Details are emerging about the man who opened fire at the Empire State Building today, killing his former boss. Mayor Michael Bloomberg identified the shooter as 53-year-old Jeffrey Johnson. According to NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Johnson worked as a women's accessories designer for Hazan Imports Corporation.
But he apparently lost his job a year ago when the company downsized.
The New York Post reported that Hazan stalked his former boss down the street and shot him.
According to a company profile on ZoomInfo, Hazan Imports employs between 50 and 100 people and focuses on budget handbags. It's located at 10 West 33rd street, right near the Empire State Building:

In the linked article, it also notes that Johnson and the manager he killed "had traded accusations of harassment when Johnson worked there". I'm therefore guessing gay sexual harassment led to Johnson's losing his job.
There are a lot of modern semi-autos that won’t jam if you limp-wrist them. That’s important not just for the gay crew but for women, the infirm, the elderly, etc., etc. A Springfield XD like mine is almost impossible to jam by limp-wristing, for example.
Rush said that perhaps this shooting could be laid at the door of Obama for his war on businessmen and business managers and the shooter being brainwashed by the media that he was a victim of “big, evil business.”

The shooter, Jeffrey Johnson, aged 56, was a women’s accessory designer for six years for a company called Hazan Imports, until the company downsized a year ago, at which time he was laid off. A Google search of Hazan Imports gives an address on 33rd between 5th and 6th avenue, though it was stated during the press conference that the shooter did not work in the Empire State Building itself. He had an altercation on the sidewalk with his victim, who was reportedly his former manager. He then shot the victim in the head with a .45-caliber pistol, though not much is yet known about the victim whose identity is being held until family can be notified.
WWD is reporting that Hazan Imports is a privately owned company, listed under “imports” with an estimated annual revenue of $5 to 10 million and 10-19 employees.
A total of nine people have been wounded, some of whom were possibly accidentally shot by police in crossfire, but all are reported “unlikely to die.” The two fatalities were the gunman, shot by police, and his victim, a 41-year-old male.

Especially because the name of the business [that the writer confused with the perp's] is Arabic/muslim. If that had been the actual name of the perp, it would not have been published. That's weirder than regular old incompetence.

They thought that I was a complete Southern Bumpkin, until I discovered how they *had* been fixing their computers. Basically, when something stopped working they way they liked, they unplugged it and threw in a storage room.
They had close to $500K worth of stuff in there (this was years ago, when desktops and printers and especially servers were expensive). I brought most all of it back online for no more than a few thousand in parts. The owner loved me for it, and we got along just fine thereafter.
But I digress. Even on a good day, I could see where there would be problems. Most of the people in the office were all pretty loosely wrapped, and/or heavily medicated. I wouldn't have wanted to see ANY of them carrying anything more lethal than some pocket lint.

Well, having worked in general area of the Empire State building, I’m aware of the extent of the “rag trade” shops. Couldn’t walk down cross streets without dodging the guys pushing clothing racks on the sidewalks and streets. Most of the businesses are Jewish owned.
While some words in Arabic and Hebrew have the same roots, in that neighborhood it is most likely Jewish.
