American civilians buy as many AK47s as the Russian military and police

American civilians are buying as many AK47s from Russia's top armory as the Russian military and police.

The surge in sales of Russian assault rifles and shotguns are fuelled by firearms enthusiasts who are paranoid about the weapons being banned in the United States.

The semiautomatic weapons, fitted with high-capacity magazines, are manufactured at Izhevsk Machinebuilding Plant, Russia's primary small arms factory.

They are built alongside the fully-automatic military versions that are used by armies, militias and terrorists around the world.

In the United States, they have become immensely popular. Among hunters, recreational shooters and survivalists, they are known for being extremely reliable and relatively inexpensive -- and they fire powerful ammunition that is cheap and plentiful.

Let’s get the name and description right! It’s a high powered Kalashnikov AK-47 Automatic Assault Rifle with a high capacity clip capable of firing bazillions of rounds a minute with a single pull of the trigger. Or you can call it a machine gun. Either way it has no legitimate use for duck hunting which “journalists” think is the only reason for the existence of the Second Amendment.

I see they have the 5.45x39 now for under $375
Takes AK74 mags.
A bit pricey but still a good bargain on today’s market.

Paranoid?!
WTF?!
The left is already talking about ANOTHER BAN.M
It's not paranoia if the threat is real.

Funny thing...
Mine worked fine with the factory plug.
It got cycling troubles when I went to an after market plug.

Oh well, it was only a $20 mistake.

Good tip about the AK74 mags in the Saiga .223. I’ve had to go third party.

I love my ‘Bulgy’. You are right its cheap to feed so I can shoot often. As far as accuracy well this is an old picture from my second outing with it, but this was at 50 yards with iron sites.

Also as noted easy to handle, my wife can handle it with no trouble, yet as the range instructer noted on one outing I was hitting the target and raising dust on the far back stop berm. ;-)

***That makes them more dangerous, since they have associated with such a rough crowd. ***

When that travesty the 1968 Gun Control act was put into law it banned the import of Army Surplus 5 shot bolt action rifles because they were MILITARY! Police rifles, were OK to import as they were NOT military issue, even though they were the same rifle!

$375 is a good price, the cheapest I heard of in a while.

I saw one a month ago for $345 but was not sure if it took AK47 mags so I passed it over.

I’m still kicking myself LOL

Raising dust?
****!
The 5.45x39 is a tumbin SOB once it hits.
The first time I shot one just to cycle it, it was throwing dirt clods the size of marbles back on me at 21 yards?

What, you’re not a boater? Too many of us have had terrible boating accidents in the last four years.
