Looks like six more years of Clare McCaskill

Thanks to "conservatives" like you that just poured gasoline on the fire started by the liberal rather than letting the whole issue blow over.

Three conservative candidates and we end up with the one with a documented history of foot in mouth disease. Todd’s verbal diarrhea is the only way we end up with another 6 years of Claire in a red state. 12 years in office and you’re answering nuanced questions on abortion policy off the cuff? C’mon Todd, you’re in an election against a mental midget, just pick a message and stay on topic. I like Todd, but we can’t spend the next 2.5 months trying to defend the guy. Imagine having to deal with another 2 years of Harry Reid because of this nonsense? Todd needs to step away from politics for a while and go back to real life.

I missed the multitude of posts here yesterday.

All can say is Akin is toast.
Romney was wise to distance himself.

Man up, apologize for the words and move on.

What the hell is there to apologize for?

He was simply implying if abortion was legal in the case of rape, some women would make false claims of rape to get one. That is a fact. There is nothing wrong with a pro-life candidate stating that.

He should simply clarify what he meant and start discussing issues the people of Missouri care about.

Of course, thanks Romney and his minions piling on, he won't have the chance and seat will probably be lost.

Akin may be a conservative, but he’s a horrible candidate with no filter. He should be replaced with Steelman or Brunner ASAP if we still want a shot at taking the Senate.

rinos really hate us conservatives. just another reason i can’t support romney.

One has to wonder how many conservatives like us are left.

The Republican party under Romney doesn't even resemble anything conservative nor do his supporters even here.

Why does Akin think this is something that should be at the forefront of issues in this election?

The man is a buffoon.

I had no idea this was a State crisis.
Now he has made it a National ****storm.

Way to go Todd.

Clayton Williams “crack” was worse politically.

Something like weather and rape being “if inevitable then just lie back and enjoy it”

folks should be careful what they say if they are right leaning political candidates

if not righties then say anything with no fear

i do sorta loathe how quickly we toss our own kind overboard

btw...i don;t know Akin but Clayton Williams did business with my daddy and he is a good man...just stuck his foot in his mouth

thought he was at deer camp instead of in front of a mic

Why not comment on the msm / demo feeding frenzy over a verbal foot fault instead of providing the rope to the lynch mob?

Because he is a LIBERAL and agrees with the liberal media attacks on Akin. His goal is to move the party to the left on social issues and he is succeeding.

A claim of rape may be illegitimate but the deed itself is never ‘legitimate’. Its an absolutely moronic statement.

Conservatives should be hysterical. If Harry Reid is Senate majority leader, good luck getting ANY conservative legislation passed. Akin put the entire country at risk with his stupidity. He should’ve gone on cruise control, he was leading McCaskill by a wide margin the polls. Instead he makes her the luckiest politician alive.

Who said he did?

He was asked a question in an interview and he answered it.

Would you rather he had avoided answering the question and said that giving an answer was "above his pay grade" like somebody else did?

Not only is that seat now wide open

If Romney and his RINO supporters have their way, the seat will be lost. That is goal. And, it is apparently a goal you share.

What a shit-storm this has become. So totally unnecessary..

Yeah, it was totally unnecessary that "conservatives" piled on rather than let the issue die out.

Not to make excuses for the idiot, but I assume he was trying to say that a pregnancy is less likely to result from a single act of rape than from a single act of consensual intercourse.

Ok. Let's do that.

1. No excuses.

2. Akin is an idiot.

3. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
