It was a dispute between coworkers. Two people were killed - the gunman, who was shot by the cops (it’s a heavily policed area), and a woman who was passing by when the gunman started to shoot. The extent of the injuries of the wounded isn’t known yet.

...but that's impossible. Guns are not allowed on the streets in New York City. Someone must explain this to whoever initially reported it.

I thought it was virtually illegal to have a handgun in NYC. How could this have happened? It must be Bloomberg’s fault.

Generally, whenever there is a mass shooting like in Auburn Colorado, it spawns copycat lunatics.
HOWEVER, if this stuff CONTINUES to go on, I will seriously have to consider the possibility that this is part of Team Obama’s plan to escalate Operation Fast and Furious.
None of the above detracts from the individual human tragedy of incidents like this and I pray for the victims and their families.

If the shooter was a black guy wearing urban street cloths and shooting from a moving car out of the window on the south side of Chicago it wouldn’t even be a news story.

Politicos, entertainers, their employees and other low lifes are, legally, allowed to carry in New York City.

I believe everyone knows that. I also believe none of those folks were involved in this shooting meaning that the gun control laws of NYC accomplish nothing except disarming the law abiding. I believe everyone knows that also.
