Europe starts stockpiling oil as Iran conflict looms

European governments are rushing to boost stockpiles of crude oil and fuel, anxious to comply with new EU rules and amid reports that Israel is preparing to launch an attack on Iran.

Belgium and the Netherlands have issued tenders to import a total of around 250,000 tonnes of diesel and gasoline for delivery in September and October, their agencies said.

France has also bought diesel and awarded a crude oil tender this week while Belgium is increasing its crude stocks.

"This is yet another unexpected source of support for oil demand… [It] shows how the geopolitical concerns about Iran and Syria are bullish for oil even in the absence of an actual supply disruption," said Seth Kleinman, head of energy research at Citi. …

Meanwhile, Oh-Bah-Mah is thinking about releasing oil from the strategic reserve to help his re-election chances.

“Meanwhile, Oh-Bah-Mah is thinking about releasing oil from the strategic reserve to help his re-election chances.”

Doesn’t that action harm the United States and help him politically? One more mission accomplished for the enemy of the nation, Barack Hussein Obama.

He can rule by EO and accomplish everything he/commies/marxists/muzzies/traitors want to do, before Nov 6th, if he sees he’s losing. He’ll just bypass the US Constitution and Congress, as he’s already done. I’d bet he already has a drawer full of EOs ready-to-go.

If he wins, he’s got 4 more years to wreak un-believeable hell and destruction on America and us. As TOTUS (Traitor-In-Chief), he’s got no worries about oil.

SHTF.

This would explain somewhat the recent run-up in crude prices, as the supply/demand fundamentals simply don’t.

Watch for another oil-glut soon, as countries top off their strategic reserves.

...anxious to comply with new EU rules and amid reports that Israel is preparing to launch an attack on Iran.

I'm guessing that the scales weigh heavily on the "new EU rules" and not so much on the Iranian concerns.

Or could be we have seen Obama light the fuse on WWIII.
With Egypt on one side and Syria on the other, both as surrogates of Iran, Israel is in a pincer. If they believe that Obama will be defeated in November then they will act on Israel very soon.

It seems that this activity might just have some influence on the world price of oil, no?

The kenyan needs badly to get the price of gas down before the election but timing is crucial. If he does it too soon people will be going to the polls as gas is shooting back up.

The problem here is that Congress and every other part of the society already accepts the EOs, no matter what they contain, as legitimate. We are already a totalitarian state and electing Romney won't change that. He isn't going to repudiate the EOs and it would not matter if he did because the principle of EO rule is already accepted by all parts of government.

Europe's being smart about this - what's Obama doing?

Tilting at windmills.

Dems believe in imaginary solutions... solar - wind power - maybe in some future but now? All take more energy than they produce - imaginary stuff... Delusions that allows liberals to 'feel good' about themselves.

Plus dear leader gets his national emergency that conveniently requires the “temporary postponement” of elections.
