Shortly after the court in Norway sentenced Anders Behring Breivik, who murdered 77 people just over a year ago, to 21 years in prison, he apologized for not having murdered more people.
Asked whether he intends to appeal the sentence that was handed down to him, Breivik said, Since I do not recognize the authority of the court, I cannot recognize the legitimacy of the punishment it gave me. Accordingly, I cannot appeal.
When he was asked on Friday whether he wants to apologize or express remorse for his actions, Breivik responded, I definitely want to apologize. I apologize to all nationalists everywhere that I did not succeed in killing more people.
Earlier on Friday, the court ruled that Breivik was sane and guilty. In an unusual twist, prosecutors had asked that Breivik be found insane, which would have guaranteed more prison time, while Breivik demanded that he be found guilty.
Breivik insists that he is not insane. He asked to be ruled sane so that his self-proclaimed motive of fighting multiculturalism and Islamization would not be dismissed.
The maximum prison sentence for his crimes is 21 years, but under Norway's preventative detention law, it can be extended if Breivik is considered a danger to society.

insane people get more time than sane people?
Modern European civilization. We put the ‘moron’ in oxymoron.
Seriously, I hope somebody offs this guy. Think about it, they probably would only get a few more years on their sentence.
And my understanding is the prisons over there are more like American college dorms, maybe even nicer.
Let’s send in Pipi Longstocking, Norwegian super girl. She’s grown up some, but still has that same carefree attitude and extraordinary strength.
“insane people get more time than sane people?”
It is not that psych cases get more time per se, it is that they are not released until they are ‘well’. Thus their incarceration would be indefinite, and a way to back door a life sentence even for much lesser offenses.
Oh yes, or the Girl with the Dragon tattoo (based on Pipi I think it’s thought). She’s make mincemeat out of that guy.
What shall I do today? What shall I do today;-? I always knew the Shodik was a martial arts kata.
Didn’t the courts find him sane? Maybe that was another freak I read about.
I hope it is as you say. I’d hate to think what kind of horror this guy could plot with 21 years to plan.
Found sane. Now only Pipi/Dragon Tattoo Girl can take him out. The world is insane, especially Norway.
“Didnt the courts find him sane?”
Yes they did. This made him subject to a finite sentence. If found insane, as the prosecution requested, he could have been incarcerated indefinitely. Actually, that might be safest for him.
I know of a case where a young man accused of rape had his bail paid - by the victim’s family. He was released. He did not make his next court appearance. He can no longer be found.
He says he wishes he had killed more people. Well, his 21 year maximum sentence works out to less than for months per victim. He may well get his chance to fulfill his wish. It’s too bad Norway doesn’t place a higher value on human life. This is the legal system that they created - for whatever ridiculous reason they had for doing so.
To Europe, the death penalty is considered inhumane, so they won’t deport felons to the US that face that penalty...and we pretty much agreed to their terms - we promise no death penalty for some of these animals. Life without parole was the alternative.
But that wasn’t enough for the Europeans - as now they consider Life without parole inhumane...well, I guess, usually inhumane. I guess they make an exception here, as this guy is a politically incorrect killer.
Breivik is certainly consistent.
The sad thing is when muslims have the numbers to enforce sharia, it will require a vikingesque response! Evil begets evil and it will require a like minded response to vanquish it, just ask the crusaders, evil backs down when it has a boot on its’ throat or its’ head on a pike, liberalism and humanism coddle evil, so it multiplies!
If so, then Breivik is merely the first to see and act on it, which sounds exactly like what he would say himself:-(E
Swedish (by way of Astrid Lindgren), but hey, who can keep all those funny little foreign countries apart, right?
They all look alike to me.
So this guy declared war against muslim immigrants eh? Why do I suspect most of the people he killed were ethnic norwegians?
That would also have got him jail time in PC Europe.
They were members of the main Norwegian leftist/multiculturalist party; it was a party youth retreat he targeted. His reasoning was that the muslim invaders would never have got a foothold in the nation, without the connivance of the native leftists -- hence native leftists bore greater guilt. By targeting a youth group, he ensured that many of those leftists would never cast even one vote.
Evil. But perfectly logical.
There's no "freedom of speech" over there. There simply is NOT any lawful venue to protest, if you are a European and you are against multiculturalism, mass immigration, Islamization, and white ethnoreplacement. Dare to breath a word of protest, and you're pegged as a "NeoNazi". You're just not allowed to express that opinion.
John F Kennedy wisely noted: Those who make peaceful protest impossible make violent protest inevitable."
Of course I don't condone Breivik's violence, but, I hold the governments and the elite classes of Norway and the rest of Europe partially responsible, for making respectable peaceful dissent IMPOSSIBLE on this issue. It was only a matter of time before someone got frustrated enough at being silenced, to start acting out.
a party youth retreat??
what the hell is that?
Sounds like a hitler youth party.
They gave Yasser Arafart the Nobel Peace Prize for exactly the same thing...
Yasser Arafart got a Nobel Peace Prize for doing exactly what Breivik did.
PC Europe deserves to be Islamicized. But it should not be allowed to cheerfully dance into hell. Breivik’s way isn’t the answer, and there has to be someone brave enough to violate the PC speech codes, and do the jail time, and win.
Yasser Arafat killed Jooos! The international community doesn’t consider that a crime. Breivik killed government officials and socialist youth campers. The international community does consider that a crime. And he also doesn’t like multiculturalism and Islamization. That’s a crime, too, in international community-land. As for how to know what is or is not a crime over there, just watch the MSM. If they get mad about it, it’s a crime. If they get mad at the people who were killed, instead, it’s not a crime. Your anchorman knows best.
We have less abortions than you, less murders.
Yes we do value life.
At least more than you do.
Cheers from Norway.
Breivik used that quote himself in his manifesto and at the trial.
