Britain: Muslim Polygamists to Get More Welfare Benefits
Gatestone Institute ^ | August 1, 2012 | Soeren Kern

Posted on 08/18/2012 2:41:00 PM PDT by george76

Muslim immigrants with more than one wife will see an increase in their social welfare benefits beginning in 2013, when reforms to the British welfare system come into effect.

Although polygamy is illegal in Britain, the state effectively recognizes the practice for Muslim men, who often have up to four wives (and in some instances five or more) in a harem.

Currently the state pays extra wives in polygamous households reduced amounts of individual income support, in addition to the normal amount received by the husband and his first spouse.

Under the new rules, however, the extra wives will be eligible to claim a full single person's allowance (despite being married), while the original married couple will still receive the standard married person's allowance.

...

The issue of Muslims with multiple wives claiming extra welfare payments has been steeped in controversy for years.

In September 2011, a British newspaper exposé on the subject found that the phenomenon of bigamy and polygamy -- permitted by Islamic Sharia law -- is far more widespread in Britain than previously believed. The rapid growth in multiple marriages is being fuelled by multicultural policies that grant special rights to Muslim immigrants, who demand that Sharia law be reflected in British law and the social welfare benefits system.

...

Those women are eligible for full housing benefits – which reach £106,000 ($250,000) a year in some parts of London -- and child benefits paid at £1,000 ($1,500) a year for a first child, and nearly £700 ($1,000) for each subsequent one.

The exposé describes, by way of example, a street in a Yorkshire town on which all the residents are Pakistani women with children living on social security. There is not one man living in the street.

A society that permits this abuse of the working citizen deserves any and all fate that befalls it.

“It was once claimed that “there will always be an England”.What a laugh.”

Hard to believe, that they went from “The Accidental Empire” to this in only 150 years or so.

I should add, that there is a theory that the best and brightest Europeans were wiped out in WWI; if so, this is a result of an echo of that effect.

I’d be embarrassed if I’d published that article as virtually every aspect of it is wrong.

It claims the upcoming changes will allow polygamous marriage and allow those wives to claim benefits. Both points are incorrect. Excerpts from the actual government document:

“The Immigration Directorate Instructions (IDI) state that it is Government policy to prevent the formation of polygamous households in this country.”

“The Government has decided that the Universal Credit rules will not recognise additional partners in polygamous relationships.”

Polygamists can live wife of Riley... More benefits for multi-marriage migrants.

IMMIGRANTS with more than one wife will get additional benefits cash due to a loophole in the Government’s welfare reforms.

Their extra wives will count as single people rather than spouses under the Universal Credit system, meaning they qualify for extra money.

Asian crossbench peer Baroness Flather blasted the proposed change. She said: “We should prosecute one or two people for bigamy, that will sort it out.”

She criticised polygamous Muslim men who return to their homeland, take another bride and bring her back to get more handouts.

The story isnt true. The British (coalition) govt is in fact CLOSING the loophole in 2013.

Dumping on England here is jumping the gun:

Mexies here claim dependents back home —whitey is funding Jose big-time.

Two years ago there was a huge fire in San Diego county and for a short time EVERY California resident in a burn unit was an illegal alien, requiring 1/2 MILLION DOLLARS OF CARE PER DAY.

ZACT SAME THING HERE —just via a different mechanism.

In fact the Brits are AHEAD of us cuz at least their outrage is a matter of (insane) LAW and therefore more easily dealt with.

The world is under attack by Islam - from Egypt to the US states, Europe, Asia...

Hopefully, the British, American, and other citizens will force the politicians around the world to push back everywhere ; not just this one loophole.

***

The first Asian woman to receive a peerage, Baroness Flather, has spoken out widely on the issue of polygamous families claiming benefits.

‘Under Islamic Sharia law, polygamy is permissible. So a man can return to Pakistan, take another bride and then, in a repetition of the process, bring her to England where they also have children together — obtaining yet more money from the state,’ she wrote

We do that here, too, except the people involved are expected to forego marriage.

From that link, it looks like they will be TRYING to start closing that ‘loophole’ in 2013, and only if they get the legislation through.

Also, you have this little gem: “For a polygamous marriage to be considered valid in the UK...”

You’re already ahead of us, we’re just at the gay marriage stage, working on pedophilia next. Allowing any polygamous marriage in the US hasn’t been permitted for generations (even if done illegally). But it looks like you guys are already there.

Wow, talk about a priviledged class. People who contribute NOTHING to society, drain the people's resources, are responsible for no accomplishments and are fully protected by British law .... and for a change - it's NOT the Royal Family.

A citizen of Britian must abide by the laws of the country - but a Muslim immigrant doesn't have to abide by any law, but Sharia. Good bye civiliazation ... in a decade or so, Britian will join into the paradise found in Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan and the other predominantly Muslim countries ... not with a battle ... but without even a whine.

...but hardworking catholic “Polish plumbers” are certainly a threat and won’t be allowed to enter Britain.

United Chavdom is so disgusting these days. Godom and Gomorrah of 21th century. I thing it is time for God to do something about it.

And they have to start with killing their own Queen (of cource in a halal manner) bacause it must be extremely insulting for muslims to be ruled by a chick.

“For a polygamous marriage to be considered valid in the UK, the parties must be domiciled in a country where polygamous marriage is permitted, and must have entered into the marriage in a country which permits polygamy.”

The first paragraph in the link you posted. The post talks about immigrants with more than one wife.

>>“The Government has decided that the Universal Credit rules will not recognise additional partners in polygamous relationships.”

So the gov’t will give them benefits as if they were single, which will be higher.

It may be the policy to “prevent formation” but they’re handing gobs of taxpayer cash to the ones that already exist.

Good plan.....

Don’t get it wrong. They are allowed but disliked by public opinion and it is not considered racist as if they were muzzies.

Well, you must know better so I won’t argue. A few years ago my Polish friend was working in Britain as a car mechanic. He was complaining people weren’t friendly talking about “Polish plumbers” as they called blue collar Poles stealing their jobs. I can’t say a thing first hand.

Firstly, apologies for being rude. I had a migraine when I was posting that. The post in hindsight reads with me being overly rude to you. Apologies.

Yes, there are some people who dont like Poles, although its more the swamp of immigration 1997-2010. Britain from around 2001-2007 had a huge influx of Poles and Eastern Europeans, esp the former. Due to relaxing of EU emigration laws and a lax UK immigration policy.

The Poles though generally were and are liked by the British. In fact they are now held up as examples of hard working immigrants, as opposed to a—lazy grasping immigrants, and b—lazy dole scrounging Brits, whose potential jobs the Poles quite rightly have stolen.

But don’t most Britons (like most Americans, and most people in most Western nations) want immigration to be reduced?

And didn’t Cameron campaign in part on reducing immigration?

And hasn’t he completely abandoned that position? Is he afraid of being called names?

I don’t follow British politics that much, so I’ll defer. I would have thought though with the weak economy, and it becoming clear that Labor supported increasing immigration as a means to import more supporters of the Labor party, that maybe Cameron could have followed through on what would be a popular policy change.

Then again, here in the United States, we have a poor economy, and Democrats and other leftists are becoming increasingly comfortable bragging about how mass immigration means more future Democrats...yet the GOP still stupidly goes along with a policy of unending mass immigration that will inevitably lead to demographic and electoral oblivion.
