Screw the party - bunch of elitist RINOs!. I’m more concerned about the good of the country!

Maybe you and Akin can start your own little party, that is if he doesn't have an ounce of brains.

I’ve seen “press conferences” where people stepped down or dropped out before.

Plus it’s a late Friday afternoon.. the perfect time to make an announcement you don’t want a lot of people to see.. or remember.

He should have done this a long time ago. I wonder if his political career can be salvaged at this point?

If he drops out now he should be given a juicy gig at,say,$125K at the St Louis office of the DOE.Or the DC office if he prefers.Otherwise,make sure his name is so totally destroyed that he won't be able to get arrested in DC.

I hope he takes the gold watch and goes home.If he does decide to petition the court to withdraw I hope it can be done within 2 weeks so we can put the race back on track again.

He's challenging Romney for the Presidential nomination at the convention next week.

The hill.com is saying that Akin is dropping out and the Republican party has agreed to pay to go court and get him replaced on the ballot.

Well now they just changed the story to say that he is holding a press conferance to say he rejected with the Republican party and is staying in. What an idiot...

Only reason to hold a press conference is to say he’s dropping out. Wonder if he was able to negotiate a conservative replacement.

No reason for a press conference unless he’s bowing out.

Good.

I HOPE this moron drops out.

(If anything, just to tick off his vocal and vitriolic little band of supporters here....)

He must have gotten the call from Rush.

Since Rush runs the GOP.

lol

==

Akin saw his support falling away. If he stays in McCaskill will win and the GOP might lose Missouri.

==

I posted last week that he was awaiting the GOP to reach his price. They may have.

I’m in his congressional district and one of his senior campaign staff spoke at the local Pacyderms Club less than 2 hours ago. Based on that, I seriously doubt he’s pulling out. His support at the meeting was near 100% and his fundraising is beating his own goals.

I bet he doubles down. Furthermore, I bet he does another double-down presser every time he drops out of the top news.

"Hey, over here!! Mr. Legitimate Rape is available for photos and interviews! I'd love to apologise some more. There'll be corndogs and cherry pie for the press corps! Com'n, look at me! Please!!!"

Probably a stupid question, but could the GOP actually expel him from the Party?

Akin is selfish enough to call a press conference to say he’s staying in — just to hurt the convention weekend.

He’ll probably announce he’s raised money from Democrats, who have graciously agreed to keep him fully funded until September 25.

Naive, doddering old fool. Delusional kook.
