Getting a gun in Chicago quick and easy
Chicago Sun-Times ^ | Aug. 25, 2012 | Frank Main

Want to know how to get a gun?

Just ask Chris.

The skinny teen attends high school in Chicago and is a talented athlete. But he’s also a notorious gunslinger.

As a shooter in a South Side gang, he can get his hands on a gun as quick as you can get a burger at a fast-food restaurant.

A careful reading of this article shows exactly why Chicago has such a huge problem with gang related shootings--the authorities refuse to enforce existing gun laws, including Federal laws, agaist gang bangers. For example, Chris, the Trayvon interviewed for this article, says his standard practice on getting a gun is to remove the serial number, a Federal felony, and that it's SOP with other gang members. Nevertheless, he's not even been prosecuted for possession of a defaced fire arm. All the cops do is confiscate the weapons. If, OTOH, they started prosecuting him and his for the multiple firearm felonies each has committed, they'd not only reduce gun crime, they'd get vital intelligence that would enable them to destroy the gangs. Those prosecutions aren't occurring beause the gangs, Chicago government, and the DemonRat national party are one in the same.

Gun control is useless. Crime control is what counts. Crime control is what DemonRats won't do becausse they're the criminals' accomplices.

Honestly? Frank Main, CST, seems to be studying at the Jayson Blair (NYT) and Stepen Glass (New Republic) School of Lazy Ass Journolism.

I wouldn’t put any stock in this story unless he will give up the ‘anonymous source’ moniker and allow his recounting to be verified.

Legitimate gun sales would interfere with the Dems’ profits on illegal gun sales.

The amswer is always money.

the authorities refuse to enforce existing gun laws

Why?

A) There's no money in it, and

B) It would reduce the impetus for more gun control

Kind of like the arsonist/fireman who likes to create work for himself.

Exactly.

And Obama wants less discipline for blacks:

How long before they make that the law regarding prisons? Prisons must reflect the racial %s of the country or it’s some kind of civil rights violation.

Meanwhile, Chris and his gunslinging gang will be especially glad to know that when they do go to school, they can look forward to more protection from Obama.

I didn't find this out until yesterday and I'm shocked that this wasn't big news in the conservative media! Just a few sort weeks ago, Obama issued an Executive Order demanding Race Based Discipline! I kid you not read it and get madder than hell!

Agreed.

OTOH that talk about straw purchasers as one of the sources for the guns makes me wonder why the ATF hasn’t made some kind of sting operation to trace where these guns are going to.

Maybe they could allow straw purchasers to pass guns onto the criminal organizations to make a case against them. (major sarc).

Or maybe just sit back and listen to the media complain about excessive gun violence so that people would be demandint that the gov’t ‘do something’. Of course, the Feds wouldn’t do anything like that, would they?

When I was back in the service I had a member of our unit who was from Brooklyn or maybe it was Bed-Stuy. Anyway we were out on patrol in the Aleutians and we were bored, he told us stories of how easy it was to get a gun in New York City. All it took was money and a go-between. You never saw the dealer and he never saw you. The go-between was someone you had never seen before and wouldn’t again.

$500 to $1500 got you a decent to very good gun that was untraceable to you. Plus some ammunition and you had a means to protect your family or be the bad guy according to your inclination. The dealer didn’t give a damn.

This was back in the 70’s, I wouldn’t surprised if it wasn’t the same today.

anyone can get a gun and as long as the criminals can get a gun the noncriminals need to be able to get them. I do not have a problem with this

no, the reason is no lax enforcement of existing gun laws, the reason is bad people, people that have nothing to live for.

And reduce the voter rolls of a pet demographic group. Gun Control is used as an issue against what they on the left call the “common enemy” (this term is used in about every thread at Kos).

yeah so it isn’t a case by case analysis anymore, this is so wrong and will result in more segregation

Crime control is what DemonRats won't do becausse they're the criminals' accomplices.

And it's intended to spur the racial and class divisions in these areas. White or black well to do individuals cannot legally obtain handguns, but only poor or ethnic individuals can do so. Combine this with Obama's statements that school punishments must be aligned with the race or ethnicity of the individuals, means that law abiding citizens and those who have sparse discipline issues may receive harsher punsishments than those involved in gang violence.

Bed-Stuy is an area within Brooklyn.
My father was raised (1920s-40s) a few blocks away in Cypress Hills.

Fox News has divulged that “Chris’s” real name is “Tyrone”. When Fox News said his name on the air, several Chicago gangs announced that they know Tyrone, and are going to kill him.

The Chicago police responded by saying, “What the hell, Fox News? There are over 700 people in Chicago named Tyrone! Are you trying to get them all killed?”

Fox News responded by saying, “Not our problem.”

Chicago gun laws accomplish one thing that's positive for liberals AND only one thing: they make liberals & the MSM feel better about themselves.

Idiots. Creepy needy liberals are causing this - their needy little egos are causing the slaughter... Communities under siege - citizens afraid to ‘snitch’... police babysitting black neighborhoods.. on the taxpayers dime.... Chicago values... suck.
