Posted on 08/21/2012 8:37:12 AM PDT by tcrlaf
It's like it's the ONLY news happening on the entire planet. Anyone else noticing this?
They are spending 3 minutes of every 15 on this, and have been, all morning.
CBS Evening News devoted a FULL EIGHT MINUTES to this last night.
Same with NPR this morning.
Yes, I listen to what the enemy says in the morning. Helps get my blood flowing ... er, boiling.
hopefully their coverage today will help Akin see the light and get OUT.
The media is just doing its job. The overall, strategic vision of the media is to do what it can to enhance liberal / democrat / Obama’s re-election chances.
What, you thought it was to share the news?
Why not, FReepers are happily cheering them on.
And Buzzfeed is reporting Akin campaign just made a 8-22 thru 8-27 ad buy.
If true he’s staying in.
It’s been the top story hourly story on the local and national newsbreaks here in Maine too.
This will be the front page news mantra of the next few months and he will be pegged the poster child for the Republicans War On Women. Theyre probably making the ads now. This is no longer a statewide issue.
What could he possibly say ?
If true this will be the news from now until election day.
Its the “War on Woman” narrative brought back for an encore.
It is an idiotic phrase, but it is simple and easily repeated.
It’s difficult to swim against a tsunami.
While the MSM are fading, the journ0lists are still a significant factor when teamed with Democrat strategists.
CNN is mild compared to the Non-Stop of MSNBC yesterday and today.
Democrats and liberals rally around misspeak. Republicans wash their hands and capitulate to liberal group think out of fear.
My bad seems to be about the only thing...
I hope so too. But I am fearfull that Akin has a big “political ego” and thinks he’s clever enough to spin this so he can still win. If Akin doesn’t withdrawl soon enough the Republicans might not have a nominee.
Does anyone know if you can be a petition canidate if you ran in the primary in MO? I think he not only wrecked his political career he may cost us the Senate in that he allowed the left to take the focus off the Economy and onto Rape/Abortion.
I suppose we can focus on the House and the WH. Why attempt to swim against a tsunami that your own team is creating?
Followed by a bunch of Gop Reps. skinny dipping in the Sea of Galilee!
You can shoot up a Family Research Council office while holding a Chick-Fil-A bag and not get near the coverage.
It's been made easier for them to do so by some fool who said womens' reproductive systems have a smart feature that prevents pregnancy in the case of forcible rape. Losses need to be cut here, which is in dispute because apparently a lot of people agree with him.
CNN ratings are in the toilet. MSNBC isnt taken seriously.
NPR audience are left-wingers.
Let them hyperventilate.
Yup. But they're on their way out. They're just too relevant this election year but not as powerful as the last.
Akin needs to get and wear one of those neck braces like Kennedy did after Chappaquiddick.
I heard on the radio this morning that Dems had been donating millions to his campaign and that the deadline for him to drop out is close of business today.
Ask George Allen, Macaca lives!
Well, they certainly didn’t cover the Chick-Fil-A revolution like this. Maybe this crazed coverage will convince the clueless candidate that he is a loser.
A monkey wrench thown into our bid to win the US Senate. This is no longer a state issue.
Better to focus on the House and White House.
Akin could put his country ahead of his own ego and stop the bleeding, but he`s convinced his candidacy is “providential.”
So while he sits there in hiding, convinced God wants him to stay in the race, the ripples of his gaffe continue to grow wider.
didn’t Obama walk on water there?
Except that no one watches CNN.
“Dumb sluts” are media’s most profitable advertising demographic (and the Dems’ largest voting bloc) and this story is perfect for them.
However, like the Fluke tempest, it requires too much spin and repetition to maintain it.
They’re losing advertising dollars with this already.
Problem is it's The News on conservative channels too. From Mark Levin to Sean Hannity.
We need all three, or Obamacare becomes permanent. It’s all or nothing time.
Unless they take a fax he is purposely hiding so he won’t be forced to resign.
By continuing to appear on TV and radio shows and putting out ads, Akin is keeping the story alive and extending it one more news cycle.
Check out yesterday's archives for Conservative Talk Radio. It's not just CNN. The Republican Party has threatened to stop funding his campaign. This is NOT just a MSM fabricated story.
Unfair to the candidate? Yes! But politics is not fair. We have a choice to make. Is it going to be another 2 years of Harry Reid or do we get rid of the of the ball and chains. I'm more than willing to just focus on the White House and House campaigns. This is going to be hard enough wihout distractions like we have seen this week so far.
Well then, we in a pickle.
This story is good for at least a month, minimum. Another month for the media to ignore the Kings economy.
You’ve done enough damage already, Akin. GO AWAY!
Anatomy of a Mainstream Media Smear Job
You think they are smearing Akin? You agree with what he said?
Agreed. This “OMG, we’re going to lose every race because of him” is a bunch of hyperventilating, over dramatic b.s.
They’ve been launching this war on women crap forever, it’s failed, it’ll continue to fail. Nobody but Obama’s 43% watches this crap.
He'll talk about golf and some other thing for the first half hour, then feign a discussion off mike: "What? Who...Todd what?.... Akin? Yes. I heard something about that. I don't know anything about it...so what?"
He won't touch it out of the box.
Yup, he's managing to make himself the Poster Child of the democrat's claim about the Republican "War On Woman".
He has the right to stay in, but we will likely not become the majority in the Senate. It's no longer tha statewide issue.
That’s beyond absurd...”cheering them on” - no - we want him to drop out precisely because this is what we knew would happen and they aren’t comments that are in any way defensible. He just gave them on a silver platter ammunition to bolster their stereotypes against conservatives.
And outside of Missouri, how many votes is he going to change? None.
Nobody cares about some unknown loon they never heard of. There’s dozens of these idiots on both sides of the fence running in races every year. Their problems never spread outside their own races.
Yes, we are. And we weren’t just a few short days ago. All thanks to Akin, who is so arrogant he thinks he can ride this out, while he takes the party’s chances to repeal Obamacare down with him. That’s why I’m really, really ticked off at this one-man wrecking crew right now, and I don’t have a lot of patience with FReepers who think it’s no big deal and we should circle the wagons for this guy.
When a Republican says the word macaca in an election year, the drive by media is going to attack.
One more news cycle will lead to 2 1/2 months wmore news cycles if he doesn’t get out today by 5:00 Central.
We may have been Mark Foleyed again.
