California OKs bill shielding undocumented immigrants
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | August 25, 2012 | Matthai Kuruvila

California state legislators passed a bill Friday that seeks to protect undocumented immigrants charged with relatively minor crimes from being deported.

The bill, by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, would prohibit local police from detaining anyone on an immigration hold if the person is not charged with or has not been convicted of a serious or violent crime.

The bill, which only needs the signature of Gov. Jerry Brown to become law, passed the Assembly on Friday after being amended in the state Senate to remove language that would have required police departments to develop plans to guard against racial profiling.

So amnesty was passed. I must have missed it being discussed and voted on in Congress.

Legal precedent has been established: only the Federal Government can establish and enforce immigration law.

I expect to see holder file an injunction on Monday Morning.

(do I need the /sarc?)

How long before the mother*^%$s in Sacramento pass a law entitling illegal aliens with the property of US citizens?

The serious crime Mr Ammiano is that the person is an ILLEGAL who has broken the law by sneaking into this Country against our laws..

Every cop down there should go out on a medical retirement and walk away from that lost state. Let those lib bastards drown in their own sewer.

Good. Let’s encourage as many illegal immigrant as possible to move to California, Oregon, Washington and any other liberal state that wants to give them drivers licenses, welfare and food stamps. Then when those states beg for other states to bail them out, just sat “sorry”.

If I lived in the dead state of California, I’d already be packed and on my way to Texas.

I love some of your beaches, there are some beautiful places and the weather can be great, but I flat could not and would not be able to live with the human sewer scum that walks around down there.

Problem is, when CA goes bankrupt, the cancer spreads...and the crimaliens use the CA license to get a new license in a new state.

I live in the lib state of Washington and I am perfectly okay with that. The sooner these lib states completely die, the better off we are going to be.

Fortunately for me, I live 3 hours to the west of Seattle and seldom ever go there and only when I must. Most of the folks around me are conservative and those that aren’t are shunned.

I live 3 hours to the west of Seattle...

The coast is only 100 miles west of the city. Does it take that long to get there?

I was sent to Seattle for a week several years ago. The second night I discovered Elliott's Pier. Ate there every night till I left. Man, that was some fine seafood!

Sad, we now have to protect ourselves from a foreign nation to the south and one on the west!

Ammiano would marry Harvey Milk if he could.

All the democrats in the State Assembly and Senate are either thralls, in the pocket of or subservient to; the public employees unions, the environmental lobby and our brown brothers from across the border.

But the weather's great, Pete's is serving coffee, Safeway's shelves are stocked, and the husband - if he works in hi-tech- still has a decent job, so no grumbling amongst the Katie Couric wanna-be's yet.

I live on my mountain on the Olympic Peninsula, at the foot of the Olympic Mountains. Going to Seattle from here involves a couple of options. You can drive part way and take a Ferry or you can drive around, going through Tacoma and its traffic. Either way can vary, but they are close to 2 1/2 hour trips. A small plane can get you ‘over’ Seattle in about 20 minutes. ;>)

I am looking out across the Strait of Juan de Fuca from the north side of my house. I can see Victoria B.C. and off to my right I can see the entrance to the San Juan Islands. Victoria is only 19 miles across the water, but it takes me over an hour to get there on a nice day with calm waters and a willingness to spend $100 on gas in my gas hog boat. ;>)

What is nice about being a bit remote is when the SHTF, we will know when the hordes are on their way.

Seattle does have many fine places to eat and the seafood can be great, I just don’t like being around most of those folks, so I seldom bother to head that way.

Cheers....

Glad you are not here! I was born here and intend to stay and see California return to it’s former rightful place as the best place in the United States. As for the “human sewer scum,” my guess is that wherever you hang your hat you have an undesirable element as well. Most of California DOES NOT have the so-called scum around, but then I live in Northern California. And while Texas has a great economy and is on the right track, it’s the shits of a place to live, I know, I turned down a very good business opportunity to move there twenty years ago and it was because of the climate and all of the bugs!

Can't show any class can you? As it happens his "domestic partner" died of AIDS in 1994.

The man is a toad but that's no reason to stoop that level.

Post #18 might help. It’s generally closer to 2 1/2 hours, but when we drive around, we usually take a couple of breaks along the way. While are not in the ocean, we are close. ;>)

Well, I hope you get your dream, but from here I can’t see California turning the mess around.

I know there are also good conservatives there, but it doesn’t look like there’s enough of you guys to be able to do much. I have a son who lives in Northern California and he loves it. He had lived in LA, but he hated it.

As for you being glad I am not there... good, I am very pleased that I’m not. You’ll also be pleased to know that other than flight connections, I haven’t been there in decades and I don’t include the state in any of our vacation plans.

Now about your screen name. I speculate that you may own a 63 and perhaps an 87 Corvette. If that is the case, you have my envy! I was looking at listing for vintage/classic Corvettes the other day. I found one that is located about 1 1/2 hours from here. She is a red/white 61 convertible... she is beautiful and like new, but.... the guy wants $100,000. Ouch!

On the off chance that I might live longer than you, I would greatly appreciate it if you would be so kind as to put me in your “Last Will and Testament” for the 63. Hey, you never know, you might not say no.

I didn’t mean to offend you about your state, but that is how I see it from here... that’s all.

Cheers....
