(Reuters) - U.S. forces could move against Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, President Barack Obama warned, notably if he deploys his chemical weapons against rebels trying to overthrow him.
In some of his strongest language yet on Syria, on a day when U.N. observers pulled out after a fruitless bid for peace and Assad's forces mounted new attacks, the U.S. leader said Assad faced "enormous consequences" if he crossed a "red line" of even moving unconventional weapons in a threatening manner.
Seeking re-election in November, Obama noted that he had refrained "at this point" from ordering U.S. military engagement in Syria. But when he was asked at a White House news conference whether he might deploy forces, for example to secure Syrian chemical and biological weapons, he said his view could change.
"We have been very clear to the Assad regime, but also to other players on the ground, that a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around or being utilized," Obama said. "That would change my calculus."

Obama would rather just sabre rattle and do his hissy fit imitation, when in fact it was the Dems in Congress who prevented the Coalition Forces from pursuing the exodus of weapons of mass destruction into Syria in the first place.
What a load of crap Obama is now pulling, it was he as a Senator and his Dem friends who created these conditions in the first place!
LOL, Obama could warn them that this administration is going to stop lying and do what is best for the United States too. It still isn’t going to happen.

All joking aside for the moment...I thought something was up, since this is the FIRST news conference he’s had with the White House press Corps in months!
His “intentions” make for good soundbites, cause Lord knows we can NOT have these weapons, (many left over from Saddam’s reign of terror), falling into Al Qaida’s hands, but...if he is doing this simply to pick a fight to look “Presidential” before the elections he better do it with NO casualties, or he’ll be tarred and feathered, as well as being tossed out of office, at the very least!
