This guy is no victim.

He made a really stupid comment in a senate race not the town council race.
He made things worse by going on the Hannity radio show sounding like a delusional fool.

He won the primary because there were 8 candidates in an open primary.
The Dems and Claire gave him a roughly 2 million in ads attacking his rivals .
Then that disaster Huck stuck his nose in the race too.

Amen. The piling on is not helping conservative causes.

Akin’s mistake was opening his mouth on the subject and that's why he's being thrown to the wolves. There is no abortion narrative that can win, with or without the stupid “misstatements”. The best thing a conservative politician can do regarding abortion is to keep their mouths shut. Find a short concise position that runs right down the middle and don't elaborate even one word beyond the scripted one liner response. Vote how you believe, otherwise keep your mouth shut and solve the economic problems facing this country.

Where Akin is on the issues is completely irrelevant.

Oh so issues don't count to you. They do to the voters of Missouri.

His continue presence in the race damages Republicans’ chances of re-capturing the Senate

That is pure BS. Check the Rasmussen polls lately. Republicans are assured between 4 - 8 seats and that is enough to take back the Senate.

and are already allowing the democrats to avoid talking about Obama’s miserable record.

Is there something wrong with Romney's lips and Ryans and GOP's. Quit your bellyaching and go win an election.

Bingo. It's sort of like a Republican candidate who accidentally said "the KKK is great" when he really meant "the KKK is hate." Very unfair...but now get out of the way.

Rush was backing up BIG TIME. The fat faced party machine guy was really sucking wind. You are right . Vanity is just a punk hack for the Rockefeller republicrats. He is a joke.
Women stop ovulating when violently attacked . It is a medical and physiological fact with loads of empirical data. That argument is over.
The real question for us to sleep on on is this!! Do we execute the human baby because Mommy now thinks she didn’t give consent? But we don’t execute the raping Daddy — right? That would be capital punishment for a crime. What crime did the child commit?

I've been accused of holding out for a "perfect" candidate because Romney clearly isn't "good enough". What you are telling me is that Akin's unfortunate episode, his imperfection, makes him unsuitable for the Senate. Are you willing to concede that Romney is unsuitable for the Executive Office due to an entire career of unfortunate missteps? When did the GOP gang up and request Romney to step aside for authoring ObamaCare, or signing gay marriage permits, approving of the federal bailouts, or investing in a company that "disposes" of aborted babies? I missed that display of moral high ground. I rather think the GOP is piling egg on its own face at the moment and needs to consider walking this attack on Akin back a bit.

And everytime he's going to try to talk about issues, all he will asked about and be remembered for is being the "Rape Guy".

The Dems and Claire gave him a roughly 2 million in ads attacking his rivals

As I posted on another thread:

"There’s a reason why Democrats spent over $1.5 million trying to help Akin win his three-way primary. He was the most conservative candidate in the field — and the most unpredictable one. He shook up his campaign staff late last year. He recently released a head-scratching and jumbled campaign ad. And Democrats have already launched a microsite highlighting his controversial statements that won’t play well with moderates. (“America has got the equivalent of the stage III cancer of socialism because the federal government is tampering in all kinds of stuff it has no business tampering in,” Akin once said.)"

They helped Akin because they figured he was the only one in the bunch they stood a snowball's chance of defeating in 2012. They chose him, to beat him, thinking they could because he is so very much like us "crazy" right wing conservative Christian patriots they detest so much. Akin is still going to win and, I confess, I will enjoy watching the liberal talking heads explode when they realize their plan backfired.

Only by our liberal opponents. That and worse to be sure. I expect no less from them. Who among us hasn't been subjected to the same for one point or another?

Oh please!

His voting record is speaks volumes. Atkin is a CONSERVATIVE...A TRUE CONSERVATIVE...unlike Romney, Rove, Hannity, and the rest of the hypocrites.

I think some people are intimidated by people who are genuinely pro-life.
