Israel and the United States view the Iranian nuclear threat differently, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, said on Sunday.

Dempsey, who spoke to reporters as he began a visit to Afghanistan, said that Israel and the U.S. have a different interpretation of the same intelligence reports regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

“Israel sees the Iranian threat more seriously than the U.S. sees it, because a nuclear Iran poses a threat to Israel's very existence,” Dempsey said, adding that he and his Israeli counterpart, IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, regularly confer on the issue.

“We speak at least once every two weeks, we compare intelligence reports, we discuss the security implications of the events in the region,” said Dempsey, adding, “At the same time, we admit that our clocks ticking at different paces. We have to understand the Israelis; they live with a constant suspicion with which we do not have to deal.”

The Kenyan-Muslim-Marxist POTUS would like nothing better than to have Israel and its Jews exterminated by their Muslim neighbors. What’s to understand?

If reelected, he’ll no longer have to keep up his phony pretense.

“.............said Dempsey, adding, “At the same time, we admit that our clocks ticking at different paces. We have to understand the Israelis; they live with a constant suspicion with which we do not have to deal.””

IF Israel is our ally in the ME, then our clocks should be synchronized.

We have to understand the Israelis; they live with a constant suspicion with which we do not have to deal.

Or maybe we should follow their example and not overlook obvious threats even (especially) when they make us uncomfortable.

Actually, it goes way beyond that. I had a long conversation last week with a friend of mine who just returned from a trip to Israel. One of the things he told me (which I had never even considered before) is that Israel’s biggest fear is that a nuclear-armed Iran would motivate much of Israel’s wealthy professional class to simply pack up and move somewhere else. He says they see the resulting economic disaster as the biggest problem, not the nuclear threat itself (since Israel already has their own nuclear deterrent).

Well, let's see. The Mufti in Chief has just aided and abetted the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt. He thinks that's a swell thing.

He's also done nothing to halt the Iranian nuclear program, despite the almost daily threats against Israel, and actually supported the clerics and the Revolutionary Guard against their own people. Obviously, he thinks the mullahs are swell.

His best bud on the international scene is the Islamist premier of Turkey who overthrew the Ataturk Republic for an Islamist one. The man who called the Islamic call to prayer the prettiest sound on Earth thinks that's a swell thing.

And need we mention all the Palestinian radicals in the US whom he has befriend?

But please remember: even though he has actually worshiped in a mosque, and received religious schooling in Islam, and was registered as a Muslim, not a Christian, at his school in Indonesia, he's not a Muslim.

He just hates Jews, hates Israel, and Christians, and the United States.

So I would guess there might be some small areas of disagreement with Netanyahu over the seriousness of the Iranian threat.

Excellent one-line analysis.

That's an interesting take. But in a world filled with crazy, blood-lusting Muslims, you can run but where can you hide that they won't find you? No, the only way you dispose of these rabid fanatics is to kill them — before they murder you.

"...they live with a constant suspicion with which we do not have to deal.”

This General sure has his marching orders.

How damned embarassing.

I don’t remember Israel ever being in a more precarious position in my life! It’s like they are facing another Halocaust that can occur at any second!

It’s like this general of ours is sort of happy about the way things are going. I wish someone who understands in Congress would call that bastard up for a Congressional hearing on his competency!

You know, with all this talk about Iran's nuclear ambitions in the Middle East nobody has mentioned another threat that is more lethal and has worked more effectively behind the scenes to undermine the stability of that region than anything else. That threat is a major military power with a massive nuclear arsenal ... whose government is basically for sale to the highest bidder.

It's really funny how nobody ever mentions that. I'm kind of surprised nobody has figured out why the U.S. has been engaging in a "war on terror" and these stupid "nation-building" campaigns to "promote democracy" all over the Middle East, while at the same time the radical Islamic royal families in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf states conduct business as usual.

Obama, our FIRST MUSLIM PRESIDENT, wants like every radical Muslim to destroy Israel. If the rich Jews leave due to the Nuclear threat and the country falls without firing a shot, then the Muslims win and America will fall the same way.

There's only one other time that I can remember where the very existence of Israel was at doubt. That was the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The Egyptians breached the sand berms of the Bar Lev Line on the Suez Canal and their armor was knifing into the Sinai. The IAF hadn't figured a way to penetrate the Egyptian air defense yet, and the ATGM squads were taking out a lot of Israeli armor. Israel had its back to the wall and they seriously considered tactical nukes. Fortunately, Israel found the answers to the anti-air and anti-tank missiles in the nick of time and the IDF turned the Egyptian move into the Sinai the biggest disaster since German's defeat at Stalingrad.

A war with Iran has not turned hot yet, but the Iranians (and other radical Arab regimes are getting uppity). Israel cannot wait on the Iranians to strike. It needs to strike hard and show its enemies no mercy.

That was the one thing that made me say, "Thank God For Nixon."
