Yeah I thought that it was strange too.
Maybe its a measure of Rat worry about Rat supporting student turn out in WV come election time.

I asked her if she gets another one to pdf it and send it to me. If she does I will post it.

That's what has me scratching my head about this unforced error. He is a six-term congresscritter. He knows how to win.

I forget which district he represents, near the St. Louis area, but it is not the same thing as running for state wide office against a liberal incumbent. AND most especially when you are a sure win. That old sow Claire was doing everything she could for the past year to hide herself from Obama... Personally, I think the poll numbers went to his head and he forgot what a lying conniving snake he is running against. AND her biggest campaign contributor the JonStewart media...

I get the feeling that he’s doing a political wind check and he’ll watch the polls and the response he gets over the next couple of weeks, I also feel like McCaskill will hold off until that Sept 25 deadline approaches, if he’s still on the ballot, she’s going to go nuclear on him.

Ideally the left desperately WANTS him on the ballot, but I don’t think they necessarily want to fully unload on him until that deadline passes and no further changes could be made to the ballot, but the longer he stays on, the less chance a newer candidate would have to run on anything other than “I’m not Claire McCaskill”, which considering the level of McCaskill’s incompetence, could possibly just be enough.

The Democrats, who excuse a lot in their nominees, would demand that this person step down because he sounded like a crackpot.

That's funny, you just reminded me of somebody. Ever hear of Geoffrey Fieger? Hey, cc, remember Geoff? Suddenly I feel a teeny bit sorry for MI Rats...(I am sure it'll pass very quickly)

“I haven’t done anything morally or ethically wrong,”

What world does this idiot live in?

If getting elected had only to do with ethics and morals we wouldn’t have the current idiot in the White House, nor would we have had Bill Clinton, John Kennedy, FDR, or assorted other scoundrels in there.

Its about a lot more.

And flushing that witch (figuratively - no attack meant on Wiccans) McCaskell out of office is more important to the salvation of America than this idiot’s political career.

Forget that! The Demoncats have as their keynote speaker for the convention one William Jefferson Clinton. Mr. Akin misspoke on the subject of rape.
There are some including myself who believe Mr. Clinton is an unindicted rapist!
Mr. Akin won the primary, end of story. It is time to challenge the propaganda wing of the Odumbo reelection campaign ( the main stream media) and if they want this fight I say let’er rip.

Screw the Dems and their War on Women meme. Most Liberal women are at war with themselves, Just ask Rosie O’whatever!

Time to fight the war of idea’s. Take it to the people!! The American People have had it with these disgusting, self hating Anti American POS’s and their fake outrage!

If the country and the election hinge on this horse crap, were screwed already. Let’s have it out and let the chips fall where they may.

Exactly. It's all about making a point and if it helps the leftist Dem, then so be it.

This guy wasn’t able to competently answer a basic question about an issue that supposedly is near and dear to his heart. What does that say about his master of other issues.

I don't know anything about him but so far - I am unimpressed with his communication skills. That is the MAIN THING in the U.S. Senate - they debate and "speechify" much more than the members of the House.... If he gets this tangled up in an issue that he should know backward and forward... what will he do when/if he is debating other issues????

Meh. I was just pointing out this isn’t his first rodeo...and I agree it’s a lot different in a statewide race. Two large urban areas, both with “flexible” polling place hours.

But the PPP poll numbers were rigged with Pubbie oversampling of +6%, which makes it pure fabrication. GOP does not turn out +6% in elections. No, I think the problem with Mr. Akin is he believes his own press releases.

"Why punish the child?" is all he needed to say. Period. It's a solid position. But, he couldn't help myself.

Amen. His misguided distinction of "legitimate" rape and awkward explanation of the physiological responses involved were absolutely irrelevant to the question he'd been asked.

"What about (pregnancy due to) rape?"

We all know that rape can result in pregnancy. You don't need to preface your response with some unrelated mumbo-jumbo to try to make yourself appear "moderate".

Some people just are not ready for prime time. Akin, unfortunately, is one of them.

Pretty damn disgusting, but for two days in a row now the liberal LOCAL Miami asswipe media has been running the Akin story...in a big way.

I believe the liberal media and Democrats (one in the same) ARE COLLUDING to make this a new issue.

I supported Akin at first, but believe this has now become too big...he ought to bow out gracefully.

He was not wrong for his position (I even posted a thread that quoted from a book that said basically what he said), but the gaffe is not the issue anymore. I’d rather see a more liberal Republican in that seat than have McCaskill there.

You know, you could very well frame this as a failure of the Republican leadership, ESPECIALLY Mitt Romney.

They simply HAD TO show Sarah Palin who was boss in Missouri, instead of backing their most successful Republican field general's call.

Claire McCackle p0wns you, Mittens. Nice job, StuPublicans.

No, he’s not beating her in the polls, the Democrat pollster had to do something like a 12-pt swing oversampling MO Republicans just to show him competitive (and no doubt try to encourage him to stay in).

If giving not just a Senate seat but the whole Senate to the Dems isn’t immoral and wrong, I don’t know what is!

The infuriating thing is that this guy was basically brought to us by Mike Huckabee, whose one true talent is a deft touch when discussing socially conservative positions. It really makes it clear that Akin is a dense, stubborn moron who lives in a bubble and doesn’t learn from his colleagues or his mistakes.

There was no upside to what Akin said, even if he was right, but just look at what the downside was....You have to be smart about these things.

He is a Tea Party candidate and has the endorsement of heavy hitting conservatives, including Mike Huckabee
and Michele Bachmann.

Todd Akin voted for Paul Ryan’s FY 2012 budget, which would restructure Medicare.[15]

Akin is an outspoken opponent of abortion in all cases, including health reasons or in cases of rape or incest. He opposes embryonic stem cell research, is a supporter of the right to keep and bear arms, and is generally opposed to increases in taxation and spending. As a U.S. Representative, he has continued to support these views, earning a 96% rating from the American Conservative Union in 2008, and 100% in 2007.[16] Akin has an A rating from the National Rifle Association.[17]

Akin is a staunch advocate of a federal prohibition of online poker. In 2006, he co-sponsored H.R. 4411, the Goodlatte-Leach Internet Gambling Prohibition Act,[18] and H.R. 4777, the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act.[19]

Akin has spent significant time working on military and veterans issues. On the House Armed Services Committee he currently serves as the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, which handles all Navy and Air Force issues. In the past he has served as Ranking Republican on the Seapower Subcommittee and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. Akin has also introduced a number of veterans-related bills, most notably the Open Burn Pit Registry Act, which creates a registry for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who were exposed to burn pits.

It is absolutely amazing that just 2 men that have worn the GOP mantle for decades have very likely doomed America to a financial and social disintegration. John Roberts, with his convoluted and mystifying opinion, and now Todd Akin, by his refusal to quit for the good of the nation, are attempting to make Obama’s legacy a permanent stain on the Constitution.

If the Senate ends up 50-50 because of this Republicans would be in the majority because Paul Ryan would be the tie vote if Romney wins
++++++++++++++++++++

Hope none of the GOP senators gets a case of “Jumpin Jim Jeffords” syndrome.

At 50/50....GOP whips will have go overtime while playing DEVO’s “whip it”.

The Tea Party people I heard of were against him. Plus he was endorsed by ultramoderate Mike Huckabee, who was touted this year, to be the man who, “ended rightwing dominance of talk radio.” The left was going crazy for him in the spring. The Democrats also spent $1.5 million backing Akin.

So this guy is considering it but he is determined to make it as difficult as possible to replace him instead of announcing today. IDIOT!!!
