Judge: Fort Hood suspect's beard disrupts court
Boston Globe ^ | August 22, 2012 | Angela K. Brown

A judge has the right to order an Army psychiatrist charged in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting rampage to be forcibly shaved before his murder trial, military attorneys told an appeals court Wednesday.

The attorneys, in a document filed on behalf of Col. Gregory Gross, contend that forcibly shaving Maj. Nidal Hasan would not violate the American-born Muslim’s religious freedoms and said it is similar to ‘‘and no more invasive than’’ a judge’s right to restrain a defendant who is disruptive during a court-martial.

To ensure a smooth shave you need a good lubricant. Warmed over bacon grease works very well for this purpose.

He “served” without a beard for a lot of years and made no demand to grow one. “F” him!

Since he did what he did on a base, he should have died in a hail of gunfire before getting off the first round and certainly before the second.

But why would our military carry weapons?

And why is cutting the soon to be dead man's beard even an issue? Why is he still breathing? That's the real issue.

Take care of that and the beard problem is solved.

Am I the only one who can’t understand Angela’s article? To paraphrase: Military attorneys say this and that and now that the judge has responded, the appeals court can make a decision. What does that mean? Responded to what? To the attorneys? Why would a judge respond to attorneys? Attorneys respond to judges. Can’t she just differentiate which judge of which court, responded to what, by saying what. If attroneys responded to something they did so on behalf of someone. Who? What? Why? When? Where? Come on, Angela.

I’ll bring the rope!

Initially, I wanted him dead, but, now, I think that spending the rest of his life in prison in a wheelchair, while contemplating the fact that it was a woman — and a small woman, at that — who drilled him, is just dandy.

I have second thoughts on this. Is it possible that the judge forsees some sort of mistrial because the jury may think the beard makes him look muslim? I mean, without the beard they couldn’t attempt something like that.

Just speculating.

The judge can conclude the religious beliefs about the beard were not observed by the defendant prior to his acts of murder, during which time he conformed to the US military regs for beard.

Therefore the beliefs are not highly valued. Had he raised the claims prior to his acts of murder, he might have been released from service.

But now, having used in effect al Taqqiya in the form of shaving, in order to commit acts of murder and terror, he should be forced to appear in court unshaved, so witnesses can identify him.

So ruled. The case may proceed. Baliff, please shave the defendant.

Hey, I live about 100 miles from Ft Hood and would be willing to go there and shave his beard - about two inches above his Adam’s apple with a dull fillet knife. I hate this a hole as much as I hate dims.

Let him keep his beard. The noose will still go around his neck.

The best idea I’ve heard is to slip him a Mickey, shave him and use permanent laser hair removal on his entire chin. Then when he next appears in court, have the judge order him to not grow another beard.

Then watch the fun as his chin obeys the court order, and no matter what he does, his beard doesn’t grow.

Weed Whacker would be my choice, but only after he was waterboarded a few times to soften it up.

It would be first choice as well, but I'd want to start at his ankles, and skin him alive. Did ya ever see what a weed whacker does to the bark on a tree?

Did he shave while on active duty? If yes, tie the b**tard down and dry shave him with a straight razor. Then get along with the business of the court, not this B.S..

I can't believe that a military court is putting up with this crap from this man.

The Kenyan must go.
