arcapita sold their shares of Caribou Coffee. As of September 30, 2011, no one entity owns more than 8% of Caribou’s outstanding shares.[8]...
Sounds like the Muslim connection has been broken .

I’ve had Caribou Coffee only once. It tasted like it had been through a caribou and I never went there again.

Sources say White House cadre bypassing agencies, jeopardizing security
JERUSALEM – A small group of officials working mostly from the White House are tightly controlling U.S. foreign policy, bypassing other government agencies and making decisions without employing the expertise of those agencies, according to diplomatic sources speaking to WND. The sources said some of the decisions may be jeopardizing U.S. security.
A senior Middle East diplomatic source said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently apologized to a Mideast leader, explaining to him U.S. policy regarding his country is being dictated by the White House and not her agency.
The diplomatic sources all confirmed Clinton has been largely cut out from the decision-making process, as have U.S. National Security Adviser James Jones and other top figures. The diplomatic sources identified the White House group largely controlling foreign policy as consisting of President Obama; White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel; top Obama adviser David Axelrod; and National Security Council Director Denis McDonough. Also involved are Mark Lippert, chief-of-staff of the National Security Council; U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and Jim Messina, White House liaiason to Congress.
The White House did not immediately respond to WND's request for comment.
A senior U.S. official referred to the group as a "politburo," using the term for the executive committee of communist political parties.
