Skip to comments.New poll shows Obama with a significant lead over Romney in Pennsylvania (up by 9 points)

Ten weeks before the election, a voter poll commissioned by The Inquirer finds President Obama leading Republican rival Mitt Romney by a significant margin in Pennsylvania, raising the question of whether the Keystone State is up for grabs on Nov. 6.
The Inquirer Pennsylvania Poll, led by a bipartisan team of top political analysts, concluded that if the election were held now, Obama would win the state by nine percentage points - 51-42 - with 7 percent of voters undecided.
The telephone survey of 601 likely voters, conducted from Tuesday through Thursday, had a statistical margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent. The results are comparable to those of other recent polls, including one released Thursday by Muhlenberg College, which also found Obama leading by nine points in the state.
Jeffrey Plaut of Global Strategy Group, a Democratic polling firm, said the results may indicate Pennsylvania has lost some of its "swingy-ness." He said Friday that Democrats would have to fail to turn out their base voters to "put the state in play."

And we're even further ahead than this push poll indicates when you factor in voting by illegal aliens ... by dead persons ... by people who don't want their kneecaps broken by union thugs ... by Whites who don't want to die if they cross Black Panther lines ... and by fraud when we tally the results!
The telephone survey of 601 likely democrats and progressives standing in line at the unemployment office while talking on the free cell phones.
Otherwise it’s just anothe BS poll.
Wow! the food stamp, welfare, social secuity, disability, unemployment, social sevice dependency act is working
If the Philly Inquirer told us that 2+2=4, I’d check the math... it was recently bought out by a group headed by ex-gov Ed Rendell. Rendell was also poisonous toad who in 2000 was the DNC chief and orchestrated the entire Bush vs. Gore election fiasco.
Ha - no breakdown of party ID - I call BS!
Put out fake poll
I can’t believe it’s even close. I think the Obama campaign team is paying Gallup to publish false numbers to give the illusion that the American people support him when the majority clearly do not seem to. Trying to use the ole bandwagon trick IMO
I think Romney is going to win big, but I don’t see Penn. going Red.
Stupid people do and say stupid things!
Go see 2015. There is a SECOND movie coming out later called Hope and Change about how those who voted for this devious fifth columnist felt betrayed by what he promised and what he actually delivered.
Obama is a demon from hell.
And the media is the chariot on which he was brought to us.
I saw Hannity last night where he highlighted the Producers and even people in the movie. Pat Caddell is one of the primaries in the production. It is devastating but some of the people still need a bigger dose of reality even though they will not vote for Obama again.
I would say drag them all to see 2016 and some light bulbs just might illuminate.

Only 601 people polled and a 4% margin of error makes it worthless.
Barry could only have 47% and Romney could have as much as 46%. Add in the 7% undecided which typically goes against the incumbent and Romney could be leading by 53% to 47%.
Plus I don't believe anything that comes out of Philly. They might as well have polled people at the DNC HQ.
Go read Selina Zito....she has Pennesylvina and Ohio covered

Sure they are..........
In reality, we all know if the real votes were counted, 0bama is going to lose every state but Rhode Island.
Everywhere I go, people hate the guy. The only question is keeping the race close enough — by promising more food stamps for illegal alians and more “medical” marijuana to stoned lib ed majors — that their vote fraud can plausibly swing the result.
Even then, this thing has an 80% chance of going for Romney.
(don't have the time to search them out either. too busy with a lot of other things.)
If RR take Wisconsin & Michigan do they even need Penn? Can’t see the dems winning it by 9 points—maybe by 3.
601 likely voters all from the Philadelphia suburbs.

BOW TO NOBODY:
Oh-Bah-Mah took PA by 10.5 points in 2008 against a weak and ineffectual McCain. Now, after 4 years of a crappy economy and high unemployment rates, they expect us to believe that Oh-Bah-Mah has lost only 1.5 percent of support?
Are they selling bridges too?
I note they conspicuously leave out the Sampling Magic.
This isn't a poll, it's a bald-faced lie.
OMG I ALSO SEE a 6.9% MARGIN OF ERROR!!!
NO POLLING GROUP ON THE *PLANET^ WOULD PUT OUT SUCH GARBAGE!!!!
“I think Romney is going to win big, but I dont see Penn. going Red.”
Without Pennsylvania, it can hardly be a “big” win for Romney. And it just doesn’t look so good for him there.
I’ve said it many times and I’ll repeat it:
This is going to be a close election, razor-thin in the electoral college.
The outcome as of yet, is uncertain.
Having said that, I believe Romney will win. I hope I’m proven wrong about what I just posted above, but that’s the way I see it...
Agree on both counts. PA and NJ are the perennial teasers. Don’t waste a dime there. Put it in WI and IA and MI where the evidence is Romney can win.
And, once again, Philadelphia will have voter turnout of over 100%. Nobody gets out the vote like the Rats’ Voter Fraud Machine.
I hear what you are saying about Akin, but it’s still August and there is plenty of time for the race to still turn. Clair M. is about as popular as bubonic plague in MO.
Right - sorry 2016.
While you are at it, wait and see “Hope and Change” AND see “For Greater Glory” about a revolution ignored in American history books of Catholic Christians in Mexico against a socialist atheist government.
I live here in PA. and from what I see B. Hussein Obama is not liked in my area...
The Philadelphia Inquirer is a Lefty rag, and the “poll” was no doubt rigged.
At all events, there’s only ONE poll that means anything - the poll in November, and Obama is losing Big Time.
Pat Caddell is one of the primaries in the production
An honest D. Rare to find these days.
To me he stands alone in calling out O for what he is.
don’t forget gang it’s a non-Confederate state, anything can happen.
When we are two weeks out from election day, curiously these poll numbers will suddenly show Romney up 2 to 5 points. That’s when the pollsters will be forced to be honest with their polling methods in order to keep their post election credibility. Until then they have full license to lie and manipulate.
I am from PA (not the coal region)and I don’t see any Obamma stickers. I was born and raised in the soft coal region but haven’t been there recently so I don’t know how it will go there. Where I live now is red country but I have neighbors that are Dems. Its hard to tell how they will vote, they don’t realize their party left them so they could go Obamma. Several are retired school teachers so that tells you something.
I will take a little win.
Yes, to the 20th century.
I am in PA too. Obama is universally hated here.
Yeah I don’t see the problem with this some of you do.
I’m expecting Obama to win Pennsylvania easily.
(To the tune of Bad Boys)
Fake polls, fake polls, watcha gonna do, when nobody with a brain believes in you?
Apparently Pennsylvanians love themselves some Obama.
If things don’t improve there significantly after the convention, resources might be better invested elsewhere.
What part, though? Don't Philly and Pittsburgh overwhelm everyone else?
What part, though? Don't Philly and Pittsburgh overwhelm everyone else?
a pathetic attempt....geesh.
obuggery isnt ahead by 9 points even in Guam
Philly and the Burgh WON'T BE ABLE TO BRING THE ‘DEAD’ IN TO VOTE...CAN'T BUY VOTES UNLESS YOU HAVE ID TO PROVE YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE!!!
