The Solution to the Missouri Mess... David Limbaugh...
8/22/2012 | taildragger

Freepers...

I have been thinking and need your feedback.

Assume Mssr Akin exits the stage so to speak., The laws do not allow Steelman etc to fill in or do a write in vote.

So the State GOP'ers can pick a candidate to fill his shoes.

Doesn't Rush's Brother still live in Missouri?

Why not Run this Brilliant Attorney and a man that would have to debate with half his brain tied behind his back..:-)

A penny for your thoughts...

There is a good conservative ex-senator, ex-governor, who is popular enough he would clean up against McCaskill and Akin in a 3-way brawl: Kit Bond.

We republicans will be happy to stand behind any candidate with a brain. Akin’s brain is obviously non-functional.

That IS a good idea. Their family is VERY prominent in the state, I don’t think we realize how famous they really are. I mean his cousin is a big-shot federal judge, etc.

But I want to point out, if Akin withdraws then ANYONE can be put up to run in his stead by the party.

If he DOESN’T withdraw then only person who DID NOT run in the primary can run as write-ins.

And you have to be very well known to prevail as a write-in. Don’t overlook the fact that the 2 most recent to do this (and they may be 2 out of 3 in all history, but I might not have that detail right), Murkowski & Lieberman were both the sitting senators.

And, as I thought about this today, I realized that really gave them a lot of advantages, such as franking privileges, etc. that some “outsider” write in would not have.

Our only hope is that people are NOT sending him money and he’ll see he can’t go on. He’ll realize his 15 minutes of fame is becoming 2 weeks of infamy and he’ll petition the court to let him drop out.

I don't think we R's stand behind anyone with a brain. Look what he have in Congress. Those with a brain are overshadowed by the 'brainless'.

Romney was fortunate to find Ryan.

As far a Akin goes, if he is replaced, will the next guy be any better? If you now think Akin will lose Missouri, do you think the new guy will win? Or, will he/she just be more fodder for a hostile media? Will the new guy/gal guarantee a win? Is it the desire for R's to continually shoot themselves in the foot and lose so they will invited to the D's great cocktail parties?

I must confess I do not know details of situation in MO. But I do know this, that Akin is a walking gaffe machine. A 65 year old man in politics should know better than to say something like a woman victim of rape has defense mechanism against getting pregnant.

History is replete with conquering armies pillaging and RAPING every woman they could find and resulting in pregnancies galore.

I will support any republican who has an ounce of brain. Akin obviously has lost his.

I do not know if a replacement for AKin will win in MO, but I am willing to bet $100 Akin loses to McCaskill. Any takers?

The solution to the Missouri mess is to support Akin. He’s a 100% conservative on every issue that is supposed to be important to Freepers. The MSM and the dems are trying their damndest to destroy him over a single word. And the more we cower in fear over this tactic, the more they will use it against conservatives. Look for a word, exploit it and destroy a good man over it.

Total Alinsky tactic and Freepers are falling for it in droves.

Support Todd Akin. He believes in everything you do, unless you are a RINO.

You’re overlooking something. I’m in MO. and I know our population is not primarily Freepers. We’ve mostly all seen the MO laws on this referred to- Sore Loser law; Brunner and Steelman cannot run - no write ins - if Akin steps down, and I don’t think he will; they may have to throw him out if they can - the only way out of this mess is if the party asks Kit Bond to run. So I hope it breaks that they can and do. Being realistic here instead of Stubborn - stubborn often loses. We can’t afford to lose. (Would somebody please tell Akin that??)

I live in rural Missouri. Prior to Akins remarks, he had a double digit lead. That has evaporated. The only person in politics who is saying Akin should stay in the race is Claire. Reason enough for the thinking person to say “why does Claire want to run against him so badly”. She also supported him in the primary. He has turned a no~lose race into a safe Dem seat.

Frankly it seems to me that from the tenor of the posts, someone on this forum is likely to assassinate him before the end of the month. I have never seen such hatred at a genuine conservative before on this forum. It's pretty frightening actually.

Isn't that a bit over the edge? I mean really... We are discussing the potentiality of a replacement and you go “there”? Personally I have tried to look at what Mr. Akin’s has said from a medical, law enforcement, and legal standpoint and quite frankly I am more flummoxed by his response than ever and I won't get into here it is to much into the weeds And yes I'd like to see him withdrawal, for a host of reasons one being a media double standard that I cannot change. But that doesn't mean that someone within Freeperdom will go and do something historically reserved for the far left and the deranged.

Quite frankly I find what you said rather insulting....

And I say to you, get a clue. This isn’t about the MO senate.mIt’s about defeating Obama with a majority in the US senate to repeal this stuff. If “getting guts” means allowing Zero to stay in office, that constitutes “getting brain dead.”

It was intended to be insulting. The attitude of a lot of Freepers who would rather install a dedidicated RINO to replace a lifelong Conservative over fear of the same smear tactics they used against Palin and they will use against Ryan is insulting. I have seen a lot of posts where Freepers are saying that Akin has been bought off or is a Traitor and have seen posts where they have said they HATE him for standing up and fighting. The hatred being expressed by Freepers is disgusting. They fear the smear machine and would prefer a mousy but clean Liberal who might vote to modify Obamacare and install an Abortion loving homosexual loving moderate rather than fight for a conservative.

I hope all you surrender monkeys are insulted. I pray that Akin fights on. The more you insult him the less chance he has of winning.

Brilliant idea, but if I were Limbaugh I would never get down into the mud with RATS. There is a reason why congress has an approval rating in the single digits. David is making a nice living and can bash a RAT anytime he wants without having to worry about how the media is going to portray him.
