Gasoline prices rise, setting California and U.S. records [Obamugabe & Media Focus on Abortion]

California's average gasoline price of $4.129 is a new high for the third week of August, though the ascent has slowed. The U.S. average sets a similar record, and diesel prices raise concern.

California's gasoline prices may have peaked after the refinery fire at Chevron Corp.'s Richmond facility, but they still rose enough over the last week to reach their highest level ever for the third week of August, the Energy Department said Monday.

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in California was $4.129, according to the Energy Department's weekly survey of gas stations. That was up 3.3 cents from a week earlier — and 26.1 cents higher than on Aug. 6, just before the refinery fire knocked out parts of the state's third-biggest fuel-producing plant.

The sycophant media whines about not enough interviews, then they get a chance to ask their prompter-reading punk hero about record high has prices.

What do they do? Drool over Obama's opinion regarding rape.

Funny, when Juanita Broaddrick was talking publicly about being raped, VERY FEW in the media were willing to talk about the subject.

California and Illinois have the highest gas taxes PER PRICE, not volume, so the higher the PRICE, the better for PelosiCo and HusseinCo.

What was not mentioned is the loss of revenue that will result to California. When the price of gasoline and diesel fuel rises there is some reduction in miles driven and gallons purchased.

California is absolutely dependent on the tax, perhaps the highest per gallon tax in the nation, for day to day expenses. There is nothing that can be done to mitigate this decrease in cash flow. The loss of revenue to state already debt ravaged is a severe blow

Funny, when Juanita Broaddrick was talking publicly about being raped, VERY FEW in the media were willing to talk about the subject.

So-called journalists (stenographers for dem PR firms) didn't care about Paula being dragged by State police to a hotel room to meet Gov Clinton and 'kiss it' - either. If Romney had a credible rape charge against him that would be the ONLY thing 'the press' would cover. Shame on the losers at the New York Times. Shame on them for destroying the credibility of an industry....

Can you imagine the non-stop caterwauling that the media would be doing if this gasoline price had been in place during the Geo. Bush campaign in ‘04? But not a peep when it’s Obama running the economy.

The rise of gas AND food prices continues unabated. But they are NOT counted in the official inflation statistics, so the political class doesn’t care.

Meanwhile, ordinary Americans come back from the gas station or the grocery store with tears in their hearts, if not their eyes. Maybe they’re also out of a job, and are worried about their health care and that of their parents and children.

I hope that the rumblings of discontent from all these small, painful events lead to the sweeping away of EVERY Democrat in November!!!!

Haven’t seen ANYTHING about record high gas prices in the unfair and unbalanced Miami news.

I did live here six years ago, when EVERY STATION reported on the hardships of gas prices under George W. Bush.

The political question involved in these high gasoline prices is this:

Can Das Leader get re-elected with gasoline above $3.50 a gallon?

If he can, the peasantry is simply screwed.

In 2008, the price of gasoline was shaping up to be an election issue for the Democrat Party as a whole, due to Das Reichsb*tch Pelosi's INSISTENCE on "no drilling". The bottom fell out in time for the issue to evaporate before the election.

This time, it looks like prices will remain high due to the need for the stock market to stay high for Das Leader's re-election campaign. We'd better hope it torpedoes him.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula in the lib State of Washington.

About a week ago, my wife paid $3.41 for regular.

Two days ago, I paid $4.19 for 70 gallons of mid grade and I had driven past a gas station that advertised $4.49 for regular.

I remember paying $1.87 per gallon to fill my boat with 70 gallons.... I sure miss those days. I should have bought a 35’ “sailboat”!! grrrr
