Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. (NYSE-RGR) is on pace to beat its own record of 1,114,700 firearms produced in one year, set in 2011. On August 15, 2012 Ruger produced its one millionth firearm of the year, a Ruger® SR1911™ pistol which will be hand-engraved by Baron Technology, Inc. and auctioned off to support the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action.

“Last year, Ruger became the first commercial firearms company to produce one million firearms in one year, and we were incredibly excited and proud to reach that milestone,” said Ruger President and CEO Mike Fifer. “It took us nearly all of 2011 to build one million firearms, but in 2012 we accomplished it on August 15th.

You know in your heart Obama, Axlegrease, and company had huge investments in gun company stocks (laundered via the Chicago mob).

Ruger has always made high quality guns at reasonable prices.

I think Bill Ruger’s Son heads the company now tho I could be wrong. Anyway I have noticed the company has gotten better about offering high capacity mags to regular guys.

I have also noted Colt seems to have gotten more friendly to everyday guys lately.

I carry my LCP everywhere - cycles well, lightweight, low profile and dependable. And AMERICAN MADE!

Good for you.  I'd like to pick up a 45 next year.  I'm not sure if it will be a Colt or a Ruger.  I'm open to opinions...

Apparently, old Bill Ruger himself was the reason why Ruger did not product anything much above 10 rounds for mags, especially on the Mini 14s. After he passed away, new management supposedly changed gears and now 30 round mags are available for Minis, but you better make sure they are Ruger brand. A lot of after market brands apparently don’t work well in Ruger firearms except Ruger brand themselves. I purchased a n0n_Ruger 30 round mag as a gift once to a relative who once owned a P85 9mm pistol. It was epic fail even though it was supposedly made for it.

My SR 22P that I just bought, fell out of my boat!

Same lake where I lost my 345 and security six.

Damn lake.

Anyone want to buy some ammo? I heard the price is going up.

There is one brand of after market mags which are always excellent. That is Mec-Gar. There are probably others but that company makes spare and extra capacity mags for all my guns so I haven’t tried any others.

I tried some cheap USA mags many years ago and they were awful. Maybe they have improved, I hope so.

Customer service is good too.

Sent in an SR9C for FTF problems. Had it back in a couple weeks with new slide assembly, same barrel (No problem there) and all the internals in the frame replaced.

Basically a brand new gun for the cost of shipping

Ruger’s customer service has always been good.

Maybe 15 years ago, I got an old Mark I, bull barrel .22 pistol in a trade. It was in really rough shape with rust all over it.

My local dealer sent it to Ruger along with $25. It came back looking like new with a new box and instruction sheet. There was one area which was pitted so bad that they had to remove enough metal that one could tell but other than that I couldn’t tell it from a new one.

All for $25.

Wish I still had my scoped Redhawk 44 Mag, but I traded it for a steel guitar!

Like their 22 autos, revolvers and rifles. Was never too hot on the centerfire autos, as I didn’t like the way they felt in the hand and while firing.

It changed with the SR9C. Sweet gun. Carry it on duty in plainclothes and off duty when the full size Glock or 1911 are just too big.

Yeah, I know, they’re never too big, but sometimes something a little lighter is a good change.

one millionth firearm of the year

Ruger would be producing 10 million a year if it weren't for Bill Ruger.

Check the 1911 Forum on Glock Talk

They have good things to say about the Ruger

Another good choice with a nice price point is the STI Spartan. Some Phillipine parts, but final assembly fit and finish is in Georgetown TX

Well, they look nice.  Knowing Rugers are good weapons, that's an additional plus.

I'm more of a clip man myself.
