Court proceedings against accused Ft. Hood shooter Major Nidal Hasan were halted by an order issued Wednesday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. The order came as Col. Gregory Gross, the judge presiding over Hasan's court-martial, announced that Hasan would be forcibly shaved if he did not comply with Army regulations and shave his beard himself.

Why doesn't the court just let him go? If the beard is part of his religion, then killing the infidel is also part of his religion.

He continues to receive his Army pay-— he should abide by regulations (with or without being paralyzed). What’s next disability claims for workplace “injury”. Sheesh.

Nah, tie the end of my basset hound’s leash to his appendage and throw a Chick Fil A chicken finger.

Quick and neat.

Too bad they can’t suspend his pay/benefits while he sports those goat pubes on his mug.

Unbelievable. The military court erred in this case to begin with. When this asshole showed up in court with a beard the judge should have told him to go shave and be back in court in five minutes.

If he refused the lawful order to shave, then he should have been hauled into a bathroom by MPs, forcibly shaved, and brought back into the courtroom to continue the trial.

Why the military court judge in this case has been pussyfooting around since June on this is ridiculous.

"Myself" should be "me" in the third paragraph.

Hassan killed a civilian: Michael G. Cahill

Cahill was a retired Warrant Officer.

Why not let the State of Texas try Hassan for murder of Cahill.

No, the execution would not come quickly. But the State of Texas still has a death penalty.

There is no question what a TX jury would find.

I thought that too, but for the word for ..

"by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces"

I just assumed it is a military court ... but your point is valid ...

Nothing's been adjudicated ... why an appeals court ?

perhaps a Field-Grade Article 15, one for each day he refuses to obey a lawful order. 1/2 a month’s pay each time...

Wow, the people we get the honor of meeting on FR.

Can you comment, not as lawyer understandably, on the comments in post 32 by Texas Fossil?

Will the State of Texas have any recourse for the crime committed against one of its citizens?

LOL! Don't be so hard on yourself, it seems like you've had it rough the last few days.

Thanks for taking the time to post all the nitty-gritty info.

It's much appreciated!
