From your keyboard to God’s ears.

At the same time, the GOP does not want to give the Dems any opportunities.

He was a bit off in his numbers. Odds of conception by people trying for pregnancy are about 4 or 5 in 20. Odds of conception from rape are about 1 in 20 (which the study reported as being much higher than previously believed). But still, if some women goes to an abortion clinic and says, "I was raped" and they ask her for a police report to show she was "legitimately raped" as opposed to just alleging that she had been raped for the purpose of getting an abortion more easily, what practical difference does that make for the life of the fetus?

He should have just stuck to a moral argument about something that, in almost all cases, is a moral choice: If Person A violates Person B and Person C is conceived, how is it moral to punish with death Person C for what Person A did? Besides, if Person C is female, then Person B is forever depriving her of her right to choose over a temporary inconvenience to Person B. The argument would be that Person B had no choice in the matter. Well, Person C certainly has no choice either way, either to be born or to be killed. And, for that matter, that argument is basically a variation of "I didn't plan this pregnancy so I want to end it" or "I changed my mind," as though someone's state of volition is paramount no matter what: "Oh, I'm sorry. I see that your life depends completely on this means that I provided or was forced unwillingly to provide you, but I changed my mind and I'm taking it back, so you have to die. Hey, my body, my choice. Besides, you're not a real person anyway, so I don't have to feel bad or anything."

Those people calling in to support him staying in the race are democrats. Right now the only people wanting him to stay
in so the democrat can win are democrats.

It appears that FR has become wimp central. No wonder we can’t get conservatives to run. They know that at the first sign of trouble, conservatives head for the hills.

Byron York continues to say calls are near unanimous into Bill Bennett's radio show that Akin should not resign. The people who think for themselves and opposed Romney have probably left FR in larger numbers and we're left with mostly sheep who, when the beltway elites say "jump a little to the left," ask "how far?"

Sorry you ‘misspoke’ Todd. Now get out and then work to defeat Mccaskill.

Callers? Just how many of those supporting callers might be the same Democrats that voted for him in the OPEN PRIMARY?

I am going to beat this like a drum. The same stupid thing ushered in John McCain, again.

"Rape is rape," Mr. Obama said. "And the idea that we should be parsing and qualifying and slicing what types of rape we're talking about doesn't make sense to the American people...

Unless it's committed by a Democrat president like Bill Clinton, and then the media, and thus the American people, don't care.

"Rape is rape," Mr. Obama said.

Yeah, Barry. We know. We feel your assault on and violation of the body politic every single day. But we're still free to choose and in November, as an example of a truly therapeutic procedure, we're going to abort that monstrosity you've engendered.

LOL, you couldn't hear more passionate callers, not to mention with a lot of accents that sound like they're from conservative areas. One sounded exactly like Bachmann. It's the Democrats who want him to resign. That's a huge success for them and lets them claim that there are "haters" in the Republican party and even the Republicans admitted it. Having your troops shot down, dragged through the mud and destroyed is, surprise, surprise, a success for your enemies, not for you.

He did say exactly that. Everyone supporting him admits he made a mistake in his word choice in part of his statement. He apologized. Time to act like normal, decent people, accept it, move on and get onto the real issues. I guess people also want Rush Limbaugh taken off the air because of his "slut" comment about Sandra Fluke so he doesn't "hurt" conservatives? Let's get rid of every conservative who's ever made a mistake because we all must be perfect 100% of the time!

Except in this case the “soldier” shot himself in the gut with his own weapon. He will bleed out soon enough on his own.

So, he should have said "no comment" when asked about abortion? Get real. Conservatism is about being pro-life, pro-family and pro-marriage just as much about fiscal matters. You don't stand up for moral issues, you lose a big chunk of support from your base who rank those issues #1.

They just said they have had zero calls from Missouri. Bunch of back-seat driver calls.

Angle > McDonnell > Akin > another lost Senate seat.

The press didn’t care about a credible rape charge against Clinton... and they’re totally breathless now... Odd.

Good. Now step down. This is more important than your ego: the future of the nation is at stake.

Were you addressing that to Akin or Romney???

This is what a “legitimate” rape means to me-

A sexual assault resulting in penetration which is reported within 72 hours, and which results in evidence (DNA) being collected. Evidence can be semen, blood, hair, or skin from under fingernails or elsewhere. (There might be very rare cases when a comatose or unconscious woman is raped and does not know or even remember this would be an exception to the 72 hour rule and probably only discovered if a pregnancy developed—still there is evidence (paternity)).

Rape is a violent and devastating crime and rapists must be pursued vigorously. Wrongful conviction also requires that a crime be committed (filing a false report) and results in incarceration, registration as a sex offender, denial of many job opportunities, the right to vote and many the loss of many other opportunities for the innocent man.

For the President to say that “the idea that we should be parsing and qualifying and slicing what types of rape we're talking about doesn't make sense” is an idiotic statement. We do this everyday beginning with law enforcement, medical personnel, prosecutors, grand juries and trial juries. If there is a suspect it goes through the whole process. If the perpetrator is unknown, it may stay as an unsolved crime for years, but the case is not “closed”.

Hey, Akin. That ain’t even the point, dude. We all have some time in life when we need to just shut (*) up and walk away from something, and guess whose turn it is today. Your selfishness is about to cost us the (*) Senate.
