20+ years ago we watched Letterman every night. Even got tickets for the show - but it was our Honeymoon! But at some point he just started getting more liberal, and making serious comments that were very anti-conservative and I quit watching.

Exactly my experience and opinion. When he just did stand-up, and for the first few years after he took over the tonight show, I watched regularly.
Then, he turned sharp left. Have not watched him for many years.
